I never came across this practice until we moved here. I always only take the invited child to the party never the siblings. I was stunned when siblings turned up at my oldest Childs birthday party not long ago, especially as the cost was 100 per head! Just a note on 'dropping and going": what is the protocol here? Reading the replies below it appears that this is frowned upon. We have always asked the Childs parent when we arrive if they'd like us to stay or not but now I am thinking that this is not done and I am 'dumping'? Feeling very guilty now.

Is this school in Umm Sequim? With 'sister' schools in Mirdif? If so, then you are certainly not alone with being annoyed at the empty promises. The excuses are wearing thin in this household too.

Have fun! Enjoy life as that 20-something year old again. Blow all caution to the wind, have fun, accept invites to anything and everything and have a blast.
