Try Habib Bank or HSBC. Did Dubai Land Dept allow the ownership of the house with the BVI as they head their had advised me previously they would only accept companies owning property here if the company was formed or a branch office of a freezone company in the UAE.

I would recommend you dealing straight with the free zone such as JLT, Silicon Oasis etc rather than going through these agents. You end up paying 5-10k more for them doing what you can do easily on your own.

Mango is always good for maxi dresses. Also try Meena Bazaar in Bur Dubai for Arabic/India styles. Also Abu Hail mall in Deira.

You dont have to do visa runs for these freezones. Creative city has its branch office in dubai so can submit all the paperwork here and also do you medical in Deira.

Honestly, I don't know why anyone would pay a company to set up an entity in a free zone. I guess if the company's fees are very reasonable, it might make sense. Or maybe if you're a very busy person and do not have the time to do it. However, it's really not that hard to set up. You might have to jump through numerous hoops until it's all done But, if you already live here, you know what it's like to jump through hoops to get stuff done. You cannot set up a company onshore unless you have a 51% Local partner hence why people create freezone companies. They get 100% ownership. If you want to do businesses such as trading within the UAE you have to use an approved agent to sell your goods inside the UAE.

You can do business inside the UAE (onshore) with certain freezone licences. I can run my business through Creative City providing lifestyle consultancy (covers me decuttering). Ajman free zone was aimed more for industrial business (cheaper version of JAFZA) and i believe it was not possible to work onshore only in the free zone. It may have changed recently.

You can usually share a container with other people. As you are shipping to Singapore there must be others who will be in the same situation. Try Freight works for shipping as they will base it on the number of items you are shipping rather than container.

Service charges are payable quarterly with Damac; what do you do then if the LL doesnt pay during the quarters you are a tenant? Yes it is a business but the argument that the tenant is responsible entirely is incorrect if the LL doesnt pay the quarterly amounts during your tenancy. If Hamptons are not paying the service charges they need to explain why to the tenants. They cannot be allowed to not pay and not be accountable if they are responsible for payments. This means they are holding money in escrow and obtaining interest on this which should not be accepted by the LL and Tenant.

Creative Zone just helps you set up a business in Creative City. Go direct to Creative City and file the paperwork. Cheaper and easier. If you do want to have the license from Dubai check out Silicon Oasis and and DMPZ (the media production zone near Greens roundabout on Sheikh Mohammed Road).

Its not bad here. Going into central dubai takes 10 mins mostly and less traffic on AL Khail road (and miss salik is savvy). It is still very sandy and a construction site but the park near Sandoval is great and a community is being created. There are two fb pages for JVC residents which is great as well. Shops are sparse. I am lucky there are shops in my building which is handy and more are being built. Would be nice to have a high street like Motor City has but i guess one day it will arrive. I really wish the little cafes would have some outdoor seating like MC,I would be more inclined to go there if I could sit outside. There isn't much room on the pavement I suppose and maybe they're not allowed but it would be much nicer to have tables maybe with umbrellas,candles....the odd damas in a plant pot?.....I don't ask for much... yeah i agree. one day they might think about having them :)

hi ameena The trade licence and share certificate are separate documents. The headings of documents you should have are: 1. Certificate of incorporation 2. Share certificate 3, Memorandum of Association 4. Trade licence 5. Office lease agreement 6. Business id 7. SAIF zone id 8. Residence visa, 9. Labour card For proper corporate governance you should pass board resolutions and shareholder resolutions to form the company. The resolutions should include the appointment of the directors, location of office, what the business will do, etc. You should be able to get drafts online. hope that helps.

try crate and barrel. they wont have the classic orange and red colours but they usually have some of the stock on sale. Otherwise next door in MOE is Jashanamal which sells the full range. Maybe outlet mall? Nothing will beat a cast iron le creuset... edited by shelo09 on 28/01/2014

Hi Ameena You will only receive one share certificate so it should be stored in a mutually accesible area. Also take scans of all documents and retain in a server such as dropbox for all partners to have access to. You should also have a certificate of incorporation. From my recollection of dealing with SAIF zone companies they did provide the original of the labour/immigration card but copy of the company card. I agree with Birchy you should visit them with the documents and check you have everything.

hi, for jafza you must have a labour card as that has to be provided when you enter the freezone each day. The card normally takes a week to be issued so i would recommend you go to jafaz building (4 i believe) and check what is going on. The company may have had their account at Jafza suspended due to some reason such as not paying their employees on time, etc. You have every right to check what is going on with your card.

@trublu - JAFZA is your best bet. But you could try Ajman FZ. When i was researching they did the same as JAFZA at a cheaper price. @Di@dxb - i did the medical and emirates ID application in Fujairah as i was unable to get a logical response on going to Al Baraha. It was semi easy (with google maps) and i completed it all in half a day. You can go to Al Baraha and they have a good system there including a typing centre within the hospital. I had to do x-rays and i do not believe there is any way out of it. It on umm sequiem road, side road where the petrol station is towards al khail road. It is in a big grey building a few shops before the big pan emirates building. https://maps.google.com/maps?q=Umm+Suqeim+-+Dubai+-+United+Arab+Emirates&hl=en&ll=25.118729,55.207458&spn=0.006275,0.00795&sll=37.0625,-95.677068&sspn=44.744674,65.126953&oq=umm+sequ&hnear=Umm+Suqeim+-+Dubai+-+United+Arab+Emirates&t=m&z=17

Thanks Heyjude Shelo09 - what did you do whilst you were waiting for your visa? We're you still in another job? I've been in contact with them and it looks good, certainly cheaper than Dubai. What other negatives did you find with them? I cancelled my previous visa which gave me 30 days to stay in the country. I straight away filed the new visa application and obtained the 30 days entry permit visa (giving me some extra time). You have 60days from the stamp on the entry permit visa that Fujairah immigration provides thereafter, so that was enough time to have the new visa processed. I did go to Fujairah to do the medical and Emirates ID as getting a logical response on the process, especially if I did the medical in Dubai, did not happen and I also found that the stamp was missing on the entry permit visa once got there. However, when i was in Fujairah i completed everything in one day and left the paperwork with CC to get the visa. Fujariah immigration seems to work much slower than Dubai so you have to be patient and keep chasing CC. Otherwise it's been an easy enough process to form the company there. Hope it helps.
