sometimes its good for them to go alone..only once my Dh has gone for a trip with his friends to beirut in last 2 yrs of marriage...and he doesn't even think now because he felt lonely and bad leaving me here alone :) (offcourse after he was back i went to my home country for few days, which made him more lonely). i was sceptical at first but then i let him go..just be careful that it doesn't become a habit. we have an understanding if he requires a guys only holiday and there are few places where he'll defiintely get bored with me...but i have limited his holidays as to how many he can have :) so just chill and let him go...

Walk along the beach then sit and watch the world go by. oh i just love that..and a drive on jumeirah road...open beach at jumeirah has rocks at the back..nice place to sit and away from lights and hustle bustle :) just listen to water lapping at the rocks and chatting with your partner. so calming!!ahhh!

well meena bazaar is the place for them...see for the shops near jeweller's like damas and khushi...they have less priced clothing than the ones in other places for the same designs..few months back i had ti buy few outfits too but the ones which i liked were breaking the account in aed's :) so didn't bought any and got few from India only. they are too costly here..u might find few...just search the bazaar. or you can goto monsoon and see if you can mix and match anything?

better to get fresh coconuts 1-2 times a week rather than bottled. but in spinneys you can find bottled. fresh ones i buy either from vegetable market in deira or in la madina stores.

we checked rates for local hotels during eid and were very disappointed... places like Le Meridien Al Aqah (Fujairah) were charging close to AED 2000/- per night hence we decided to do a trip out of town... going for a short break to Turkey for the 4 nights... the tickets cost us AED 2000/- on FlyDubai plus an extra AED 500/- per person for the rooms... our friends have decided to join us so now we're a bandwagon of 13 adults and 4 kids going on this short break i think i'll look into turkey...want someplace cooler..enough of tanning and hot holidays this year :)

they should have given a post dated cheque that way they could have blocked it. why did they gave the cheque in first place?? is it their first time in dubai coz agents fees is around 5000....and before signing contract no fees is given! there is no way around this problem if they don't have any record or reciept. do they know RERA id no of the agent?

we have just returnd last week from koh samui...lovely place..ahh!!memories :) we stayed at prana resorts (qvi club). you can look at either on chaweng beach or bophut beach. anantara on bophut is lovely (although bit pricey). amari is good. you might want to hire a jeep or a scooter once you are there. i can recommend some very good restaurants. i would be happy to help if you require :)

well...me too not package kind of a person but there are some places where it is safe to book from a tour company rather then getting stripped of money :) jaipur is a nice place full for culture, shopping, history, palaces, elephant rides,etc...large no of hotels to choose from in budget..air arabia goes directly from sharjah.sep onwards season would be fine. right now its hot and rain season will start soon. there is one website www.snapdeal.com check for getaways in that. they have some good places, also on www.makemytrip.com. you can copy itinerary from there :) also see this website...select a place then you can book on your own... http://www.touristplacesinindia.com/ edited by manubhadauria on 17/07/2011

i can guide you with India little bit but it depends what sort of holiday you are looking for? india is huge and different climate. so you want a hill station holiday or as you said cultural or just realxing? plus it depends solely on budget too. one option you can look for is golden triangle which has delhi-agra-jaipur. hill stations like kullu manali, shimla, dalhousie are beautiful. Jaipur is full of history. as for sri lanka if you go south you have all the beaches there with water sports and relaxation. like bentota, unawatuna, hikkaduwa. towards north there is kandy (which i want to see :)) which is a hill station, nuwara eliya tea plantation, then one place which is full of old temples i don't remember the name..its anuradhapura. :)

thanks for pointing out all the scams...my DH has already falllen for armani scam but thankfully he paid 150 only :D as for that oman registration one...few months back we were taking a stroll after dinner and was approached by well dressed arabs only they had children with them. but fortunately my dh noticed the gold watch on his hand and his broken english and my hubby's inability to understand the accent saved us :) now no more nightingale!

hey scribs...i have had fibroadenomas for few years now and they were painful in the starting few months...now also after 6 years of diagnosis they become painful once in a while. i do get the regular check ups done and they have decreased in size over the years.i have had the needle biposy and frankly i was terrified at that time more for the results than for the procedure :) so far i had checkup from various gp's and none has suggested for the surgery. wish u all the best.

for media city and mirdiff membership is platinum with 499 per month. then in others there are two categories one for all time which i pay about 389 or 399 and other for women which is of lower price and has access to club only till 3 pm. you can try and bargain with the representatives as when we renewed our membership we were given 2 months free plus 14 days guest passes. edited by manubhadauria on 11/07/2011

i would second booking.com. don't got to agoda.com as they have rates higher then other websites. also you can check on laterooms.com. for hostels all over the world there is a separate website. can't remember exactly as have never booked from there. but it starts with hostels :) its hostelsworld.com edited by manubhadauria on 11/07/2011
