Thank you for your response Fairy Dust. I've done research but am still undecided as to wether or not to proceed with the vaccine. I've seen two GPs so far but both had very little knowledge about it and could not give me any advice. If anyone could therefore recommend, preferably a UK doctor, it would be much appreciated. HPV vaccine only 'protects' from cervical cancer caused by certain HPV types...that's all, you can still get ill from other types or other causes. The side effects of the vaccine can be fatal... If you are a carrier of HPV already zero point in getting it, get a test done first and include a full STD panel too. I work in private healthcare and you couldn't pay me to get the vaccine done. I suggest that you quote some verifiable scientific facts before you post such hysterical statements. Agreed. Scary to think this person works in Healthcare and is spouting such unsubstantiated fear mongering. As well if you have HPV , there are many strains so the vaccine is still worth getting- there is no need to test. These sort of posts do a lot of harm- my best friend had surgery for cervical cancer years ago and she was not promiscuous- ask her now and she would have jumped at the opportunity to take a highly effective, SAFE vaccination to prevent all the grief she has been through. True , a lot of women will get the vaccine and never end up being exposed to a high risk hpv virus-however , For those who do , it will protect them from the vast majority of cancer causing strains. Really it is a no brainer for sexually active women - and men. https://www.cdc.gov/std/hpv/stdfact-hpv-vaccine-young-women.htm.

Dr Kay Deeming at Dubai Physiotherapy and Family Medicine Clinic beside Mercato mall is British and great with teens and vaccinations. Takes time to properly explain the pros and cons.

It is do-able until school hits then going to be tight. However by then you could likely get a job and pay for the schooling. 6000 for food does seem a lot- honestly I now do 90%of shopping at Co=op and the savings over Spinneys is ridiculous- the same Australian sweet potatoes are around 9 dhs/kg at Co-op and between 19 -23 dhs /kg at Spinneys, depending on the day/how greedy they are feeling.

I vote Mercedes and used. Always people coming and going. Try the message boards outside Parknshop by Safa Park- you often see Mercs for sale there .

Give it to her. She can't even sign up on a phone contract without her ID. If you are worried about her doing a runner, you still have her passport. As well, she needs some sort of identification if stopped by CID and you have every piece of it.

Not Axa. Definitely not Axa. Rarely pay out without a huge fight. Saico is good, Allianz too.

Insurance has gone up a lot. Avoid A*A at all costs. Saico has been pretty good for us. You get what you pay for and these days , if 16000 dhs is for a year, that is pretty good if they cover out patient, meds, good hospitals etc. Depends on your age too. Good luck

Arranging annual leave is now as bad as sponsoring. This is the link http://www.polodubai.com/how-to-get-an-oec.html She has to book an online appointment and then see number 3- she has to do all the stuff below including 3 copies of the appt form, copies of her return tickets, then see further down- you have to download and print off two info forms and give her a bunch of passport copies etc etc and then she takes all of that to her appt. Have fun! (note I think you ignore the "OWWA membership form" and the "POEA" APPOINTMENT link)

Yes the form we received was very clear that they didn't care if there was evidence of past immunizations etc. , you have to show there was a bad reaction/allergy etc. But looking at the 7 days articles this am, looks like schools are accepting old records as a reason not to give it. Which is great. Not clear if the MOH has softened their stance, or the schools are stuck in the middle and taking the logical road.

Regarding contact details for Christina Cooper if you contact Dr Susan Norton or Dr Rundell at Dubai Physiotherapy & Family Medicine Clinic in Jumeirah (4) 349 6333 or Psychiatrist Dr Amer Saadeddin at the Dubai Community Health Centre Tel: +9714 507 8000 they will be able to give you her contact details. Thanks Tokoloshe again; I went and saw Dr Norton as suggested- she was really lovely. She advised that Christina is in RAK now so a bit far for me to travel. Dr Norton gave me a couple of names as alternatives- including one at Life Works clinic. Has anyone had recent experience at this clinic?- I think it might be covered under my insurance. TIA.

How absurd.... school trips used to have some educational benefit and volunteerism. Now there might be a token day at an orphanage and the rest is just an extravagant trip. Besides the fact Disney is the ultimate family trip so why is the school stealing that experience for families. I would say no way. Besides the cost is insane. What a world our kids are growing up in. Yikes!
