puj75 : Thank you for this info, I am actually thinking on the lines of Homeopathy instead of the medication I am taking, I am going to look and see if there is a clinic here that deals with Homeopathy & get their opinion.

Ladies, thank you all so much for your replies to my message. The shampoos that you have mentioned other than Nizoral are they available here in Dubai. I have used Nizoral before but some years ago now & it definitely helped after I had also massaged my scalp with jojoba oil. I may try this again, however, I wasn't getting thinning or losing hair then. I am 60+ and maybe thinning hair is common with some ladies. I agree its probably best to see a dermatologist for a correct diagnosis.

Yes, same here having lots of problems with the sound & the picture, however, it did mention on the screen yesterday that between 5th & 17th March there will be some disruptions. Hopefully it gets fixed soon though.

You can try Meiwes Kitchens on Sheikh Zayed Road, the gentleman's name is Stefan. We have the granite tops in our kitchen, but I am not sure if he stocks them in his shop or orders them from Germany. Contact number is 04-4329102.

IzzyOnTheSeat : Thank you for your reply, I did make Cranberry Juice from fresh cranberries, but it seems you don't get too much juice from a bag of cranberries. I would prefer to buy the unsweetened juice, however, can't find it most of the cranberry juice here has already got sugar. I am going to try the Organic Store today to see if they stock it.

bbarmani : Thank you for your reply, no I haven't been to see a gynaecologist, it may be worth my while to do that, thank you for the tip to drink parsley tea, I will give it a try. My daughter told me to try watercress tea, she read it can also help UTI's.

Hi bbarmani : Thank you for that. I hope you begin to feel better soon. I have just been on a course of Nitrofuratoin anti-biotics for the UTI, however, I don't think it has cleared up as yet. Not very nice to have these UTI's.

Hello bbarmani, so sorry to hear that you are suffering from UTI's. I myself suffer from these continually & always on anti-biotics which help for a little while, however, the infections always seem to return. I have seen two Urologists in Dubai, however, I cannot recommend. I believe that Dr. Malpani at Welcare is very good & also I myself must make an appointment to see him. His name has been recommended on these posts. Hope you have find a good Urologist soon to get some relief from this awful discomfort.

Oopsiedaisy: I totally agree with you it is a basic medical requirement, I had an Illieostomy (Colostomy) procedure done during the summer time here in Dubai, I'm afraid the aftercare is not so readily available, appointments can take weeks & just not good enougth. I am now working on the process of finding a Surgeon or Specialist in the Private Hospitals who can do the reversal of this surgery as it is now 6 months & I am sure it can be done soon "I hope". I am sure there are many people here in the UAE who have had this surgery, however, it is important that a hospital have an aftercare Nurse or Wound Nurse to help with some of the issues that come following this surgery. Thank you...

Hoots : I agree Evian is a nice water, I usually buy the small bottles to carry around with me when I'm out, however, mostly I am using other bottles of water at home. I will give this a try though. Infact, most of the recommendations on the thread I am going to try i.e. chamomile tea, it is a calming drink so hopefully calms down the bladder too. Sarahlou 123 : I never heard of Trimethoprim until I came onto Expat Women, however, it now seems after being on different antibiotics in the last year they are becoming resistant to the bacteria, quite scary.

Hoots that is interesting, I never thought the local water even though boiled could cause this problem, so which water are you drinking, I would certainly give it up for a few days to try. I am at my wits end with this problem & really the doctors just don't realise how uncomfortable & painful it is. I don't get kidney infections thank goodness, but plenty bladder infections one after the other it seems. I have thought about trying Homeopathic Medicine, but just not sure.

Hi pinks: I definitely will give Chamomile a try, I do like it anyhow, I agree some Cranberry supplements irritate the bladder lining. I go onto the COB Foundation in Birmingham UK & get some advice there, however, many of the recommended cures are not available in Dubai. Hi ccki : I am going to give the rice liquid a try too, I sometimes do the same with the Barley & drink the liquid from the barley, however, I think I should take it more frequent to get some results. Hi Sugar n Spice : you are right this problem controls your life, I have suffered for many years now. I have never been prescribed Trimethoprim, but have heard of it. The Prophylaxis I was give was Uvamin 100mg, once in the evening only, however, it seems it hasn't helped as the test results which came through today the infection is still there, now the doctor is putting me on Augmentin. It seems Bladder Infections are so difficult to get rid of. Like yourself I don't know anyone here who suffers from this problem. Sometimes us ladies suffer in silence though. Thank you ladies.....

Thank you so much ladies, yes this is a long-term problem, I'm on a prophylaxis medicine, however, its taking a long time to get rid of the infection. The doctor did mention Ural, so I will try that & Citravescent to see if they help. Cystopurin Powder also is very good but again not available in Dubai.
