here on one of the forum one member adviced to keep bay leaves in the cupboard. i kept them and now after reading your post i wonder is that's why i am unable to see roaches in my cupboard. although they still jog on my slap :(

I guess you've never lived in Dubai Arch Tower - the week we were there I was killing 5 or 6 a day if not more. The booking agent seemed unconcerned when I phoned about it, saying "oh their back again are they?" I re-named it Cockroach Towers. :D

my Dh took me to the mall of the emirates ... he bought me a steam iron ............ 15 sets of wooden hangers .............. and a knife block with the knifes having the sharpest edges in the world............. Now i'm deciding .... whilst he's watching the football ......... which suit to chop one leg off and which shirt to ACCIDENTLY iron mark .......................... LOL... :) mine also gave me a knife set along wth symthng else..umm...he said he wanted to gift me a knife set frm long because i am a good cook ( inspired by masterchef australia i guess) wat complain i have...besides other gift ws perfect....u really have a gd sense of humour :)

I made Valentines dinner at home a couple of years ago and made crabcakes for starter, spaghetti carbonara for main course (I know this contains pork but you can substitute if you don't eat it) and then I made individual apple and blackberry crumbles with custard for dessert and I found some little heart shaped tins for them. I suppose it depends on whether you both have any favourites - for example if you like Italian then homemade pizzas can be delicious, for Indian you could do a curry in a slow cooker or slow cook in the oven. Fondue is always a fun thing to do for a nice dinner as well - either a cheese one for main course or a chocolate one for dessert. have thought of fondue...but rest all is confusing..as for carbonara....my DH is very fond of italian so guess i would be making some pasta only :)

it's fine at night. the troubles ended a while ago (in fact the war was at fever pitch the day i landed there and i never felt unsafe at all - and i was a woman travelling on my own.) if you don't mind sleeping/dpzing in the car you can go straight to kandy. i arrived at about 3 am and did exactly that, stopping off at the elephant orphanage on the way. it's tiring but if you're trying to cram a lot in then worth it i think. to be honest i was so excited to be there (it's so amazing) that i stayed awake all the way through. i am also getting excited after reading your post :)

sounds good...i don't want to go to beach.just countryside. we are landing at coloumbo airport at midnight and are thinking of taking a driver and go down to negombo and stay there for the night. then from there we can go to kandy.is it safe to travel at night? although i have been told that colombo is 1 hr drive and negombo 20 min drive.

u cd try any ladies tailor...i went to one in meena bazaar but didn't remeber the name..she altered my jeans and one dress and charged 10 dhms per alteration (if i remember correctly) . after crossing musalla tower straight on that road there is one little tailor shop,after one sweet shop too. hope this helps.

for my DH's 30 i booked seaplane adventure which he loved, took him to magnolia restaurant, booked a massage. he was happy and relaxed. and for the gift i gave him his fav wine and an engraved stopper for that.

Yes, they're different. The ones from Spinneys aren't Scotch pancakes either though! As DubaiCat says, they're smaller and thicker but they're also not as sweet. I've got my Granny's recipe if you'd like it (dashing out now for the school run and afternoon activities). Maybe I should make some this afternoon for Burns night :) i love pancakes anytime of the day.. :) and wd love to have your recipe if u want to share. and yes i tried from spinney's only...but my DH didn't liked them coz they were too thick.

One thing I like is to do is drizzle a tablespoon of Hershey Chocolate syrup on a small-to meduim, nicely sliced banana. It is less than 150 calories and is super satisfying--the banana is filling and the chocolate drizzle makes it feel naughty--sweet tooth? Satisfied! wow :D :D

Bored tooooooooooo!!!! Waiting for a start date for a new job...... was fun for the first few weeks now I am just bored silly!!!! No kids, nothing to clean up, apartment has never been so spic n span ...... have cooked just about every meal in my repertoire plus a zillion new dishes for DH when he gets home from work ...... am so bored even interesting things seem boring!!! Really should at least get out of my dressing gown and drag myself away from the lappy ....... that'll take oh at least 10 mins!! Arrrggghhh!!! Wow! These r just my thoughts! Have been thinking from past 1 hr to at least leave lappy and getting a shower or should I hit gym? Still thinking ;)

Didnt feel a thing, so what time did it hit Dubai I was up till 2am!!!! Around 12.30 I had just gone to bed was quite scary lol Yeah it was really scary and when I woke up my DH he said yeah and went back to sleep

Look for the customer service centre of your laptop. Otherwise there are lots of shops in AL Mussalla , AL AIn shopping malls bur Dubai. Also when you go to York international hotel in bur Dubai itself I have seen a lots of shop. Might be of help.

i have a Alico gold card provided by DH's company.. so far Alico is very good with approvals and gets them within 1-2 days and i had a lots of tests done in last 8 months. doctor's also say that Alico is best for getting approvals.

And if you want think I have got a coupon in gulf news book for that.
