I use the shampoo bars and have done for years. They are great, last forever. The range changes so I can't recommend one specifically. I did use a lovely yellow one (honeysuckle ?) which is discontinued. Using a [b'>green rough one[/b'> just now which is cool. Emur, I think I bought this one. Called Karma something or other, smells of patchouli. WOW! Used it this morning, and I cannot believe how well it lathered and how nice my hair felt after rinsing, and looks now that it's drying! Weeeee! [img'>http://www.pic4ever.com/images/Banane21.gif[/img'>

Well, if it is a sales job and part of the income is based on commission, or bonuses are rewarded for meeting quotas...I loved hearing from potential sales people that I interviewed that they were motivated by money. It was crucial to their job performance! Everyone knows money is one of the main motivators. When people lay it on too thick and use all the stupid buzzwords, that was a turnoff. Plus when people would state a reasonable salary expectation that was above the norm, it showed me that they valued themselves. If someone lowballs themselves, that is worrying. Looks like they just want to punch a clock and cruise. And yes, and experienced interviewer can see through people. Good luck with your interview!

Betnovate is the best cream ever for rashes and itches!! You can buy it at the pharmacy and a little goes a long way. Rash gone within a very short time. Hope it works! Thanks Jetset. I woke up today with a significant decrease after applying the shea twice yesterday. (yay!) If it doesn't totally knock this out, I'll keep the Betnovate in mind! I'm still reeling that I broke out so horribly from something marketed "for mom and baby." :\:

Amy, I understand what you are saying. Sometimes money has nothing to do with it...in my experience, many of the "wild kids" were the preacher's kids! Talk about being raised with morals, love, nurturing, to no avail. In other words, you can have great upbringing, but some kids are just looking for trouble, excitement, whatever--no matter how well they have been brought up. I was brought up in a great home, perhaps a little too structured/sheltered. I can honestly say, I acted out

I have no personal experience but this blog could be useful for you. A bit of a sarcastic take on living in Saudi from a woman's perspective... I spent hours reading the various posts and I think it gives a quite a good picture of how life in KSA can be for a woman. http://blueabaya.blogspot.co.uk/ I forgot about this one...thanks for sharing again, I am hooked on reading it. Hi Neno, I am probably going to give you the least exciting advice ever, but here it is. The magic is adherence to a proper diet program, and I mean 100% commitment to it. Do you have a dietician at the gym, or a nutritionist there that can write a program for you? Exercise is fine and great, but keep an eye on that as well. You've only been working out a month, have you noticed any real changes in your physique? (not just weight on the scale, but are your clothes looser?) Make sure you [i'>push [/i'>yourself in the gym as long as you don't have any injuries. I have been a "fitness freak" since 2007, but I know where you are at, and trust me when I say, nothing gets rid of belly fat other than eating clean. Abdominal exercises will help strengthen your core, but unless you lose fat, you'll never see the effects. I have always yo-yo'd with my weight, but ballooned up to a staggering 102 kilos in January 2010 after 2 abdominal surgeries kept me out of the gym. I couldn't heal, couldn't work out, and ate a ton of junk, and boom, looked like I was carrying twins. I started doing cross fit, and walking, but the weight only changed significantly in March 2010 when I was honest with myself--that my diet wasn't as good as it could be. When I made that commitment, I dropped to 72 kilos in 6 months time. The weight only dropped when I followed my diet plan 100% to the tee. If you don't know how to eat clean, or don't want to hire a nutritionist, I think the Paleo diet (which is not really a diet but a lifestyle) is a good start, and not detrimental to your health. You can buy a book to learn the principles, and most people find it is convenient and can even follow it when going out to eat. Good luck x Edited to add: you may also want to check out the book "Body for Life" by Bill Phillips. That was the first book I ever bought when I got into health and fitness. Teaches you how to eat clean, and has guidelines on how to structure your exercise program. A lot of people use that as a starting point, and it works! It is less restrictive on food groups than Paleo, also. edited by Beebers on 03/01/2013

It was 95 dhs, and I think it is a 6 oz jar. A little goes a looooooong way. It says on the jar it helps with eczema. Lucky me! I have that, too, so will try. In the past, I used to buy what I thought was raw shea when I was in Africa, but this stuff is much nicer quality. So perhaps it will work whereas the stuff I bought in the bush did not. Worth a try, before going to creams like Dermovate (my usual go to) for a baby.

Hi Di, just wanted to say thanks--Ripe was super easy to find, and got the butter. DH was stoked they had macadamia butter and some other hard-to-find food items. When I applied the shea, it really did soothe the skin, no more itching. I still look like I walked into a bee hive, but I'm hopeful it'll get better after applying again tonight. :) thanks!

Happy New Year Jen :) We went the first week it opened, loved it! Even the "rides" that were educational were pretty cool. My suggestions would be don't discount any of them, and....the water ride? Okay you know it is a sign when they give you heavy duty "deadliest catch" style ponchos while you're in line for the ride :) My jeans were soaked afterward, in all the wrong places. Looked like I had an accident! So if anyone in your party wouldn't want to walk around like that, beware. The fastest coaster wasn't running yet, but the other was, still had tears in my eyes after that one. Can't imagine the even faster one. Have fun!

Vivitte, I had this discussion with the help desk at the free zone yesterday. She told me that if I was on a visit visa, then I can go to the Oman border and back, however if I was on a tourist visa, I have to fly in and fly back. I am from US, and on a visit visa at the moment. Your situation may be the same depending which you had--the visit or the tourist but do you have a PRO you can double check with tomorrow? Flydiver, never heard of that visa ;) edited by Beebers on 01/01/2013

Di, I should be going that route. I love the smell of that "commercial brand" and used it in the past with no problems. Now I am in agony. I was hoping to knock this out with a medicinal cream, but it sounds like you are suggesting the raw shea will help calm this. Where do you get yours? Organic cafe?

Hi, I was prescribed an anti-inflammatory which I believe was propionic acid based and started with an "M" after a particularly nasty root canal. I was dubious that it would be strong enough but was pleasantly surprised. In the US, they prescribe very strong stuff like water for dental work. I have also bought Brufen, OTC, which helped with severe back pain. If you are in severe pain or coming out of surgery the hospitals can prescribe stronger meds than what you find at the pharmacy. Some additional food for thought, I found out from my older sister how babies are really made, and I was shocked. "What??? The stork doesn't deliver them???" This topic also comes up among elementary age children, and it can be mortifying to find out you are the only one whose parents are telling you a cutesy tale as they are uncomfortable bringing it up. Putting it off can cause unnecessary embarrassment on a subject which is totally natural. I wish my Mom would have been more open about it. I never felt like I could even discuss that part of my anatomy, and had to deal with cysts as a teen practically by myself :(

Have you got a place in mind? Why not ask the Landlord whether you can put the lease in the company name? I would imagine that as long as you can prove that you are 'the company' and present the necessary cheques in the company name, you shouldn't have an issue. They will normally put 'yourname / companyname' on the lease so as a company you don't start a labour camp in a two bedroom apartment. Hi LL, we haven't started viewing yet. DH owns the company, and has all the necessary items. We tried that 2 years ago and 3 of 3 landlords said no, even with all of our documentation. I suppose we could try again, and if no one will do it, well, then option B. He really needs to fly home tomorrow and I'm just freaking out a bit.

Hi ladies. A few questions for dukaners. First silly question. In the cruise phase, i want to follow the 2/7 rhythm, but it says every where P/P days are Mondays and Thursdays. Is this a rule to follow? 2nd Q. Is there liquid egg white in market? i love egg but discovered i cant have over 5 whole eggs in 7 days. If there is, please tell me where you saw/buy it. 3rd Q. What is Shirataki noodles? does it taste good? is it available here? Thank you. D-J I can help with the Shirataki Noodles--the ones made from yam flour are the ones you want, and the only place I have ever found them is Dean's Fujiya supermarket, in Oud Metha, around the corner from Lamcy Plaza. The last time I posted this, they had a shortage for a bit :) But seems they can keep up now with stock. They are about 9 dhs a bag and in the fridge section there. Other places have "tofu" shirataki but they aren't the same. I have also seen liquid egg whites in most Waitrose's--but they are very expensive!

Your DH wants you to talk to her? So he is not the bad guy, I suppose? I wouldn't have a real hard time doing that if it was my own little sis, but I can understand you don't want to cause more drama than there already is. I suppose all you can say is that you will not facilitate her behavior as you don't agree with it. Simple. She is free to do what she wants, but not under the ruse of visiting you. Everyone will hold you culpable, and you do NOT need this during a joyous time of your life!

TDB I think you know feeling that way isn't reasonable. At the end of the day, who will be held responsible for her shenanigans? At some point her luck is going to run out, and sounds like it already had at one point. Out of respect for your FIL's wishes I would refuse to cover for her anymore, because that's all you're doing--and the heat is going to come down on you. There are so many things wrong with this picture but what stands out is the immediate jeopardy you and your DH will be in when she gets sent to the can for the night, or winds up pregnant...ugh, lists goes on!

What about drinking soda water and adding some fruit cordial? By the way, read the link, I'm so trying Paleo! Sounds pretty easy to maintain since I loooove my veggies and I'm not a fan of fruits. And interesting the mention of the modern day gluten and lactose intolerance and the fact that for 1000's of years, people didn't consume either of them. Makes sense than that people are intolerant. As a species we are not that old. Our industrialism, agriculture and other intellectual developments have progressed exponentially faster than our physical attributes. Having an appendix is a sign of that...I am not saying Paleo is the only way, but if someone were to try it, the proof is in the pudding. Plus, most people can't be bothered to count calories and be meticulous.

My first choice would be Le Royal Meridien. If you want a hotel on the Walk I think the quietest ones will be either Amwaj Rotana or possibly the Sheraton. Sofitel and Movenpick are both opposite building sites. it is a mess around Amwaj and the Sheraton, too. Was on the patio the other night there and the construction didn't make for a pleasant setting. I'm with you on Le Royal!

Turkish, you're breastfeeding? Definitely avoid all sports supplements, including protein powder unless it truly is all natural and the label doesn't say "not for use if pregnant or breastfeeding." If you can't avoid eating something sweet 7 times a day, and you eat out of boredom or emotion, you might have some problems losing weight tbh. Best suggestion I can make is for you to do one thing better. Such as limiting your tea and sweet things to 2x a day. Master that, then set a new goal. If you haven't lost much after going to the gym for 2 months, I think you know your eating habits are the problem. I know some things are tough to give up, but eventually it will get frustrating going to the gym and not getting results. Good luck, I am sure you'll figure it out. :)

Movenpick might be better than Sofitel, but you might want to take a stroll down there and see for yourself. You could also go with Grosvenor, or if you want them to have easy beach access, Le Royal or Habtoor Grand. HTH

Hi Turkish, I tend to be a little long winded on this subject, but I will try to offer some a couple of basic guidelines so you have a starting point that is not too complicated. First, a good tasting protein shake: I think I have literally tried them all. Syntha-6 by BSN is my current choice. It is not 100% whey protein, but tastes delicious, is cost effective, and there are a lot of flavor options. There are some brands out there that are 100% "natural" or "Cold filtered isolate" blah blah, but unless you are extremely committed to your eating plan, those things don't matter. In other words, if you are eating brunch on the weekends, who cares how "natural" your protein is. Most of that labeling is misleading. Try eating brekky about an hour before the gym and do the protein shake afterward. I have gone back and forth over the years on which lifestyle plan is best, and currently I would have to go with the "Paleo Diet" for those who do not want to count calories. Really it is not a diet but a lifestyle. Here is a great link outlining the basics. http://www.nerdfitness.com/blog/2010/10/04/the-beginners-guide-to-the-paleo-diet/ I follow the Paleo way of eating, but I also eat oats and rice which they do not recommend. I eat them early in the day, within 2 hour windows of my workout as that is when the body utilizes carbs most. The popular adage, which I have even touted myself is that weight loss success is 80% diet and 20% exercise. But that is misleading, as it is 100% commitment to diet. I would not recommend any tabs. Especially because you said yourself you have not done much in the way of trying to lose weight. Therefore proper eating and exercise will go a long way. 7 kg is not that much! I had horrible health issues and nearly destroyed my liver from taking fat burners I bought over the counter. Stay away because it is a gamble and nothing will determine more of your success than your adherence to eating well and exercising. One closing note: if anyone tells you "Oh, I just eat fish and vegetables, that will get you really lean" do not do something extreme like that. Sure any moron can lose weight that way, but it is not sustainable and the second you eat something "normal" you will put the weight back on, and then some. Merry Christmas! Okay, pumpkin pie update: Well, there was no heavy cream to be found yesterday, so I 'winged it" with some double cream and milk. Pie is having trouble setting, but I can't bake it any more or the crust will burn. I don't know if this was because I used double cream + milk, or because my oven is unpredictable and rather useless. So I googled "help, my pumpkin pie won't set." Thank goodness for yahoo answers. A chef's advice was that sometimes it needs to set cold and won't set in the oven. If, like myself, you are not a baking extraordinaire I thought I might pass this tip on in case any of you are experiencing the same issue. I used Paula Deen's recipe and know some of you are trying it for the first time.
