I always tip my hairdresser 10-15%, but sometimes dont tip the girls at Tips & Toes for Mani/Pedi coz they have been increasing their rates and lowering the quality - Tito Polishes instead of Essie etc, which really bothers me. Only go there coz its v convinient for me.

I think a good point has been raised, and serves a purpose. I get disgusted when I see Baby on Board & Child on Board stickers as they are on cars, where women drive whilst constantly chatting on their mobiles..Grr$%&((&^%

What I dont understand is that one pays so much for a mani & pedi & then has to carry ones own expensive Nail Polish for the colour to last!!!! I too dont like Tito brand and think Tips & Toes is just opting for a cheaper option as compared with Essie & Opi. As someone said one should just stop going there, but its the closest & most convinient option.

We went wid our kids to Eiro disney when they were 4 & 5 yrs old. We went to disney for 2 days & stayed our of disney...then moved to the city & did Eiffel Tower, Louvre etc...

Sadly what I was once told by a clothes designer was that our old clothes grow (expand & stretch) wid us. The test is when you go to buy new clothes if the same size fits or not is the real test.

Jakarta was our first overseas posting as well. Bodabz has given great tips & information, but what she missed out telling you is that u will need to learn Bahasa Indonesia as the Driver, Nanny, Cook etc will not speak in English. So there is no way around that, atleast not 16 years ago when we lived there. I prefer Dubai anyday as I found the life there extremely laid back, as most women are ladies of leisure & its almost impossible to get employment due to the country having a large population of its own. Ive been a member for the past 3 years and I think its overall a good club. I like the variety of group exercises on offer & the instuctors who impart these. Cant say very much for the other instructors available for personal trainning as they are v expensive. Cleanliness & overall maintainence of equipment is good.

I was in the exact same situaltion 15 years ago....and I did end up losing my pregnancy weight but only after a couple of years. A big cyber hug frenchy. U will get abck in shape but do not lose sleep over it and enjoy yr life in the NOW.

We are in the same boat, paying out a huge mortgage every month....not sure how long we can sustain thou. We spoke to our finance provider & they dropped the mortagae rate to 7.xx %. These banks can be so unfair, charging hih rates to previous customers & attracting new ones wid rates as low as 3.99%.

My boys go there and they do have a good nationality mix. I chose this school coz its the oldest IB Curriculum school in Dubai. I've had my share of sleepless nights, but now am happy with it.

I too vote for babies not being allowed, whether a Spa or not, a mani pedi is supposed to be relaxing, & there is no relaxation when u have a baby crying next to u.

This post is so close to my heart & life these days. My son is ready to go to university next year and am so torn on where to send him. I know he will gladly study in the UAE but I have been told by so many that unis here are not up to the mark, so am struggling wid what choice to make. Else he will go to the USA or UK.

We went day before and yes it was v crowded. Most of the stalls we saw were up & running except for Sri Lanka which hardly had any exhibitors. Turkey was bustling as usual, so was the China Pavillion. My advice would be wait a few more days and then go.
