My hubby brought me one home about a year ago after a really rubbish night and it was a god send! I still use it when my little one comes to snuggle in, in the morning. The cover washes nice and easy and it's kept it's shape really well. I also have a Widgey pillow which my mum brought me from the UK, it's much firmer so I used that one during the day and to put behind DD when she was learning to sit up. The "My Brest Friend" gets good reviews too but I haven't tried it. Hope this helps.

There's a zumba mumba class on Monday in the Meadows at 10am where you take your babies and they can watch/play while you do the class. I'm planning to try it this week, not sure how my daughter will do though. Which area are you in?

Why don't you wait until your 6 month old is sleeping through the night and doing lots of really cute things then have a nice family day with lots of laughs and ask him! My husband always said he wanted 2 or 3 and now we have DD he wants 3 or 4, I on the other hand am more set at 2 but won't really know until we have 2. Also take into consideration where you are from/want to settle when they go to school. Here for example gas is cheap so we can afford to drive big cars and for us work will pay school fees, where as trying to fit 3 kids into an economical car in the UK with all the bags and car seats these little people come with is a different story but that's for me, it depends on your circumstances but it might be something your husband is considering.

I haven't read all the posts but what is interesting is that I was only saying to a group of my friends today that the security at Mini Monsters worries me. So many times I have walked in or out and there has been no one at the desk, I know it's our responsibility to look after our children and I have a 1 year old so it's not like I could even leave her for a second, but the older kids who are running around like crazy and burning their energy can't be watched every second. Mini Monsters should have a secure entrance/exit and be signing every adult and child in and out regardless of whether they are there to have lunch, a coffee with a friend or take their kids to play.

My DD just turned 1 and I'm hanging on to that morning feed for that extra snooze in the morning :) How about trying one of the 1year+ formulas (idea being the formula is closer to the taste of breast milk than cows milk ) to see if he will drink that, then you could gradually mix it with the cows milk until he's switched over to the cows milk during the day? That's where I'm up to just now, the cows milk on it's own gets completely rejected but if I make a bottle with 3/4 formula and 1/4 cows milk she takes it normally. I stopped feeding gradually from about 8 months when I slowly introduced formula but I was giving it to her in a bottle and she just loooves a bottle where as I guess at 14 months you'll be offering the milk in a cup? Ooooh if only there was a text book with all the right answers in it lol. Get rid of the day time feeds first and then tackle the before bed feed, could you husband do that one with a bottle for a little while until he gets used to it? Just some ideas . . .

I agree about the good and bad stories from every hospital. I had my little girl a year ago at AH and it was great, the most important thing is that you are comfortable with your obgyn and everything else will fall into place. I went overdue and had to be induced and eventually had an "emergency" c-section and honestly all the staff made me feel so at ease and they were so professional. The admin side of things wasn't so great but it was all sorted out by my husband. If we have another baby in Dubai I will definately go back to American Hospital and surely it's even better now that the new ward has opened. Don't stress about someone you don't really know changing hospital and go with your own gut feeling.

I know exactly what you mean about Mini Monsters, my DD has just turned 1 and I don't know how many times I've had to rescue her from big kids throwing themselves from the top of the ball pit or throwing the balls at her!! The staff need to grow a back bone and stand by the rules! I go there for a break, not to look after other people's children. We went to a 1st birthday party in the top level of the Oasis centre last week (Fun City) and we all thought it was fantastic! I'd heard it was grubby, but I didn't find that at all. There's a small padded area with a ball pit and the rest of the area is filled with toys, the ones we played with were all very new and the walls were painted with nice bright pictures, I think it must have had a makeover recently. What makes it even better is that it's only AED20 per hour on week days! I also think Favourite Things is way over priced (for the little ones at least) but if you go on a Tuesday at 10am they have a special deal through 'Mums in Dubai' Facebook group and it's only 35 for the first hour and 10 for each additional hour so it's a good opportunity to try it without it costing a fortune.

AAaah my little girl is almost the same age and seems like they're going through the same phase lol. I tried letting her feed herself with her spoon and there was more food in her hair and on her face than made it to her mouth, I guess it's how they learn, I just hate trying to clean it all up :) It was way more messy than the finger food so we're just sticking with that for now too! Have you tried baking strips of sweet potato with some cinnamon sprinkled on them? The other thing I found by accident that she loves is if you mash some potato you can add all sorts to it like flaked salmon and cheese and roll it into little balls for them to pick up and eat. The majority of the time I just cut up whatever we're eating into small pieces and she soon hoovers it up :)

I'm afraid the DIFC shop is closed, as is the one in WAFI. My husband tried to find a shop selling them at Christmas but apparently they are no longer available in Dubai :(
