Does anyone have a contact number for someone who will come to your house to repair a laptop. Thanks Me and my family have used 'www.fixanyfone.com' 055 144 5145 for various phone, laptop, macbook & tablet repairs. Always found them quick, efficient and reasonably priced.

Stars Suranne Jones from Corrie/Scott and Bailey The first one was very good and I cannot wait for the second one Great to hear that recommendation, thanks for posting. I'll be watching it later this evening. BTW I really enjoyed all the Scott & Bailey series so fingers crossed Suranne's character is as good in this.

As well as what others have suggested I'd also add that I recently bought a couple of plain, not see through and good quality t-shirts from Muji. Stores in MCC & Dubai Mall.

What is it about Customer Care with DU?? 10 days without internet at work following the 'fibre optic upgrade' carried out by Du (some upgrade!), finally tell us it's one of the new cables - no sh*** Sherlock!. 3 days with engineers working on it and they can't find the problem. No body rings to update us as to what is going on (obviously nothing!) an whenever we ring Customer Services they read out what's on the computer screen but won't pass our call to a more senior member of staff. Virgin Radio asked this morning is there anyone/anything at work that has made you cry.... YES.... So suggestions on a postcard please as to what we should do next. Rant not over by a long way :cry: You have my deepest sympathy, LoveBubbles! Our recent issue with this company has now been resolved but they certainly don't make it easy!!!

OP have a look at Bourjois CC cream, it's light but still gives a very goos coverage. After I started to use CC creams I don't like foundations anymore. I'm using the Smash Box bb cream now and I like it because it has SPF 30, but I think I prefer the texture of the Bourjois one. This is a useful thread - like! I am very happy with Smash Box BB cream myself and use it most days. It provides enough light cover for my aging skin (well, late forties), and doesn't cake, sink into my wrinkles, feel heavy or go orange! I use it alone sometimes, and if i'm after a more matt look, then I finish it off with a dusting of Chanel Poudre Universelle (which is also pretty good used alone over a good primer btw). I hope the OP enjoys testing all the suggestions in this thread :-)

Dr. Hany Shafey 050 2566971. Second this recommendation for Dr Hany Shafey who I have found to be kind, very experienced and patient. Practices in both Dubai Mall medical centre and in the Marina.

Is Helper not better than Maid? Maid conjures up images of Downton Abbey and black & white uniforms! Each to their own, but personally I find the term Helper when used in a Maid context patronizing and not indicative of a proper job. It also makes me think of 'mother's little helper', ie Gin :-)

Someone has taken my kind, sweet, caring 17 year old DD and replaced her with a grumpy, eye rolling, snappy, insensitive brat. It seems like she hates me. I have tried talking to her but she just says that nothing is wrong. Has anyone else experienced a total personality change from a teen? I have a couple of teens and haven't (yet) had a total personality change, but there are days when I think I hardly know them as they're so monosyllabic and grumpy, and days when they wrong foot me with their intelligence and thoughtfulness. The biggest challenge is the unpredictability, I never quite know which side of the mood is going to appear.

Hi - has anyone been to see a psychiatrist in Dubai they would recommend? I have recently come off anti depressants and I am feeling in need of some support to get me back on normal tracks Thank you! Dr Hany Shafey is who i'd recommend, highly qualified, very kind, patient and genuinely caring and really seems to know what he is talking about. He works out of the Mediclinic in Dubai Marina and Mediclinic Dubai Mall.

Can anyone recommend a good product that their boyfriend/husband uses? I'm after one for my husband. Happy to pay anything within reason, just don't want to spend a lot without knowing if it's good as I tend to think the expensive things are usually rubbish!! Fingers crossed my post is allowed to stay put by the almighty EW gods! ? My DH uses the miniature freebies I get when buying cosmetics. His fave is Clinique, the yellow one which I think is called Dramatically Different. BTW, this is the woman's moisturizer not from the men's range! I find Faces are pretty generous with miniatures, if asked, when I am making a purchase there. <em>edited by muse on 03/11/2014</em>

my claims to fame are purely through secondary sources but I have 2 x celeb'd up mates if that counts? One gets to hang out and stay with Paris Hilton (yeah yeah) as they're old buddies, and meets all manner of other famous people when doing so from A list down. The other mate is an occasional actor who I've known for many years and when chatting last week on Skype mentioned they'd recently been hanging out with Denzil Washington and before that had been filming some promo stuff with One Direction... They're totally casual about these things. I admit to being naively fascinated to hear from them about all the goings-on in the world of celeb ....

What is so great about brunches? There is nothing I like more than spending a beautiful afternoon inside eating and drinking for four hours, especially when that food is mass prepared and reminds me of school lunch hour. And paying a small fortune to do it. Am I missing something? Ha ha - me too! Don't get me wrong I do like drinking, eating and being social, but I don't like the Dubai brunch thing. I prefer decent drinks, not house ones which are often provided at brunches (not always the case, I know). I like to order a la carte and not have my selection of food mushed by 100s of others before I get to it. I've seen too many fingers poked in buffet dishes and too many not kept chilled enough or hot enough etc... Also I generally just prefer to go out and do my socializing at night (no, not a vampire), rather than in the middle of the day when there are too many other things to be doing, especially when the children were younger. And most of all I simply cannot eat and drink enough to justify the price the some of the 'top end' brunches which always leaves me feeling a bit ripped off even though that's my fault and not their's. However, having said all this, I did enjoy a really good brunch (although more like lunch + drinks really) at The Ivy recently with a bunch of friends for a celebration.

My friend is planning on wearing a long lycra dress and wants to wear a corset underneath to pull everything in :) Which do you recommend and where can she buy this from. The corset should be very thin and not too bulk so as not to show underneath the dress. Try Spanx they are fab to pull everything in and even everything out Spanx definitely gets my vote too, brilliant at disguising and reshaping! Available in Debenhams and online and quite probably other stores too.

My daughter loves football and has always played, outside of school, on a mixed team. She is getting to that age where she would rather play with girls. Anyone know of a girl team or club in Dubai? My daughter has played football here outside school for the last 8 years or so, firstly with boys and for the last couple of seasons with [url=http://go-prosports.com/girls-football/'>link[/url'> (Go Pro) who have girls training and a girls team that complete in the Dubai Ladies League. This has been great as my DD is really too old to be playing with boys now (mid-teens). Both their training and team is of a good standard. Hope this helps. edited by muse on 14/09/2014 <em>edited by muse on 14/09/2014</em>

I have an I phone that is locked to O2 in the uk does anyone know where I can have it unlocked please? I went to shop near geant in ibn battuta but they no longer do it Thanks I have used site: https://www.cellunlock.net/login.asp in the past to provide an unlocking code for phones. It cost about US $10.00 I seem to remember per phone, but it was 2 or 3 years ago. It did the trick unlocking and no problems occurred afterwards either with the phone working on a new network or with the payment via credit card. Hope this helps. <em>edited by muse on 07/09/2014</em>

Two reasons I didn't go with Dr Grimm, firstly because she couldn't offer as convenient dates as the American Hospital and secondly because she couldn't do direct billing with my insurance which the Amercian Hosp could. So my decision was really only based on these administrative conveniences not on any doubts about her abilities as both her and Dr Safar seemed extremely good.

hi all - anyone used any of the above drs for a cataract operation and do you recommend them please? Many thanks I had cataracts removed earlier this year. Before getting them done I went to consult with both Dr Grimm at the Fairmont Gulf Eye Clinic and Dr. Ammar Safar at the American Hospital Ophthalmology Department. Both seemed excellent and very experienced. I chose to have the procedure with Dr Safar at the American Hospital and I was very pleased with the service I received, the after care and with my much improved sight! HTH and good luck.

Thanks for letting us know that Jim'll Fix It don't do this any longer. I had the same problem with the size of my little car vs the size of the flyscreen but fortunately DH's 4x4 was large enough so I took that when he wasn't using it. I was also told that a maintenance company called Renovo (04 442 2986 / www.renovo.ae) will collect, fix, deliver, but I haven't ever used them myself.

Hello I need someone who can come to the house and replace the fly screen I have searched the posts on here but cannot find anything Can anyone help please? TIA We used Jim'll Fix It for repairing a flyscreen ages ago - they came, took it away and brought it back when it was fixed a few days later. Also, and if you've time, last week I needed one done again and just took it to Satwa, one of the Glass & Aluminium shops, and they fixed it in an hour at minimal cost.

Arrgghhh - Opinions on hairdressers are very personal and somewhat emotive but I have experience of both of the ones mentioned in the title. From my experience I used to go to Juan's for a few years but stopped about 2 years ago because a) I didn't like the hard sell of products and services they suddenly starting overwhelming me with when I arrived, was in the chair and when I was leaving, and b) because the standard of their colouring and cutting just simply wasn't as good as it had been when I first started going there. I started going to Ted Morgan MC then and have been pleased with them for colour, cut, styling, advice and general levels of service. They are not cheap but I am happy with what they do each time I go, and the massage is always lovely. They don't, in my experience, push you into buying either products or services that you don't need or want either. Best of luck with wherever you choose and may you look and feel a million dollars :-) <em>edited by muse on 31/10/2013</em>

I was wondering if (before I ordered it online) anyone had a copy of the book Organisational Behaviour by Huczynski & Buchanan knocking around. DH wants it for his MSc. Thanks I have the book from doing an MBA a number of years ago in the UK. I'd reckon on it being about 11 years old but in great condition. Let me know if you are interested in buying it from me as it hasn't had much use since I finished the programme.

Name the 5 football clubs based in Dubai Al wasl Al Nasr Shebab Al Ahli only 4 apparently. I've come to this too late, but I would have got all 4, honest! I'm not sure about a 5th? I've watched one of my children play against the youth sides at each of these a number of times. Al Wasl near the hospital that used to be called Al Wasl, Al Nasr by Leisureland, Al Shebab near Mamza park and Al Ahli behind the airport I seem to remember. Please do correct me if i'm wrong though.

I am currently half way through American Gods by Neil Gaiman. Intriguing storytelling, layers of stories within stories, reality mixed with myths and legends. I enjoyed American Gods but felt it rambled on a bit in parts, but as you say, many layers to it. I also really enjoyed Neverwhere by Neil Gaiman and am hoping to read The Ocean at the End of the Lane shortly. Anyone read Cuckoo's Calling? Yes I have! Well written but a bit slow. I found the Cuckoo's Calling to be a real page turner funnily enough. I read it before it was known to be by JK Rowling and was amazed at the big reveal as i'd never have guessed it was written by her under a pseudo name. Just saying this as if you haven't enjoyed her books previously, don't necessarily be put off. I am just finishing The Book Thief by Markus Zusak, sad, funny, perceptive and beautifully written in my opinion.

Thanks for this - nice site. However, I am at that age where everyone I see wearing stuff I like is somewhat younger than I am and I have no desire to be 'mutton dressed as lamb' as my MIL would say but I am still the same dress size and weight as I have been all my adult life, although gravity has taken its toll! I am finding it increasingly hard to find clothes that meet my requirements of being stylish, of decent quality and that allow me to dress as an individual. Any advice for mid 40s and upward dressing? Oh the problems of middle-age, middle-income ... <em>edited by muse on 11/06/2013</em>

I find it is like outlet shopping anywhere - somedays you get lucky and others you don't. In the past I've picked up a few great bargains on designer gear I would never consider at full price, or even half price in some cases; other times I've left empty-handed wondering a) where the discount is, and b) why is nothing is in my size! I'm not a frequent visitor there, every few months or so will drop in though - and I usually ask for extra discount on the marked price and have often got one. Good luck if you decide to go. <em>edited by muse on 28/05/2013</em>

I haven't been into Debenhams MOE recently, but they used to display the NYDJ at the back of the women's clothing floor (1st floor?), and it wasn't terribly obviously displayed either, just a load of jeans I seem to remember thinking. I tried a pair or two on, but they weren't for me / my shape, although I had high hopes having read some great reviews. Good Luck - the search for good jeans is never easy!

I have had 3 friends with British passports come here within the last year with Israeli stamps in their passports, and one came from and was returning to Israel as part of their trip (via Amman). If you can check with the official entities do so, but in my experience there was no problem.
