We bought a 21" Mac and and a laptop for DS when we lived n Singapore as the schools there really only use MAC. Being a mature person, found it strange to begin with but now easy and hate using anything else. We have of course moved it a few times and so easy to reconnect. Have talked to many people about them and its either love them or hate them. Yes they are expensive but the old saying you only get what you pay for is so true in this case

Being an Aussie where the UV rays are so bad I have been burnt many times. Banana Boat is probably the best brand as a sun cream. As far as freckles go its in your genes. So if a parent or Grandparent has them then I think you will get them. DS has lovely skin and goes wonderfully brown and I do go brown but have lots of freckles, so sun cream will not stop the freckles.

Yes we did this Brunch last month. Actually did the deal with late check out and Brunch included. Wouldn't say the Brunch was great, probably 4*. No Jumeirah thats for sure. Can't really put my finger on it but didnt find variety or service was great. It was a bubbles but when I asked for something else they said NO! Lots of Russians and Germans stay there. I have done the Brunch at Marina, think it's the Crown or Intercon, anyway it includes 3 restaurants and seating outside, was FAB very injoyable

Don't do it! If the company is paying for housing, health insurance, schooling, white goods allowance , car allowance, etc etc then maybe you can survive on 20k. Ajman would be horrible for someone from the city. DH would spend hours on the road driving in traffic. Yes the roads are horrible and you do get used to it but the traffic in peak hours is 6 lanes of bumper to bumper. In saying all that give it a go ...you never know unless you try!

Depends on budget. If just want a cheapie look like Persian carpet ,then you can even go to Ikea, Carrefour or side of road near Hatta. They are all machine made, either from Belgium or China. Otherwise head to Blue Souq in Sharjah. You can spend hrs here and start to learn about carpets.

We presently live in an apartment and love it as a very green, security area. The villas are all attached, so if your British you would feel right at home. No trees just a square block and no thought in the floor plan. Horrible, looks like Coronation Street. So as you say, make the most of it.

AudreyFB, you gave me a good laugh with talking about Capalaba and the Bogans there. DH is ex Air Force so Amberley area, I know where you are coming from. It makes me laugh when people wear UGGS as a fashion statement ,when they are just slippers! Yes we lived at the Gold Coast where all the girls wears them with a mini skirt and jumper. The guys with board shorts and a hoodie. In saying that I have a pair of uggs on at the moment but bought from the factory at Burleigh.

You need it for insurance on your car. If you are just hiring a car, no problem, but if you own it you need a UAE drivers license. Simply just they give you 1 when you show them your USA one.

just saw on TV that certain cereals have over 40% of sugar!!! Really we only have our kids with us for a short amount of time, so feed them right and educate them correctly. Back home our kids are up at dawn which is around 5am so they can do sport before school, or just do an activity.

OK...We did twice last month as they had the 2 for 1 deal last month. This is fantastic. Yes it is expensive ,but typically Jumeirah ....great food, entertainment, views and beverage. The service is wonderful, food, you order main course off the menu and get it cooked how you like and of course is hot when it arrives. The waitress goes thru the menu and explains everything for you. The entrees and deserts are in the buffet . They have a couple doing the tango with South American music as the entertainment. No children of course. Think I will do it again while they have the deal..

Looking at apt. Just can't find any in the area. We are more mature couple with a 17 yr old boy. So don't need the clubbing scene. If you know of any area with some or a good website I would appreciate it.

It's not like back home where you have to register by beginning of the year. I get my dogs done mid to end of year when the get all heir yearly vaccinations done. Go the municipal vets near Mushrif park, with their passports, which will have the batch number of the vacine, don't have to take your pet! As they said only 10 dhs.

Don't do it! No order there at all, complete nightmare. If you drive get there at lunch time and don't expect to get out of the parking area in under 2 hrs. Metro station is shut at the mall 1 so you are expected to walk to another one!! SZR is a car park until about 3 am. Plus no atmosphere when the fireworks are on. Nothing like in USA,London or Sydney. Your decision?
