Service charges depends on the area you are in the Ranches.. we in Saheel pay as much as 16K per year. I would believe that the other areas like Mirador, Alvorada, Hattan etc.. can be as much as 20K annually if not more. As for monthly billing for DEWA average for a small conservative family with a medium size lawn in 3500 per month. Service charges is based on a percentage of amount paid on the purchase of the house. (But i stand corrected on this)

Thanks ladies for your suggestions.. will look into it. Our church does their bit but not much involvement there for the kids either. Make across the Maria Christina Foundation that suports the kids in Dhaka but besides donations again there is no involvement. Hope I come across something worthy

I was disappointed to find that Ikea has run out of the Christmas stars and the big White Lanters for candles that I delayed buying. I am hoping to find them in teh Abu Dhbai branch. Does any one have a number for the Ikea in Yas Island?

I've personally tried Kaya, Dermacare and Dermalogica besides Silkor. This is my pennies worth feedback on each... Kaya is good but don't like the idea of them trying to sell you a whole package which is in most cases not really necessary.. I've got reasonably god skin and was still advised peels and microdermabrasion. Besides nearly every time i got a new theraist and I didn't come out feeling really good.. rather felt uglier than i went in. Treatments costs 300+ Dermacare - The therapists are good.. advise the right products. Loved my microdermabrasion there and the vitamin c treatment. Also tried one peel there as was very satisfied.. I try adn go back as regaularly as I can afford it. Treatments cost 250 onwards depending on the treatments Dermalogica - Didnt like the treatment area which is in a crner of the store and is pretty noisy as its an open store. Besides I use a wide range of dermalogica products daily and hence dont feel its much of a treatment when i go there. Also hate the attitude of one of the therapist there. Silkor - Is good too. However, they are very pricey and no extra advice like at Dermacare. Therapsts treat you for what you there for and nothing extra. I find it too commercial. But this is just my opinion..

I could add a few more to that list that is worthy of being banned... the gardeners here are useless and hardly gardeners.. Other than watering the plants and mowing the lawn theres not much else they do.

I needed curtains too for our new place and this is my feedback - I tried to contact Rafi but his phone seemed to have an international ring tone to it.. probably not in town. Jamal from Golden Scissors had a wierd tone to the phone.. did not even ring and no one answered the shop line. Shalini from Design Space - was super efficent even after work hours and very polite. Spoke excellent English and promptly sent me information on an email. Will be meeting her today... so will revert with more feedback on it. But seems very professional

How about Reiss they have great bags and fab quality one of my favorite brands. Also try FCUK and Ted Baker. Why not a shop around a big department store like Selfridges, Harvey Nichols and the likes... and buy a brand and style that suits your budget.

Try Garden Centre or any of the garden speciality stores. Royal Gardenscape is having a sale.. they are on the Barsha road, located half way between Marina Furniture and the signal before MOE.

There are quite a few of them in a batch but I wouldn't worry about that too much as they have enough of supervisors and activities for age specific. Like I said.. didnt see one unhappy face there. Alternatively if you are not too sure. Register them for just 3 days in a week for the first week .. see how it goes and then you can consider doing the full week if you child is up for it too and enjoys it.

I've got my 8 yo for just this week. And he was by himself with no friends.. I was concerned too but he had an absolute blast!!! Enjoyed all the activities. I stayed around for a bit to check out the workings. They have enough of young helpers around.. older students on summer jobs as well as a few older ladies. But all very switched on. The girls and boys are kept apart, atleast for the 6yo and above. THere were some young tots there and they were all happy not a soul looked stressed or unhappy there. There's loads of activities to keep them busy depending on their age group and ***. However, no new skills are taught to them. Its just a full day of sports activities. Make sure you pack enough for two snack breaks. Hope this helps!

Not sure about the salon in the community centre. But I go to Caractere in Motor city and have been extremely pleased. If I can add for Nails the next closest option for Tips and Toes that are always buys is CHI NAIL SPA also at Motor city at the end of the road further down from Spinneys (heading towards Abu Dhabi) on the opposite side of the road the last building on your right.

Love love love Phuket and our fav place is the Laguna. All the hotels there have great facilities, load of activities and its away from the busy centre of the city. You can always get a shuttle to Patong from any hotel that you stay at. I've got time share at the Laguna beach resort that I can gladly rent to you at a much better price offered to you from the hotel. Let me know if you decide with it and if this option is something you will consider.

Please reconsider your choice of tyres and do not compromise on the quality and brand. There's no real point then to have the high insurance premium with bad tyres. Even though several people have read and heard this all too often, they fail to recognize the fact that tires are the single link connecting their vehicles to the road, and hence proper care and attention should be directed towards selection of the right tire that has a good balancing capability and is sturdy enough on even the roughest road conditions. Thus if you are one of those people who try to save money by settling for a cheap and unbranded tire which is not entirely reliable and tested for its durability, then think again. It would be more sensible to buy tires from a reliable brand like Goodyear, in an affordable manner with the help of Goodyear tires coupons. Even the best quality engine, sophisticated chassis, superior build and make of your vehicle will be worthless if it does not have reliable and trustworthy tires and wheels. Ensuring that you have good quality tires would not only make every ride safer, but also offer your vehicle an enhance fuel economy and mileage. Also, you would be contributing to the cause of responsible and safe driving by avoiding breakdowns or accidents caused by misalignment of tires. Tires, because of the vital role they play in controlling your car -- a several thousand pound monster traveling at high speeds, need to be the best quality you can afford if you value the lives and safety of yourself and your passengers.

I had my ford escape tyres done at the 4x4 service centre and they were about 200 each - i just went for the cheapest option though, whatever that was. :) call them and ask hey? i've now stopped going and go to AAA in Umm Ramool instead, they may well be able to do you a good dea too. edited by denshort on 29/06/2011 it may seem like a good deal. But with the temperatures here and if its not a good quality tyre like a Michelin, Bridgestone, Good year and the likes then you are risking your life. Tyres are really important and with the heat here it can burst easy. I would never compromise on tyres. FYI - My colleague changed his Ford Escape tyres at the garage just before the service centre of Ford for AED 3100 for all four tyres.
