Ever since I started this pregnancy, I have been so scared due to my age (40). I read a lot on the net and decided to go for down syndrome screening.
I was so nervous that I had to search for a clinic who can enlighten me and give me full info so I may decide correctly. I learned about the Feto Maternal and Genetics Center in Dubai Healthcare City and booked for a consultation. I was given an appointment with their Genetic Counselor Kathleen. She was so helpful explaining to me as well as answering all my queries. Since I was on my 10th week of pregnancy that time, I opted for NIPT. I could not wait anymore for the double marker test and nuchal scan which can be done from 11th week. Their test is called neoBona, I paid 3000AED all in - including the lengthy talk with Kathleen:biggrin:
The result came after 8 days (I was told results will be ready in 10 days!). I was so relieved to receive the excellent news via phone call from Kathleen herself that everything is alright! At least, I did not have to go for an amnio which is having a risk for miscarriage...I am lucky to get pregnant at 40 with my first and for sure my only baby, I won't be happy to go invasive. I am now due for my anatomy scan..
