Below is part of an email that I received in October 2014 sent via Richard Reyes Patient Coordinator with the subject "Cancellation of Clinic" "It is my sad task to inform you that due to restraints imposed by The American Academy and the lowering of insurance price tariffs for his services Mr Reyes has been forced to close his clinic in Dubai." I have no further information as to his whereabouts, but can definitely highly recommend Dr Houriya Kazim.

Both my husband & I managed to confirm that we were on the Electoral Register where we own a property & received ballot papers in Dubai, with a return pre-paid 1st class UK envelope, however since they only send these out no earlier than ten days prior to the Election, I collected them from our mail box last Thursday having checked daily, and they are supposed to be received in the UK not later than 10.00pm Thursday evening the 7th in order to be valid. We had friends leaving yesterday, so sent the forms back with them, but still no guarantee that they will arrive in our Constituency in time. It seems a very antiquated system and unlikely that overseas votes will count, simply because they will not be received in time.

I have previously seen Moira MacDonald (British) at the Osteopathic Health Centre. She manages problems associated with Lymphoedema. I saw her after surgery for breast cancer which is an area that she focuses on, however perhaps she can offer you guidance for your specific concern. You can read about her qualifications on their website. All the best for finding relief from your discomfort.

I am also the secondary card holder & collected our book yesterday from the Marina Promenade branch. The agent I dealt with told me that the primary card holder does not need to be present, they only require his/her name & the account number in order to reconcile this information in their computer against who the book is assigned to. I gave him my credit card for identification and he gave me the book without issue.

Homely Petz cover the Marina area and offer a discount if you have a Dubai Marina Mplus+ 'Love Where you Live' community benefits card. If I recall correctly I think its 10% excluding public/private holidays.

I used Al Barsha Veterinary Clinic last year and they offered a pick up and drop off service to and from the Marina for an additional fee. I don,t recall the exact charge but am sure they can give you a quotation based on your location.

I have used the services of Homely Petz three times in the past year & will be doing so again in July. On each occasion I have had a different pet sitter & have chosen to meet them all in our apartment before going away to introduce them to our two cats, one of whom is very friendly & one of whom is very timid which is one of the reasons why I chose Homely Petz to avoid the upheaval & disruption of taking them to a cattery. Time frames have varied from a week and over, & as a previous poster mentioned I too have not studied their business practices in depth, but each time I have been throughly satisfied & confident with their services & checks & our cats have been content & happy when we returned home & the apartment & their litter box & food areas all clean & tidy. Depending on the length of our trip our dedicated sitter has communicated by either email or text messages & sometimes both. They will reply reasonably promptly if you send an email via their website, & I believe their current charges are AED100 per day for one visit for a cat/s. Personally I have always had a positive experience with them & their service & what they offer has met mine & my cats needs.

For: Sprinkles 17 - Whilst I am not the original poster, I would like to add my thanks for making me aware of the Consumer Rights Department of which I had no previous knowledge. I,d had an ongoing issue with Cobone since April requesting a refund for a vendor that kept cancelling appointments and despite numerous ticket numbers, many calls, messages on their website, it remained unresolved, until on your recommendation I contacted Ahlan Dubai & after filing a complaint with them I received follow up calls from both them & Cobone & the case was closed within two days and our refund has already been credited back to our credit card so many thanks for that advice!

I was at the 7,s yesterday with my husband and it was a perfectly pleasant and civilized day until the early evening when he got hit on the head by a can thrown from elsewhere in the stands and a fight broke out several rows in front of us, and the security personnel in the yellow shirts did nothing, therefore we regrettably left early. I did see the odd Police presence but we elected not to make any type of complaint as there was no proof where the can had actually been thrown from and at that point we simply wished to leave which was a shame and a rather sad end to a good day.

As a cat lover I am so very sorry to read about your experience, but you gave her the best gift possible - that of a home, love and the decision to not allow her to suffer unnecessarily. Over the years I have had to put two cats to sleep for various reasons and latterly one who died naturally at home after 17 years with us and four Countries so I know how you are feeling. I have very recently moved to Dubai from Vietnam and brought two Vietnamese fostered and then adopted abandoned and rescued street cats with me who are now quite the pampered pets, although one is still very timid and nervous from her experiences in her early life. Your cat is now in peace and you will always remember her and the joy she brought to your family. All the best to you - Anna.
