Mega Stitch... they are in Al Barsha near MOE. Opposite the big area of waste ground next to the post office and near the turning down to Lulu, they will fix anything :) Yes!! Have to second that too. Couldn't get the name earlier when i was making the recommendation.

We have been living in the Ranches for the past 6+ years and absolutely love it. I don't find accessing any other location too far from here. My son now 9 years uses the community pool regularly and never had a problem with any infection etc. Though I invariably have a problem with the temperature being too cold for my liking We have moved from Saheel to Al reem and have been here the past three years. We love the lake to walk the dogs and also there is a walking track at the back of Reem 3 & 1 that runs along the emirates road / global village. This is also where we regularly walk all of our three dogs off the leash and meet many friendly dog owners with their dogs running free. This is provided you have a friendly dog and are vigilant at all times about your dog. Its like a big doggie socialization park in the mornings and evenings. Met people there who have trekked their way there from Mirador and Savanah too. The vet at the Polo club which is a stone throw away is good and reasonable. Think he also provides dog sitting facilities. There is also a vet store in the ranches community centre and two in Motor city that also provide grooming. I think a few ladies do meet for the baby mornings but don't have much info on it. You wil meet tons of mums and babies around the parks and pools that you can befriend and get more information on socializing. Guess thats how we all started here. There is also a ranches ladies group that you can join. In the golf club they also have a variety of exercise lessons that you can attend without the need of being a member. Beside Exhale ladies fitness club and Fitness First are in Motor City and Optimal Fitness in Studio City. There is also option of membership at the Polo Club On a lazy day you can also have food delivered in from a wide choice of restaurants around the area. Or dine at the restaurants in the Polo club or Golf club. The medical facility by the community centre is good and convenient for emergencies and more. And the cherry on the top is having an A&E store on the community and MMI by Spinneys so no reason to run low on happiness ;-)) Hope this answers your questions.

Thanks. My husband has viewed a really nice villa in Alma today but I have now read on here that there is potential construction work in Alma?? Is this imminent? Can anyone please give me any more details. Thankyou Yes they are soon going to be building on phase 2 of Alma. We were keen on a purchase there but have decided to hold on. I personally prefer alma becoz of the close proximity to the community centre and entrance as well as the gold course. Atleast then don't have to drive my son up and down to most of the time. Makes a big difference when you have overseas guests and for the maid when you are traveling or for that matter even older kids.

We have a place in the Saheel type 8 and to answer your questions Get a gas cooker its more economical and pretty safe the cylinder is outside. To replace an empty cylinder it will take you half hour waiting time. Had to get rid of the cabinet door by the sink for the dishwasher, this was done by Emrill at that time in 2006. We had a lot of grass initially for the first year and a half and our bills were high. then we put in gravel on the side with a little bit of paving around. Tiled the outdoor bbq area and had only about 40% of the back yard in lawn. We are a family of three with the maid and pretty careful of our consumption, however our average bills were Aed 2500 to 4000 and this was in spite of installing ceiling fans in two of the main bed rooms that we used more often than the AC Hope this info helps

There are loads of companies out there that do it. Ideally do it before you move in and leave it closed for a day. It will get rid of a lot of stuff (like silver fish, ants, roaches etc) that you don't see in an empty space that pretty much looks clean.

Try Kachins in Bur Dubai, Meena bazar. Know quite a few friends who have got suits and tuxedos done there to perfection. the best part is that they also have some great fabrics. They also have a branch across from the Westin / Barasti by Carrefour Express. Call them and find out.

I just bought something in Virgin, with a small sticker price tag AEd145, peeled it off when I got home and the official Virgin pricetag was AED130. It's ridiculous what they get away with here. edited by mum2girls on 19/06/2012 Thats sooo typical!!! Or better still the weekend offer only, for it to return with yet another offer the following weekend or even have it priced lower during the week after the stupid weekend offer

I'm not too keen on KL. I find it too busy and limited stuff for kids. Asia is crowded and busy if you stay in the cities but the islands and highlands are beautiful and more relaxing. So if you want a nice relaxed holiday with things to do for kids too be prepared to travel within an Asian country of your choice. However, having said that the only great city which is very kid friendly and tons of activities for them is Singapore. Our personal favorite is Thailand, then a short hours flight to Phuket. We stay at the Dusit Laguna and you don't have to leave the laguna if you don't feel like it. Tons of activities for the kids

I've got over 6-7 Buddhas around my home. Some about here and the others all from trips overseas and never had a problem. I also once carried in with me a huge buddha canvas all rolled up and passed customs with it without being stopped.

Try dragon market... just some of the window displays were evident enough of it possibly being found there. Alternatively you can by a slinky lingerie from there and improvise with a small apron and feather duster. .. and NO I'm not into roll play, just creative.

Hope you taking it after meals, yogurt or plain cold milk with your meds will help. There are side effects to antibiotics in some cases and your symptom sounds like one of them. As also suggested a probiotic will help.

Did it last year for my son and his friend. Its absolutely great and highly recommended. Its all fun and exciting activities for kids especially if they haven't been to the attractions before. Well supervised and organized. The kids truly enjoyed it. I'm not enrolling him again this year as he's been there done that and I am this year looking for more focused learning camps like swimming, skating, piano lessons, drama etc

If you got your 4S from Du or etisalat they would have given you the micro sim with the phone. I wouldn't suggest cutting your sim fo rit to fit and suprised to hear that it works. You can get a micro sim from your service provider immediately over the counter, for your existing number. edited by Annedxb on 15/06/2012

Me!! I struggle big time too.. I have no energy to do anything besides I am invariably down with cramps so most often I take the day off and stay in bed. I take a Ponstan and a heated bag that relieves me from pain. Also increase my iron intake with tomatoes, spinach, dates and supplements.

I've not used one but have friends who have done so and swear by it. I'm still not sure but guess worth a try as you have nothing to loose other than some comfort. You get a nice one that I bought for my sis-in-law from Babyshop that you can wear while pregnant to support your belly and post pregnancy to bind it. Hope this helps!

I am scouting for summer camps with more structured kind of activities rather than the ones where they just play and do a whole load of none productive stuff. I bought the Time Out kids issue on summer camps and was really disappointed with the information and options provided in it.
