Somewhere in the Emirates my sister in law is grinding her teeth... It drives her insane that Karama sells JC, she buys all of her things original from the stores and is furious when she has spent a fortune on something then sees someone walking down the street in a knock off as though they're rocking the real deal. Don' even get me started on Ralph Lauren... Can't see the problem SIL knows hers is genuine who cares what anyone else is carrying/wearing/thinking??? edited by angela on 31/01/2012

If your child needs a tutor to help pass entrance exam perhaps it's not the right school for them?

I did read it all just because the company hold debentures doesn't mean it's the preferential school or mean that you will get a place

In the latest announcement in gulf news it also states that if your visa expires in 2012 it will be done upon renewal. Ours expire in July and as my daughter turns 15 in June I'm going to wait till renewal

With EK employees and dependants - are they being fined Dhs20 daily up to the day they apply or till when they actually receive their ID card? Also, has anyone (EK) applied recently from outside EGHQ and got fined or is it only when you apply at EGHQ that they're applying these fines? I'm going to an authorised typing centre tmw so will let u know! Where do u actually pay the card fee along with the 30dhs for typing or when fingerprinting - does anyone know? edited by angela on 16/01/2012

It can all be done at HQ, the trick is that you have to go really early in the morning to get a ticket. They only dispense 142 tickets per day. We went last week at had to wait four and a half hours. We got there at 6:45 am and had numbers 45, 46 and 47. Take some books and some snacks and something to listen to and you should be okay. The dispenser opens at 6 am. Don't forget your passports!! Exact cash helps too. edited by cafe au lait on 15/01/2012 OMG sounds like a nightmare! Did they know you'd already filled in an application or did u have to tell them? So the tix machine opens at 6 but what time do they start to process and do u need a tix for each application ie kids who aren't there? Sorry for all the qs

My favourite seafood reastaurant is Mahi Mahi in Wafi, the food is lovely, and a nice fish market to select the fish you'd like to be cooked, you also tell them excatly how you want it. Think that's closed now it's called W or something like that

Thanks for the replies I guess she will just have to be proactive and go and source somewhere as far as I am aware it has to be minimum of 12 1hr sessions for this part and as she's not sporty can't even help out with any sporting things. Pity trawling through facebook for hours on end doesn't count :)

I use online check in for cat a as it will tell u how many others on s/by as I said. U then go to staff check in as normal if you're lucky they may check u straight in if not there are seats there and they will give u a time to come back to the desk.

Whats the difference between Concrete and Fiberglass pools? TIA One is made of concrete and the other from fibreglass lol :) Seriously though the fibreglass ones are made off site and pre tiled and arrive on a crane ready to drop in place. I presume the concrete ones are built in situ

I know I will get lynched for saying this, but do any of these tests ever tell you that you aren't allegic to anything? Just as an update to my post a couple of weeks ago my daughter has been following the diet for 3 weeks but last Friday we went 4 brunch and she had a blow out on all the forbidden foods and got all the skin rashes again next day so it's def very effective testing. Can't comment on the reintroduction though ! edited by angela on 12/09/2011

I received this email from hotmail a couple of days ago don't know if it's what is causing the probs but mine only working sometimes too? Hi, You are receiving this note because you have connected to Hotmail from devices such as smartphones or programs like Mac Mail and Mozilla Thunderbird. These smartphones and programs often include an option that automatically deletes messages from Hotmail after they are downloaded (they often use the "POP3" protocol). Because this option is sometimes selected accidentally, we've made some updates to Hotmail to make sure that those messages aren't deleted automatically unless you tell us otherwise. What's changing? When we detect that another program wants to delete Hotmail messages, instead of just deleting them, we will move them into a temporary POP folder on www.hotmail.com for safe keeping until you tell us what you'd like to do. What do you need to do? Depending on how you'd like messages to show up when you access Hotmail on the web, please take one of the following actions: If you want to delete messages from the web version of Hotmail after they are downloaded to your program, sign in to www.hotmail.com and choose "POP and deleting downloaded messages" on the Options page. If you'd like to see your messages on both your Hotmail inbox at www.hotmail.com and on your smartphone or program, open the program that's downloading the messages and go to its POP settings. Look for a "delete messages from the server" option and turn it off. Please note that this does not affect smartphones or programs that connect to Hotmail in other ways (e.g. smartphones with Exchange ActiveSync, Microsoft Outlook with Outlook Hotmail Connector or Windows Live Mail). Questions? Visit the Windows Live Solution Center. Thank you for using Windows Live Hotmail. Yours Sincerely, The Hotmail Team As part of this new offer, Microsoft may provide feature tips and product information, but there will continue to be no third party advertising.
