Hi Ladies, I sent my passport just before they changed the system, it took about 28 days to get my passport back and a further 1 week to have my documents and old passport returned, I had no reference number. Try not to worry but re-send your e-mail or give them a call if you have any reference. :)

There is nothing to worry about. When I decided to go onto my husbands visa we had no problem with the tenancy contract registered under my name. As long as the contract is registered with Ejari, there is not worries. Renewed my visa twice this way (Tenancy contract under my name always) with out any glitches. Just make sure the marriage certificate is attested by the necessary depts / govt and all will be fine. Thank you sooooooooooooo much :)

Can you not just leave it until the contract is up for renewal? Although that may still mean the LL counts him as a new tennant and can ask whatever rent he wants to try and get. Will you not need it registered with Ejari to transfer your sponsorship though? edited by Geordie expat on 17/02/2014 thanks for your replies, I visited Ejari and they said just submit and should be no problem, luckily I double barrelled my surname. So will obtain Ejari and let my hubby's company do the rest with fingers crossed :)

Hi Polly, we found it too much hassle and had our civil ceremony in Cyprus, far less painful and nice weather :)

I have a home in Protaras, which is the Ayia Napa for families but travel to the Paphos area and stay at the Aphrodite Hills Hotel for a little Spa treat. There are lots of tours to monastries, Trodos mountains, bus tours to the northern side, wine tours that take you to small villages. So you can have a mad party time, spa time, cultural and religion time or just flake out on a beach all day. Hope this helps a little :) and 18 days until I will be in sunny Cyprus and counting :)

Hello, My tip would be to take the car out on a Friday when traffic is a little less and you can also get yourself lost and not worry to much about sitting in the traffic, this helped me, even though I had driven the M25 and M6 back in the UK, i was still a little nervous and this helped me relax and after ten years driving here I can tell you things like people using indicators has improved. Just relax and plan where you want to go :) Happy driving

LOVE CYPRUS! Been visiting the West Coast (Paphos area) for the last 20years. I recommend HomeAway.co.uk website for self catering accommodation, the site is for villa/apartment owners. Am happy to help with any advice/questions on Cyprus : )

I once flew Christmas day back to UK and the bar had only about 5 people, the bubbly flowed and my hubby ended up wearing an Emirates Air Stewardess Hat and serving me a drink (pictures to prove) because it was empty in 1st class they allowed me to use the shower- best ever flight with Emirates only though I am sure they would not put that into an advertisment, just saying in reality we did not look so glam and the bar did not feel so big :)
