Hi there I live currently on alma in. 3/4 bed semi. I love it for its location very family friendly out my back gate straight to shop within minutes. Golf course round the corner for a cheeky breakfast very now and again too. I love that everyone uses there feet on the ranches :-) . Using the entrance by the shop onto emirates road heading to dubai and mirdif is very easy before 7.30am after that school traffic for jess. Using the other entrance near dubai polo club can get exceptionally busy and I've waited in traffic for a good 20 mins at 7.30 am onwards. However I take kids to school in jumeriah and takes 20/25 minutes to get to dubai mall. Coming back same time scales. Potentially better time scales than people in the marina on sheik zayed road in the morning.

I've searched previous threads for suggestions but still struggling to find reasonable quality / price nursing chairs. Babyshop ones currently in stock are pretty hideous; apparently they have a leather one not in stock that might be better, but no idea when they'll get more of these. Just kidding have nothing. Pottery barn and Bellini have nice ones but soooo expensive for what they are. Any other suggestions of where I can try? Have checked dubizzle for second hand as well, with no joy. It's times like these I REALLY miss John Lewis! Hi I wanted a chair for feeding baby I went to pan emirates on umm sequim road and bought a high back chair they have a few it looks lovely very comfortable too and it can be used in the living room once finished in baby's room as its cream colour. Worth a try 1st floor normally located as hall chairs. If u want ill send u a picture of mine so you can see before you go looking to see if its what your after x

I just found out am pregnant and at the same time that my obgyn Dr Britt has left Dubai. I also heard that it is only temporary and she will be back. Does anyone have any more news on this? It took me a long time to find someone I could trust here and who would answer all my questions patiently... am gutted especially since now my list of questions has suddenly become endless! Hi there I'm now under dr Anne Phillip was under dr Britt she's left for a few months to sort personal circumstances out possibly back after summer. X

I have recently moved to Dubai and just recently found out I am pregnant with my first baby. I am now looking for recommendations for an excellent doctor for my first pregnancy and delivery. I have read reviews recommending the Mediclinic Hospitals, but would also be open to other suggestions. Please let me know if you have had a great doctor for your pregnancy and delivery that you would recommend. Hi firstly congratulations on becoming pregnant. I am under dr Anne Phillips at the city hospital everything up to now has been fantastic. I was seeing dr Britt claussen but she has just left to return to for a short while she made me feel very at ease and welcoming the nurses are great. I had a tour Of the postnatal ward and labour ward last Friday it was all very smart and clean and not too busy. Variety of midwifes various nationalities and wide range of languages but mainly British and South African. It's not midwife led like the UK everything goes by the doctor. This is my third pregnancy but first in UAE. I'm due June 26th so imminent . I've heard fantastic reviews about deliveries in the hospital but I'd advise a tour so you can see for yourself. .. Hope this helps. X

When I confronted them they actually refused to admit it, when I called the management and made a big deal they finally admit that every time they took my son away they bottle fed him. Explained a lot to why he refused to breastfeed, he just wasnt hungry. Goodness KenzaB, that is utterly atrocious, I would have been absolutely livid. Beyond livid in fact. Awful that you went through that. I've heard a few stories along those lines which is why I've never let any of my babies out of my sight in the hospital. Along with instructions in chart that my baby is not to be taken from my room without me going too. Which didn't stop me waking one night to find a nurse walking out the door with my baby. I hit the roof. I found the 'we know best' attitude of some of the nurses appalling. I'm under dr Anne at city hospital so far so good I had the tour of the postnatal and labour ward all is well looks very smart and clean. I written up my birth plan which states baby is not to be taken from me at any point. I was reassured this will not happen . City. Hospital no longer have a nursery the baby stays with you at all times :-) they have a lactation consultant and also a group to attend during the week for extra support. I'm due to deliver my third baby first in the UAE in June. I hope my info helps. You can take a tour every Friday at 11am and 4pm sharp.

Congratulations :-) I had my first two in UK so was slightly daunting thinking of giving birth abroad. However I made an appointment at city hospital with dr Britt claussen who is fantastic. Although not here for my birth I'm now under dr Anna Phillips . I've felt like I'm in safe hands all staff are brilliant. It's worth taking a tour on Friday at 11am meeting in main entrance. I've also heard fantastic reviews of al zahra hospital which is run by British midwifes they have the birthing stools etc unlike city may be worth a look too. X

Is Al Zahra the hospital right off of Sheikh Zayed by any chance? Near opposite side of the Gems School? (or am I way off) Yes that's the one :-)
