Pentel I have a kitten and a 21 mtg DD you can have. The kitten is a delight and DD is very 'challenging' she love the kitten esp when she can get hold of her and carry her around with one arm under her tummy and the other around her throat! edited by AndreaA on 06/02/2011

Would anyone have directions to the pet show tomorrow? Have no clue where the sevens venue is...TIA If you know how to get to the outlet mall you're sorted simply drive past the outlet mall heading away from Dubai and it's just up on the right a little bit.

And, dare I say it, but my cat loves playing with tampons! She always rummages through my drawers and tears apart a whole pack and delights in chasing them around the room... Just make sure you put them away before any visitors arrive! edited by Water baby on 03/02/2011 Lol thats so funny! I got her some little balls today but she was totally disinterested so I got DD (almost 2) to run around the living room trailing a skipping rope behind her. They both enjoyed it and hopefully DD will sleep all the better for it :-)

A quick update for you, puss was back at the vets this morning for a checkup and to see if she was well enough to have a general so they could dray her legs. Unfortunately the vet still isn't happy her lungs are perfectly clear so we've postponed it for a week to see if she improves enough to do it then. She's quite happy in hassle and as sweet and loving as ever she just needs some rest. We are knowing keeping her in or only allowig her out when we are here to watch her. SamD my evening involved a little too much vino but was much more than the previous one thanks :-) x Ps can anyone recommend a good place to get pet things pls (I'm new to all the pet care :-) ) edited by AndreaA on 02/02/2011

I'm sad to say I am concerned for my children and they will not be allowed anywhere near them. I am still stunned by the whole experience to be honest!

Freckles if you need anything contact us on facebook, that's what we're here for. Puss is at the vets, they have checked her and she's ok but they say it can catch up on her. Apparently lung/drowning issues can't happen up to 3 days after the event. I'll keep you posted. X

The funny thing is the principle behind the fairy godmother has been proven so well by this thread. It's about helping someone who asks for help instead of judging them! it's not a bad principle to live by

Andrea,I realise your upset and angry with what has happened to your family pet.Your first post indicated that the cat was scared out its wits and was unable to stand properly(wobbly).I am nobody and my pedestal doesnt even have a swivel yet ..but if you are really concerned about the health of your animal that was Stuck in a drain hole of a swimming pool..I am just surprised that nothing has been done this evening to see if the cat is injured or has swallowed water..and subsequently after your post about how angry and upset you are and how bad the kittens health seemed to be by your own admissions and then saying that you can't personally take it to the vets because you have an event that you need to be filmed at ... My concern is for the welfare of the kitten..if you are stuck and you want it to see a vet now then I am more than prepared to help out one struggling mother in dubai.. Thank you for the offer but on this occasion I will decline!

HHHmmmm I wonder if you live in the compound that I used to live in...... If you need a hand with the kitty I maybe able to run it to the vet. Modern Vet clinic is very close to you. If it is you are lucky to be out of it! We are moving asap as the children as just dreadful! I am indeed worried about my own little ones not just Puss! They don't play anywhere near these children even if i'm there to watch them.

OK, AA, giving you 15 mins to phone a friend/vet/oddbins delivery service and then calling it a night on the computer. You can still avail the services of your own fairy godmother up until 10.30 if necessary. :) The dog has thrown up in my car often enough, your little kitten can bring it on. Hey, anyone want to buy a Volvo that smells like Pal and tuna? ;0) Thanks so much Sam, I need a fairy god mother...did you just offer? Hugs and a cuppa much needed right now :-(

Think LivelyTrish is a vet nurse, so worth listening to? Will still come and take her if you think she needs it? Won't have car tomorrow, can someone else offer to take her tomorrow? Sam thanks, i've called the vets, i'll take her in tomorrow as soon as I possibly can. By the way the Soiree is actually a voluntary event i've organised to help out mums here who are struggling to cope so not just your common a garden coffee morning or P**s up. I do take having a pet these things seriously

If she ate.........she's probably ok, the wobbliness may well be stress or some jarring , just keep her warm calm and cuddled, tomorrow a vet can check her lungs etc, Cats are tougher than they look. You've all been through a very nasty experience, sending a cyberhug. Thanks, Livelytrish, it's been a **** evening not sure I deserved that rant :-(

Chocs she's alert, playing, purring etc. so although I want to get her checked to me she doesn't seem distressed etc I have been watching her closely all evening and trust me if I thought she was suffering in anyway i'd get the kids up and take her i'm really not that bad a person. Thanks so much SamD I really appreciate it, i'll call the vet and see what they think

Your kitten will always eat tuna - However .. if it's not standing on its own four paws or wobbly - you need to get it to the vets this evening - NOW - your kitten will possibly not survive the evening if it has chlorinated water in it's lungs......... I'm shocked its not already at the vets......... and I'm even more shocked that you can't fit it into your schedule tomorrow .....Fairy God mother My A$$ .........I'm thinking your actions by not putting the kitten under observation at the vets immediatly after the incident that your being as cruel as the child ..... What exactly would you have me do with my children this evening??? As for my other commitments tomorrow I was asking if someone could help me out if they can't then I will get her to the vets but who do you think you are to talk to me like that! I have two small children who come before anything! If you have nothing constructive to say sod off! edited by AndreaA on 31/01/2011

Wow this saga gets better! It seems the older child is the victim of bullying from another child in our compound who is would you believe only 5 but a real nasty piece of work! She admitted right away doing it and became rather distressed about it. Anyone her parents are also upset and have agreed to cover vets bills ec where necessary. I have a massive logistical issue with getting Puss to the vets tom as I am also hosting the first Fairy Godmother coffee morning and as the founder I can't miss it it's being filmed so I have to be there. If anyone out there in Umm Sequim nr Spinney's would consider taking Puss to the vets on my behalf id be eternally grateful as would Puss.

How old is the child...........and I know I shouldn't ask, but what nationality (and before anyone starts, it makes a difference.) She's about 8 and English! Unfortunately it's an open garden for 13 villas with a shared pool although we do all have our own patio which is where she took the cat from. They have a dog so I shall be asking if they would like me to repeat the practise and see if they like it!

A little girl did this? WOW...she certainly wasn't made of sugar and spice and everything nice was she?!....Shocking!!!. I hope your little kitty is ok and the little brat gets in a heep of trouble. When i've finished with her she won't so much as look in the direction of my house let alone my kids or my kitten! I'm still fuming an hour later! :\:

I have had a few of the compound children confirm it was her and that a younger child was also there. The mother of the younger one has apologised and told the child off also offered to pay towards the vets bill. The monster is currently out with her parents. Is there an animal cruelty department here?

I'm so angry I wouldn't mind I don't even like cats but she's my 2 year olds little kitten and she's so terrified she won't come out from under the table. Her parents will get tomorrows vet bill that's for sure.

I usually gee myself up and manage to get through the day. Unless, of course, something goes wrong - I drop something, I kick the buggy wheel, I can't get the door open - and then I go into meltdown mode and get funny looks. With you on that, inearly best into tear whilst registering DS late for school the other day (DH had accidentally buggered off with the car seats!) and Th woman at the desk was really nice but mentioned I looked a little tired....trigger tears and a desire to hide from the world whilst eating chocolate :-)

Well it seems it's not just me who employed a thieving *****. glad it wasn't much Did you get yours on the plane Sunday? Yes thankfully she is out of here with a years ban, like others though I am miffed that she steals loads of our stuff, borrows money which we will never see again and then we still have to pay for her sodding flight! Oh and apparently she's a good god fearing woman! My ****!!! Ah well what goes around comes around eh ;-) I now have a roach infestation and a child with hand, foot and mouth to deal with, it never rains but it pours huh!

I hear ya! What you need to try to explain to him is if you aren't consistent he will favour one over the other and therefore if your husband goes out you will have a real nightmare getting him to bed which really isn't fair. If you aren't working as a team now things will be even harder as time goes on. Good luck with it all x

My sympathies go out to you - I am in a similar position and because my maid was part time, I haven't a leg to stand on. She has stolen very valuable jewellery from me, after receiving only the best of treatment from me and being with me for 2 years. I am very sad and disappointed because I trusted and liked her. I haven't posted before because I know what EW will say as she was part time, so I am just commenting that I know how you feel - betrayed and very disappointed.:( Thanks, you're right about disappointed and violated too, to think she went through all of my clothes to see which ones she wanted before taking them! Then to do the same to the children, i'm glad she's gone! There are people here to just love to pick up on these things it doesn't matter if your maid was full or part time she's still betrayed your trust and hurt you. I'm really sorry, is there any chance of recovering any of the stuff?
