Has any one done it? The fabric on ours has given up the ghost but the structure itself is still sound, so am loathe to dispose of it entirely. I had thought maybe somewhere in Satwa or the likes could make us up a new covering, and was wondering if anyone had any rec.s. Was the fabric canvas up to scratch, was it a good job, how long did it take and how much was it? Thanks

Those sorts of things will never make it into your shipment...they're an explosion/fire hazard. I still grieve for my collection of oil paints left behind years ago.

Be careful, the rabid dogs will be on this thread telling you to go and burn an American flag soon. Bunch of low lives. I agree, I'd have liked to have seen him suffering when he was captured or after he was killed! Martin Luther King, Jr: 'I mourn the loss of thousands of precious lives, but I will not rejoice in the death of one, not even an enemy. Returning hate for hate multiplies hate, adding deeper darkness to a night already devoid of stars. Darkness cannot drive out darkness: only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate: only love can do that. It IS a lovely quote, but I was told yesterday it can be attributed to Yoda, not MLK, jr. Just saying ;)

Not that I know of, except for cheap basics at Geant. If youre looking for professional or better quality gear, head to MoE, up at DUCTAC there is a small but well stocked Art Supply shop.

Oh JS, I am in the same boat with our foster pup...I just cannot find the right home for her, and some people have my instincts standing on end, and I just have to go with that. I could not live with myself if this wee dog I have loved and nurtured and put A LOT of hard work into went to someone who would not care for her as well or better than us. I (and you) just have to believe that the right family is out there somewhere. And as for the donation? It's just another way of ascertaining their commitment to the animal...it's an important criteria when interveiwing a potential family. Good luck! PS: Loving the story of the cat crossing the road :)

me too please SD? I am absolutely terrified flying. I have been prescribed xanax for it, but i can't take it if I'm the only parent with lil miss, mores the pity. We flew through lightning storm once to Thailand...and I swear to god I still can tell whenever a storm is on it's way. Longest hours of my life ever, and passing out would have been a blessing. The only PDA's my hubby ever allows me is the deathly grip I have on him when we take off, when we hit turbulance (domestic NZ flights being criminal for them, and don't even mention the flights to Fiji or Raro), when we turn corners, etc. Kinda nice to know am not alone ;) but i wouldnt wish the terror on anyone.

A doctor can def prescribe anti - dep Also once you have been ( cost should be around 400 ) you can have 2 repeat scripts before having to be seen again HTH again SOME can. and SOME will give you a double dose to avoid going back for 2 months (against the law...as a restricted med it can only be prescibed for a month at a time) and SOME will give you a repeat presciption over the phone charging the clinics admin fee. Usually around 20dh. By law you are supposed to have a consult at least every 2 months if taking anti'd's and some places for some particular drugs will only prescribe if you have had a physc, consult. To the OP...best bet is to ring your Dr, or whoever was the origonal presciber and see what their policy is. I 'think' it may be difficult to convince an all new Gp who has a slightly cheaper rate to continue on with a course of drugs they havent presribed when they havent your entire case history. So changing may not be the best option. Can you apply for a refund of your fee's through insurancfe? Most don't cover it, but some do.

No you can't...anti d's are a restricted med here and you need the script. Depending on your Dr you can get a repeat one without consultation, but it seems that most require it, if not a sit down with the pysch. depends who precsribed it origonally.

oh please reconsider!!! Geckos are considered very lucky and harmonious animals. Many beleive that when ypu find a gecko in your home then yours is a happy one. We used to have dozens of them in Brisbane as we *did* have a happy home :) (except when the litte buggrs crawled into the air con units and short wired them!! I'm with you S&D, AND as an added bonus they keep other insects under control. Our place is riddled with them despite the presence of our (obviously VERY lazy) cat :)

we had a water cooler before we had furniture too...some sales guy knocked on our door while I was measuring for curtains in a new place, bought the cooler itself and 2 bottles for a whopping 235dh (shows how long ago that was!) though our water bottles delivered weekly are still only 8dh each. Don't know how we would be managing without it, just the thought of lugging copious amounts of water home from the supermarket and then finding somewhere to store it all makes me itch. Just as aside, we're a family of 3 and we go through at least 3 of the 5 gallon bottles weekly. Waiting not so patiently for the cooler to finally die so we can purchase (at at least twice the price) a new funky silver one with a fridge in the bottom :) In 4 years our shopping bill weekly has gone from approx. 400dh to 1200dh and we've not changed what we buy substantially. Our menagerie of animals has grown in that time but not to the tune of 800dh per week on feed. Inflation is a witch. We also do a substantial C4 shop for hard household stuff. And while I can do a weekly shop at Spinneys for around 500dh to 800dh, I am for ever popping in to pick up bread, milk and bananas...seemingly my families staple diet, and ending up with other stuff in my trolley or basket. Salad stuff I find has to be bought fresh, and I live on that. I cook from scratch, we prefer fresh clean simple food, so nothing complicated...though all of us are cheese feinds. I'd say your $400 aud is about what you could be budgeting on for here too. hth

er aren't babies more likely to play and pull at their ears than an older child? Especially is they're hoops? Would people even put babies in hoops - surely that's really dangerous - better to be little studs that they can't get their fingers caught in. I remember desperately wanting my ears to be pierced and my Dad kept on saying if you were supposed to have holes in your ears you would have been born with holes in your ears - I did eventually get them pierced much to his horror!!!!! edited by Clairehdp on 26/04/2011 same here! But then dad also had something against hair removal, and used the same line...if you were supposed to be bald under your arms you would have been born that way. To which I raised an eyebrow and shaved away to my hearts content :D

So, if you werent an expat kid, what was the catylist for change for you? I wasnt, hubby wasnt...we come from VERY VERY small communities origonally where no one went anywhere and if you did, it was a story to be told for generations. In the begining i had to drag himself by the ear kicking and screaming off traveling as I had had my love for travel awakened at a very early age (long story)...it then ignited in him and we can no longer see ourselves going home at all. Hense the very early stages angst of what to do for lil miss when the time comes...while she is aware she is a kiwi, she has had a childhood to date that is soo soo different from that of her would be peers or cousins at home, that she resembles something of a cuckoo and i feel it would be unfair on her to subject her to her teen years there, but then how else does she really discover the roots of her family? hmm. Lots of pondering to be done. So, stories. What made all us non expat kids uproot and settle around the world?

actually not sure, but wandered into their for rent section accidently one day and saw them there. For some reason only the hire prices of the chilli bins has stayed with me, and while it's not in the least bit helpful right now, they seemed fairly reasonable. Could you brave a phone call before heading there?

oh, now that is interesting DC. We have sort of planned that for lil miss's high school we will settle somewhere home-ish, for some stability and continuity. However, your experience shows the other side of the coin...we may not be doing her any favours at all, if we take her home she will definitely be 'odd'. Filing it away for future, thanks.

I'm with you DR....complete techno numpty me. We SAY that we won't have wii and what not in the house as child should be playing, but really we just don't know how to work them and are secretly terrified of them. It was a mass effort of all friends patiently explaining (over and over again repeatedly) that led to himself being able to start up his new ipod and actually put some music on it. We're all very proud that we are being dragged kicking and screaming into the 1990's :D

What gets into peoples heads? She is supposedly a grown up! Honestly...the bold as brass nerve of her. It's easy enough to manage an easter egg hunt...when we do them and theres a disparity of ages in the CHILDREN they all put the eggs they find into a big collective basket and then we dole them out so it's fair. It's about the hunt after all, or supposedly. Bet this woman was one of those pushy parents at the free concert in MoE recently making a complete spectacle of herself.

I reckon dreamland has far more value for the little ones than WW...it's a lovely pool area for them with slides etc. Is generally cooler than here, specially if there is a breeze off the sea. Take flip flops though...they don't have a sprinkler system for the footpaths and they do get hot. You should be fine with snacks and drinks for small people, and the food outlets inside are surprisingly reasonable. Its only an hour up the road, and worth the trip for a fun day out.
