Thank you all so much, I really appreciate your feedback. My son is already in an IB school so I am not moving him last minute into a different/new cirriculum. He is currently doing his IGCSE exams but we just wanted a change of school. But am not convinced we should shift to Wellington as really its the same story these days with every school. Love the way simpleasabc puts it ....In typical Dubai fashion, most of my daughter's teachers will be leaving at the end of this academic year (some have been poached by other IB schools here, some are returning home, some are taking better jobs elsewhere and I believe one is going to be involved in training IB teachers in the Middle East) so who knows what next year will bring

Oh ladies, such distain. Believe me my post was written in frustration following calls to both our families where we were given the impression that they were almost inconvenienced by our trip. I adore my folks and they are beyond fantastic to us. I was just having a moany morning. FFx Yes agree FF it is very sad when people start lecturing when all u have done is gotten something off your chest. They take it completely out of context and start giving moral lectures. But dont worry all of us dont judge. Cyber hug to u.

I agree completely with u simpleasabc but I want ton know how good the school is. With the exhorbitant school fees a parent wants the assurance that the school is provinding the best teachers and facilities. All a question of one wants what one is paying for.The hard work ofcourse depends on the child and IB is a very demanding course no doubt. Any one else on their views on WELLINGTON for IB?

We stayed at Eurodisney for 2 days and then moved to the city. Made a lot of sense.

We were members at the Jumeirah Beach Club when we first moved to Dubai 16 yrs ago. Itc was a beautiful club and was v costly even then. We payed AED16000 for the year if I recall correctly.

The Dubai Ladies Club has reallly good rates nowadays and offers several different packages. The only downside is that you can't bring your husband in. Sometimes that's not a downside ;) You beat me to it :)

I second a safari. I did it with my husband, boys & mum and wondered why Safaris are not sold as Honeymoon destinations given the huge amount of time u spend by yourselves...with no TV even 4 distraction ;-)

Sara I normally book thru dnata coz I have had a bad experience in the past booking online. There was no refund offered & I lost a lot of money. So I prefer to pay a bit extra for that piece of mind & for expert advise.

We stayed at the Radisson Buena Vista, was walking distance from disney, great large rooms and lovly hotel. Also quite reasonablly priced. Have a good trip.

Having said that, have been on AA safaris and they are good. So are Gulf Ventures (smaller and more 'boutique', not the 100s of people you get with AA) Ditto that sandfly. I have also used Gulf Ventures several times are found them v good.

She was too young to die and her addictions caused her and her family a lot of pain. An addict is not an addict by choice as some judgemental people presume. Addicts suffer a lot and at most times are helpless & unable to give up their habits. RIP Whitney.

Hair loss can definately be caused by shifting to a new country and the quality of the water there. Mine fell in heaps 20 yrs ago when we shifted to Jakarta. :-(
