Thanks! I am looking to get it as a second stroller, but I also want it to be fully reclinable so my little one can sleep. I've seen a lot of Sliver Cross strollers around, but never actually had a look in its functions.

Dr Kayed is a great neurologist, but he is not neurosurgeon. However, you can see him for the opinion and maybe he can recommend a good surgeon if you need one. Dr Kassem El Shunnar from American Hospital is good neurosurgeon.

500 aed is registration fee, it doesn't guarantee a place in the school, and is non-refundable... Once they offer a place, what ever you pay to the school at that time is deducted from the last term installment.

This predictions are not really accurate. My baby was predicted to be 4200g at term, and she was 3660g when she was born. Long girl, so wrong estimate.

I am looking for a light weight stroller for traveling. We have Bugaboo Cameleon, which is fab, but... Too big as cabin baggage for airplanes, too big for a trunk of most cars in Europe... A friend recommended Maclaren techno which I can't find anywhere in Dubai?! but see it pushed around. While looking for Maclaren, I saw Babyzen Yoyo and kinda liked it. Anyone knows the price of Maclaren Techno? Suggestions please!

I used Huggies organic cotton for the first three months, than Pampers. The newborn size was 2-5 kg, so for a normal weight baby (cca 3.5 kg) this usually works for a month. As they come near the upper range of weight, you might find diaper too tight so move on to the next size. I buy nappies in C4, get them in bigger boxes as its cheaper. Try different ones and see what works for you. I didn't like Pampers initially, even sensitive ones. But when she became bigger (above 3 months), I found Pampers better than Huggies.

I started with solids my 6 month old now, but we are doing old fashioned pureed food first. After consulting a lot of books (including few books from pediatrics as I am in the medical field) I wouldn't be very worried what is the first food to offer. At the end of the day, this depends on tradition in different parts of the world. Right now, it doesn't really matter how much solid food they eat, milk is what matters. Solids are just to discover different texture and taste. And once they are 6 months old, their digestive system can take up pretty much everything. The only foods I am going to be careful are egg whites, cereals containing gluten, citrus fruits, honey and nuts. My little one has bad eczema, and she reacts with rash when I have nuts or too much milk. We are giving her few baby spoons of pureed food with our dinner and somewhere midday. Dinner is time when we sit at the table as family, we want her to be part of it. I started to use midday for any new food I offer, to watch for reactions (recommended by her pediatrician, but I think its overrated- she is getting food, not bee stings). She eats how much she wants, which is anywhere between nothing to the full table spoon. As she is breastfed baby (expressed breast milk when I am working, and breastfed when together), she eats on demand and not on schedule.

I was given a lot of advices regarding breastfeeding, formula, bottles and so on. Phrase "nipple confusion" scared me. But breastfeeding didn't work well for two of us in the start, but I was determine to latch my little one on, and to provide her breast milk. If was a battle from day one. I pumped breast milk to feed her and she was initially getting it from the cup, but we dropped it within a day upon coming home. It just didn't work for us. Than I gave her expressed milk in the bottle and decided that its too easy for her. The next step was Medela Calma nipple. She was 8 days old when she finally latched on and started to feed directly from the breast. We continued with occasional bottles, if we needed to go somewhere and its easier and faster to feed her, or if I left her with my mum. 6 months down the road, we are still exclusively breast feeding, I returned to work when she was 4 months old. When I am away, she gets expressed breast milk, when we are together no bottles. For us, nipple confusion didn't exist, giving her bottle with very difficult nipple helped us to establish breastfeeding relationship. Even though all the advices are against bottles in the first 6 weeks, you do what works best for you and your baby.

If you are going to pump often, go for the double pump. I have Medela Freestyle, and I pump often (4-5xday) and it's a hard work. I could;t imagine pumping with single pump (I am back to work and still exclusively breastfeeding).

Hi! Same problem here but I somehow managed.... She slept great initially, and I was swaddling her till she was 6 weeks old, and than stopped as she would fight her arms out and woke herself up. Than her sleep problems started.... She now sleeps 40-60 minutes at the time during the day, which is one sleep cycle, and wakes up without knowing how to fall asleep again. We had so many difficult days. She got used to sleep on the breast and got such a strong association that breast=sleep. Nights are good, she is sleeping 7 hours solid, with one short feed around 4-5 am and continues till 7am, but days... Nightmare. And if she skips one of her catnaps in the afternoon, it takes us hours to settle her to sleep if she is overtired. i read so many books, and i found very useful No cry sleep solution, used few advices and we are getting better now. I decided I will not force her to sleep 2-3 hours as a nap, as long as she has 4x 1 hour naps during the day and a solid nigh sleep, we are good. She even learned how to fall asleep on her own in the past few days (she is 10 weeks old), without crying it out. What I am surprised is that she manages to consolidate her sleep cycles in the night (we co-sleep, but we are not sharing the bed so i know she is waking up periodically and is able to put herself to sleep within minutes), but is unable to do that during the day unless I "help" her with breastfeeding of she is in the stroller and I keep walking for hours. I didn't use sling yet, even though I have one, and if I have to use it so she can sleep, I will. I ordered sleeping bag which is a light swaddle and she can keep arms out, it is called puckababy mini, and I can wait to get it to see if it will help during the day. Now she falls asleep between 8and 10 pm, and we are up at 7:30 am with one short feeding at night. I am making sure I put her to sleep on the first sigh of tiredness, and I am still offering her breast to fall asleep, but I am making sure that I take the breast out when she is drowsy but now asleep and put her in the bed or in the stroller if i plan to go out with her. I hope you will manage her sleep soon... Good luck!

Hi! I didn't read all replies, so I don't know if you got similar advice. I had the same problem in the first few weeks. My girl is now 10 weeks old, and we stopped formula supplementation on her 5th day of life. She developed jaundice in the first 24h of life, so they tested her for everything, she was on IV antibiotics as she picked up infection in utero (I had rupture of membranes + failure to progress so ended with c/s after a looong day of trying to have vaginal birth). In the first few weeks I had only 50-60 ml of expressed milk, and I did it religiously every 2-3 hours. She didn't even suckle at the time, so we went through a battle to get her on the breast. It took me 2 weeks to start proper breastfeeding. Newborn baby needs 500-600 ml per day (depending on her weight), and it all depends how often she asks for food. If it is every 2-3 hours, you are good with the current amount as long as you get it on the similar schedule. My girl was too sleepy initially, and it was a nightmare to wake her up for feeding. I got Medela electrical breast pump, which can pump from both breasts simultaneously. It costed an arm and a leg, but it is worth every penny. I continued pumping for few more minutes after the milk flow would stop, I drained breasts till the last drop and just continued. This way you stimulate milk production. On top of that, every time baby was due to feed, I would offer her breast first, so she would suck a little bit, but was too hungry and didn't have energy to suckle. However, sucking also stimulates milk production. I am still expressing milk, but only if we go somewhere or if I need to store it (I am making "back to work" supply for freezing), and I currently have more milk than my girl needs. The other thing which you can do if your baby breastfeeds is when she finished with the feed, use the pump and drain the leftovers, that will stimulate the production. Use fennel seeds in your diet, small amount like teaspoon, that increases milk supply. Plus, it is beneficial against colics for the baby. I used anise seeds from Holland, muisjes de Ruijter, and I am still having them daily. Last but not least, make sure she is latching properly. And even if you feels as there is not enough milk, let her suckle, she will slowly get what she needs, breastfeeding is the perfect supply on demand system. Good luck!

I had 6 weeks check following c/s: examination, scan and Pap smear. i think smear is very important as one is not one during the pregnancy when hormones go wild. Even if scar is fine, uterus is bact to its prepregnancy size, you need pap smear.

There is plenty of advice out there to start applying make up. Lisa Eledrige has plenty of videos on her web page where she guides you step by step how to apply make up:http://www.lisaeldridge.com/ Also, Make up Geek web page has a lot of different looks, from beginners to advanced: http://www.makeupgeek.com/ However, to apply make up professionally, you will need some tools like brushes, which really make a difference for the application. Good brands are MAC, Bobby Brown, Make up forever, Urban decay but it will be pricey to get everything from scratches. You can also use drug store brands, like 7s from Boots (line from Lisa Eldrige). Basicly, you need foundation, and conceeler if you have blemishes, a blush, eye shadow in two or three complementary shades, and a lip stick. I use bare minerals foundation, which gives a great natural look. I also use a liquid foundation for some occasions, and the sales girl from Bobby Brown matched the shade to my skin.

When I red the title, I thought you were told one gender and delivered another... I just had my 16 weeks u/s done and my bebe is hiding its genitals. Gyne thinks its 90% girl, but has to confirm it on the next u/s. For the first few weeks of pregnancy I was convinced it was a boy, but than when I was 8-9 weeks pregnant I suddenly decided its a girl. I have 50% chance to be right any way ;)

Try to eat as healthy as possible... that's my advice. In general, make sure you have 3 servings a fruit a day and try to go for 5 servings of veggies daily. Add some proteins to it (meat, fish, eggs, cheese) and you are on excellent diet. I am in my first pregnancy, and following healthy eating plan. I have bad days when I go for burger and fries, but trying to limit them as much as possible. I am staying off unpasterised cheeses, and sushi , but I still have occasional deli meat and my 1-2 coffees a day. I am not a big soda user, so I don't have any Coke or similar drinks. I also have a sip or two of wine on very rare occasions. I gained a lot of weight in the 1st trimester (4kg!!!!!!) as I was eating only crackers and biscuits - they helped me against nausea. Since nausea is gone, my healthy eating is back on track and weight gain is much, much slower.

I am due in November, and thinking what to do with maternity leave. As it is my first little one, I am not sure how will I react to the sleepless nights and so on. So, I already made a combat plan: saving some vacation to use up after 45 days of maternity leave, and will try to get some unpaid leave. I am hoping to go back to work 3 months after delivery. However, maybe I will want to get away sooner?! No idea on this one! I got few books about pregnancy and the first year, and found different informations. I liked the book Bringing up bebe and decided to train my baby to sleep full night as soon as possible. probably easier said than done, lets see what will happen this fall and winter.

There is a new ENT in town, dr S. Janjanin in the Grosvenor Hotel, I've got really good reviews from some of my friends, but they don't take insurance on direct billing which is a nuisance. Same goes for dr Barbara of Dubai London Clinic, who is very good GP and dr Shukker from Dubai London Clinic who is ENT, but he may go for antibiotics very fast. For the best of my knowledge, this clinic accepts most insurance companies. Good luck with your sinus problems!

I used Shiseido and Bobby Brown liquid foundation, and few months a go bought one of the starter packages from Bare Minerals. Bobby Brown was good, and I had oily/combination skin, so got one of those matt foundations for oily skin, shade was chosen by their make up artist. Once I discovered Bare Minerals, I would not exchange it for anything else. I've been on 10 hour flights, landed in the morning, had a quick shower and barley any sleep, applied make up which is very light, and got million compliments from colleagues that I look refreshed. In the meantime, my skin changed to normal to dry thanks to pregnancy hormones, but Bare Minerals still works well. I don't find that it takes too much time for application in the morning, goes quite fast once you get the routine. i still use liquid foundations for some occasions, if I want more dramatic look or to use liquid blush, but for daily application I swear on Bare Minerals. They also have shades for different skin types, so you can find a darker shade as well.

You will hardly find fertility endocrinologist here, but you may look into gynecologist who specializes in infertility treatment. Not all gynecologist now their way well with hormones. On the other hand, any endocrinologist would have an ample knowledge about all hormones, with diabetes and thyroid disease being the most often ones.
