I have a teenage lad that needs some or all of his toe nail removed. Has anyone had experience with this? Any doctor recommendations? Any advice at all? Tia

Just fyi: We went to Dubai Marine Resort and Spa, only AED100 per adult, AED 60 per child on a week day! Food expensive but ok. Beach clean with lovely sand, clear water. Nice big towels, 3 pools, one for kids only, play area, lots of staff to get food & drinks etc. For the price, pretty good! Ali.k

Don't let anyone touch it! I've had a tongue tie for 49 years, so far so good! When I was a baby my mother was told it would only be looked at if it caused any problems, and most don't, so I still have it, just leave well alone unless it's absolutely necessary to cut it. BTW, I have no speech problems :-)

Just a gentle reminder ladies, a coil with no hormones is not as reliable, that may not be an issue for you but may need consideration.......................I have the child to prove it :-)

Get yourself to an EW Coffee Morning, let the host know your coming and she'll introduce you to people. Also, remember your still suffering after losing your Mum, this will be a particularly difficult time for you, go gentle on yourself. Perhaps find out if there is a support group for people who have been through the same experience? Thinking of you my dear x

Sorry CA, misunderstood you - but just checked and they gave me a price of 581 - so much depends on when you catch them - still making a substantial saving! Splitting hairs mate. My actual CC has been debited with 403.59 via Expedia. I got the other price from RB website - should have checked first. Sept 1st LHR-DXB return DXB-LHR Oct 26th. Emirates price GBP 808 Royal Brunei GBP 393 Now I know RB are a dry airline but c'mon, is that for real?? Have obviously booked RB :-) Emirates, get real!!! I just looked and it shows GBP 443 No. the emirates price on their website as it is sale week, is 443

Some people can't afford to go home. I haven't got a job in my home country and have been away so long I doubt I'd get one easily. Anyway - I love it here, and I love my job here, and I love (most of) the people here :-)

So, does anyone actually have any experience of going away for the whole summer and leaving the a/c off. I think I'd rather pay the cost of the a/c than come back to possibly a home filled with mould - that is my worry.

We have 3 double bedrooms, a maids room which is en-suit but no study. At the bottom of every building is a little play-park and as I am not on the "sea" side I am watching the construction of a large park that will go down the centre of the Palm. Looks like it will be good when it's finished.

Our tenancy renewal has now passed and we refused to pay, and STILL nothing has happened, I mean nothing................so we now live rent free and not a word from anyone - unbelievable!!!

Just make sure you reheat to a really hot temp - any naughty organisms will be killed by the heat - I too have done this many times with no adverse reactions.

I also a wonder a little when people say things are so much better with kids in boarding school, who is it really better for? That you would even ask that.............you have no idea.

I am very happy to say that, hand on heart, I think the schooling here can be tip-top, it can be ahead of the UK, it can be just right for the majority of children who are being educated here, but, just as boarding isn't for all, neither is Dubai. It would take me a whole evening to explain to you why I decided to send the children back to the UK. I am very happy with my decision, and it doesn't have to be justified to anyone. It is nothing to do with any ONE school, it is not because I don't like my children, it is not because I have a high-flying career and, just to put a cherry on it, I am a teacher. Horses for courses.

Whilst I know that boarding school is not for every child or every family, it's absolutely fantastic for some. It certainly works for us, might be worth popping along, with an open mind, and take a peek.

Anyone on Shoreline any further forward? Any LL's paid up? We are in exactly the same position as we were a month ago with the LL "sorting things out". As he owes in excess of AED160,000, am I kidding myself that he will ever pay up?? He's well out of things in UK, and not particularly concerned for our situation - takes ages to answer emails. He might show more interest when the contract comes up for renewal but that's some months away.

It was great......it did feel a little like a classroom, but apart from that, just like any normal salon. I was offered tea/coffee/water, given a pile of mags, the DD had her hair washed, cut and blow dried by a fairly confident young lady, without a "teacher" present. All took about 50mins, and the cost.............wait for it............50AED!!!! DD is very happy with cut, as am I. Will be making an appointment for myself shortly. Result! I'd say, and big thanks to october!! eta: they only do children over 12, apparently. edited by Ali.K on 03/01/2012

It's best to keep things simple when you're new to running. And that's not Intervals Izzy, where are the intervals?
