I have Kenwood bread maker, and bought it in Care4 3 or 4 years a go, still baking a good bread. I used measuring cup till I got electronic scale. Since having a scale, bread is much better.

I went last night to Madonna, and I have divided feelings. We arrived around 9pm, and ended up waiting till 10:40 pm for her to start. I don't want to think about those who arrived at 7pm when door opened. It was hot and humid, crowd was getting inpatient, and the concert is on the working day. Her stage performance was good, its all about being theatrical with her any way. No old hits, just promoting the new album is something I disliked. I grew up with Madonna and would love to her some other songs she is performing. They performed for 1 and half hour, and left without a bis. And the crowd didn't ask for it anyway!

Leave A/C on, you can adjust it on higher temperature. Turn off all other electrical appliances and water.

You can find artificial fur in satwa, where they sell textiles. I made myself a fancy dress costume once, and bought it over there. It costed 12 aed per yard.

Leave it on, humidity accumulates very fast and A/C is here to condition the air and remove water particles as well. Leave it all the time when you go for vacation, you may be surprised how furniture can change shape in just few weeks. If you leave A/C downstairs when you sleep also doesn't make sense as hot air gows down, cold air will not go up.

I have rosacea for years, and it has been excellently controlled without oral antibiotics. I use Roseliane by Uriage at night - available in any pharmacy, and Energizing Pomegranate Moisturizer SPF 15 (I get it abroad) for day. I only use mineral powder: Bare minerals, available in Sephora. Occasionally when I am under stress, it does flare up and I use clindamycin gel as metronidazole was last time seen on shelves in Dubai in 2006. I never used clindamycin more than 7-10 days as I recognize instantly when its flaring up. Don't use anything aggressive, rosacea replies with more redness on aggression. edited by Betty Boo on 02/06/2012

Just go to Satwa and there are around 10 shops lined next to each other opposite mosque parking. Few have good selection of cotton.

All vaccines here are recommended. The meningitis vaccine available here is combined of AWCY strains. Meningitis vaccine is mandatory only if you travel to Saudi Arabia - Hajj or Umrah. If your kids are between 5 and 7 yo they already had preschool boosters, so the next due vaccine is at age 10, which means they are up to date with regular vaccinations. I would suggest to go for Hepatitis A vaccination, as well as Hep B if they didn't have it as its now part of the schedule for kids more or less worldwide. You can also think about Thypoid vaccine. Your kids probably didn't have TBC inoculation, one more thing to think about. I hope this helps. You can look vaccination up at www.cdc.gov Branches of Dubai london Clinic are excellent in vaccination schedules edited by Betty Boo on 02/06/2012

I don't use delivery dry cleaners: I didn't find them trustworthy. I also don't like Champions or Butlers either, two most often found chains.... I am using for 7-8 years a cleaner in Union Co-op opposite Safa park, the cleaner is called Radiant and I can highly recommend them.

Thanks for the input. And to rely to RuthM, of course she can stay at your place while you are away. I am planning to ask my maid to sleep over sometimes if we'll go out and it would be too late for her to go back home and come next morning for duty.

I know there have been posts about this before, but no will to search... I am about to hire experienced live-out maid on recommendation as I am getting my first baby soon and have a full time job. I never had a maid/nanny and I used to have agencies for weekly cleaning which were paid by hour. What would be the salary I should pay to her on monthly basis? I am aware of all the costs around visa and tickets, and I accepted those expenses without any moaning as part of the process if I want full time helper. My question is monthly salary? I don't want to be to cheap - that woman will take care of my child, but I also don't want to go over the top right on the beginning. Thanks gals!

Refrigerated probiotics are available in Dubai, but not in every pharmacy. There is an excellent brand called Ultimate Flora with billions of friendly bacteria, and it costs an arm and a leg... I didn't read all the posts, just scanned through them... if you still have pain with all the stuff your doctor gave you, take Voltaren 50 mg as needed, works excellent with pains from urinary/genital tract. Ibuprofen should work as well. Hope you get better soon!

The best range of fabrics is in Satwa, but there are few fabric shops in Mall Of Emirates, on the 1st floor. There are also fabric shops in Oasis Mall. Just ask the sales guy to recommend the lining for a dress. You can always go for something in nude color, or any other color which suits the dress.

Etihad provides free shuttle if you fly with them, and there is a fee involved if you fly with some other airline. Please note that check in at Chelsea tower can take forever, so come well in advance.

I bought mine at C4 a while a go, it is Kenwood. I think they should still stock it. I also saw organic shop stocking bread makers. I find it difficult to find bread flour, it ends up being expensive. The bread maker I have has an option for delayed baking: quite good if you like fresh bread in the morning.

How about hair mask with 2 egg yolks? Add some olive oil and keep it all on the hair for 1/2 hour. :)

Dear Rux, sorry to hear what are you going through. Be brave and don't give up. Check with dr Houriya or with your GP where to go from here, there must be good places for cardiac problems.

Congratulations! If you are a divorcee, catholic church will do nothing for you, but other churches may help. Since I am catholic, I have no knowledge about other churches. As I understood, you are still married in this country to your ex-husband... if you stretch the law you are married and pregnant, nothing wrong with that. I know of people flying to Cyprus or Seychelles to get married, as they were from the different countries, religions, etc. Good luck!

I went to W resort/Fesdu island and Bandos. I think Bandos is more family friendly.
