Mamas and Papas sell nice one-piece maternity swimsuits. I have one and it's really nice to wear post-pregnancy as well :) Can you please tell me which mall was that? In Dubai Marina mall, there wasn't anything. Thanks

I bought a swimsuit from Destination Maternity last week. It was in the sale so worth an ask to see if they still have some in the back of the store. I saw them couple of weeks ago but couldn't find my size. And went to check again in different mall this week. All Sale items were gone and no new stock of swimwear since it is A/W collection as salesperson explained (I wonder if buyer of the store is aware that A/W is the right time for swimming in Dubai :)

I buy in AMart (that is on SZR next to MedCare Ortho) and 1004 Mart in Al Barsha. Their seaweeds are reasonably priced and you can choose different varieties.

If for little girls, you can also check in Pottery Barn Kids. And plenty affordable ones in HomesRUs (for any age). Zara Home

Some turkish hammam/spa/massage at some fancy hotel spas (like One and Only or Zabeel) - they have good gift packages. Go Kart or some fancy car driving experience at Yas Marina Circuit.

DH doesn't feel like showing my tummy to public :) That's the key reason. I was thinking about spf top but was not sure how far it can cover the tummy. Need to try that option. Thanks for suggesting that, Big blue.

Destination Maternity doesn't have swimwear and I have no idea which other stores may have maternity swimming suits (one-piece). Not comfortable ordering on-line (as these items are not returnable as underwear). Please advise. TIA

Couple of my friends have switched from WIS into another ones as they were unhappy with the school. JAPS is a good place to start. I think it is much easier to find a place in Middle/High schools than in Primary.

Thank you all for your tips but I forgot to mention that I also bite the skin around and manicure can't help it I am a skin-around-nails biter. Well, at least used to be. When I started working and tried to look elegant I got into a habit of manicuring every week. Since they remove that hard skin/cuticles around nails, there wasn't anything left to bite off. That's how I got rid of this habit of biting. But after becoming mom and no time for regular manicure, the habit returned but not in that previous acute form :)

Beyond Beauty Salon in JBR, Sadaf. In love with this product. It might be something individual then, but grey is covered 100% in my case.

Gulf News has published today that 11 new private schools are opening this academic year. And they all will have plenty of space. Most of them are British curriculum or combined IB though. So if you are looking for American curriculum, try CAS, they are relatively new (3 years) and likely to have a space.

Kiwispiers, I did write almost exactly what you have suggested. I am generally very polite in expressing myself in forums as people tend to add their own mood into any text and can turn a simple post into offensive one or vice versa. I wrote if I have done something wrong, I am a grown-up person to admit it and will apologize but I don't know what I have done to you to cause such aggression and I don't believe I deserved these offensive stuff. To which she simply responded "which offensive stuff?" I then sent her a PM saying I don't want to flood the thread which is already too long and our conversation is totally irrelevant there but if you are interested, here are the posts of yours which I found very rude and offensive. Just for you, ladies to know, she called me "stupid c&nt" (in an acronymic way, which that forum totally understands :()

Thanks ladies. I will stick to "ignoring" that poor woman (she must be unhappy person if she does what she does anyway). Thanks again!

I have a suspicion she is in a good relations with admin (she is a very old/experienced member). I decided to react in a very polite manner and even wished her a to have a great and jolly weekend. To which she responded "what have scared you?"

Very simple solution... Don't log on to that website! This would be the last resort solution for me. I still find out lots of useful info from there (as I do from EW) and there are lots of very friendly and nice people, some of which I became friends with.

Hi ladies! I am due 3 February. Glad to see a February due date thread. It is my 2nd pregnancy too but would be first time giving birth in Dubai. I am with Dr. Yamini at Al Zahra hospital. I chose her based on the reviews here in EW. So far so good. Good luck to all of us!

Agree with previous comment. Flu vaccine prevents from Influenza (which is not common cold or similar viral infection). Flu is a very nasty disease with potential complications and no antibiotics can cure it.

I was always worried while flying over unstable countries (Iraq, Syria, you name it) and this was exactly what I was afraid of. Now I know my worries were not groundless. Poor innocent people. So sad

I am not good with terminology but if pin prick means skin test, then we did ours in Emirates Hospital in Marina (Habtoor tower) for my 7 year old son. Can't remember doctor's name, but he is the only allergist there anyway.

I don't think you need permission unless your maintenance somehow would change any communication lines/pipes

I flew on my 9th week of pregnancy 6.5 hours to and back. My gyn/ob said if this trip can't be postponed, sure you can fly, just take care of yourself (no heavy lifting and stuff like that)

There is a stand in Ibn battuta mall near Geants. Halwat Zamaan. I buy them there (they are the closest to my place, at least)

I can't remember where I read this (newspaper, or internet or a poster) about some organization accepting unopened medicine few months ago. Shame I haven't made note of it and was hoping someone could have come across or remembered it.

Had a similar situation. But all depends on the type of insurance. If you are not sure, call your insurance company to find this out, then they will tell you what's the next step

I've tried shellac once - and that was, hopefully, the last time! But I found OPI polishes very good and long lasting (none of the other brands lasted as long as OPI on me as I use water all the time)

It is something you can't avoid here. My car's door is full of scratches, which I started getting from the first days - in every parking place, there would be always someone, who wouldn't bother parking properly and on top of that opening their door so it leaves scratches on cars next to them.

Few months back time my son had itchy eyes, would be sneezing continuously in the mornings and had running nose. First I took him to ophthalmologist and he prescribed anti-allergic eye drops. After a month it started over again, but this time drops didn't help so I took him to Allergist. Then we did this skin test (child-friendly version though) and it turned out that he was Extremely (they have a rating of extent how allergic a person is to certain allergens) allergic to dust mites. I realized that it all started when we bought him a new bed and a mattress and I didn't bother covering mattress with mattress protector. As an option he offered immunization, which I decided not to do after consulting with our pediatrician (it is 72 shots in total that's need to be done over 2-3 years period). I just bought mattress and pillow protectors and now all is ok. The point is this skin test is quite useful and true and you will learn the extent/magnitude of your allergy and is covered by insurance.

I suggest you wear some ridiculous swimwear and wear some granny-style clothes. That way you will feel you are looked at for not being soooo beautiful but just being watched for your own safety. :) Jokes apart, totally agree with other ladies, this is what they are paid for - for keeping an eye on you!

AnonDubai, I am not susceptible to clots. She said I just need to take it 3 days before my flight (small dose of 75mg once daily) and 3 days before return flight. If I was 12 weeks, I wouldn't be that worried. It is gonna be my 8-9th weeks - that what makes me worry a bit. I usually drink a lot water during air travel to get hydrated, perhaps I stick to this routine and maybe even wear those socks. Thank you for your feedback, ladies.

My ob/gyn prescribed me aspirin, when I said I was planning to travel by plane (that would be my 9th week of pregnancy). She explained that we need to avoid clots which may occur during air travel. Has anyone took aspirin for the sake of air travel only? I read aspirin is not recommended during 1st and 3rd trimesters

If you are talking about Little Scholars Academy, then yes it is, as I understand a new nursery and have plenty of spaces if anyone want to join. We went there because it provides discount for the kids of employees of a company where my hubby works for. We are relatively new in the nursery and have very mixed feelings/feedback. The place and teachers seem nice but my son keeps on falling sick - 3rd time already over the last 1.5 month time.
