i have posted several recent threads updatign everyone with their contact info so please do a search. however, they are indeed going to health bay clinic - but just waiting on their new licenses which are taking longer than anticipated to come through. Dr Carol started at Al Wasl today (14/04/2014) and is covering for Dr Kamal at Al Wasl until the 22nd of April. She will definitely be at Uptown Healthbay Polyclinic on the 22nd. Phone 042524511 for the Uptown branch.

Yes, I can confirm that Drs Carol and Graham Smylie are going to work for Health Bay Polyclinic. My husband works there that's how I know. Graham will be at the Al Wasl branch and Carol will start at the Uptown branch soon. They are just waiting for licensing and visas. Great news or us all. 22nd will be their start date enshallah.

FYI Dr Nicola is now at the Polyclinic at Mirdif. She really is wonderful! Most women feel more comfortable with a female Obs and GYN. Dr Gordon is great for all that stuff too though. But I do understand the need for a female doctor. Dr Nicola Deamer at te DLC Clinic in Festival City is lovely. I actually prefer her over Dr Bland. Where do you live? DLC also have a clinic on Beach Road, Umm Sequeim if that is closer for you, they maily have ladiy doctors.

Yes, I know it's really confusing here. I think that the best thing you can do is find an excellent GP (or Family Physician as they are called in the US and Canada) who will direct you to the best place. I think in the UAE, people tend to self diagnose too much. They think for example that because they have trouble with their back, they need to see an orthopedic surgeon and so will ring a clinic and book an appointment. The fact is, the trouble may be from many different areas. An ortho will do an examination of the spine or bones, but that may not be the actual problem... the problem may be so many other things and the pain or whatever is referred pain. The best thing to do is find a good General Practitioner. They are qualified to examine ALL aspects of the body and are able to give an overall opinion. I highly recommend Dr Gordon at DLC or Nicola Deamer at Mirdif (Poly Clinic I think). They are both truly great doctors. I have heard that Dr Niel is great at DLC too. I'm sure they will direct you on the best path. As much as I do understand that you/we all want the best medical treatment... It sometimes fails to amaze me that there are so many questions on here about medical recommmendations. At home, you go see a GP and no choice about a specialist... Its given to you. Are we saying that the GP's here are not up to a specialist referral, or , is it that there are only a few "specialists" that we should go to??? Just a question that has puzzled me?
