Thanks everyone for your tips on getting rid of and preventing more ticks. I will check with our vet today about getting a preventic collar and we'll keep using frontline each month. I'm trying not to get too paranoid about this (although my husband would disagree and say I'm freaking out), but it does worry me that the dogs could get a disease from these nasty ticks. I'll wait and see if I can get this under control before bringing in the pest control bomb. Benchmark gave me a quote of AED 600 for the house and garden, but we need to vacate for 24 hours. I haven't seen loads of them in the house and hope they are just sneaking in from outside.
By the way, we live near Safa Park and have a small garden which seems to be where they are picking them up. Nasty things!
Thanks for letting me know about the Pet Connection. Will keep them on my phone in case of emergency. I also found out yesterday at Al Safa Vet that they have an after hours service at 0508817048. Not sure what they charge, but hopefully it's less the 750.
