Hi, Planning DH birthday end of the month and was wondering if there is an option to find somebody like that. It would be a large gathering and don't want him to slave over the BBQ. At the same time don't want to order a whole catering, just need somebody to come and grill?

Hi, just got my Chinese visa. Here are the requirements: http://dubai.chineseconsulate.org/eng/lsfw/qzyw/dlqz/ We did not have an invitation as it states there, but had a hotel booking instead. Once you have the required paperwork , go to the consulate here early in the morning. It is a long wait. They open at 9am. We got there 9 and it was full. Almost all nationalities need passport visa prior to arrival. We waited 2 hours , however once our number was up it only took 5 mins. We had the visas on the next day( paid for urgent) You can get visa on arrival only for Hong Kong, not mainland China ( again, this is for most, but not all nationalities, so please check ) HTH

I used : http://sandcastlekidz.com/ and was very happy with them. Not sure if they have clown, but they did decoration (princess theme) cake and had staff doing games for the kids.

We have had laminate flooring on top of the tiles in the last two houses for total of 5 years without any problems. Did the entire house without the kitchen, laundry rooms and bathrooms as laminate doesn't take water well. Both times we got it from Dragonmart and they come and install it for you. It takes just a day to do. There are many companies inside Dragonmart that sell it and the price depends on the type of laminate you choose and its calculated per sq. meters ( including underlining, skirting, fixing etc) HTH

Wow, I just logged on since last evening and it was great to see so many replies. Thank you ladies for all the great suggestions! PS The only reason I added "cultural" was because back home was a common practice to give an expensive bottle of Champaigne coupled with a box of chocolates. This is obviously inappropriate here :) Thank you!

I do not think you can pay per class in FF. I am a member and the only way to get friends in is with the pass that Shilpa was reffering to. If you are planning to do lots of classes FF is good value for money, however if it is for just twice a week may not be justified. You could try Al Areej club , which is close to DFC FF( Next to Al Badia) . There you pay per class and do not need to be a member. They have Zumba, Yoga etc. HTH
