I would highly recommend Dr Heather Totten at Park Avenue Clinic in Motor City. A great dentist & lovely with it.

Hi I need to post a package to UK - it's fairly light, just a 30cm long narrow box with a tie inside. Where do I go to post this? Any recommendations please? Do I go to Empost in Khalifa City? Thank you Ladies :) I always use Empost & have never had any problems sending to the UK - just remember to allow plenty of time. There is an option to send by (the equivalent of) recorded delivery for a little bit more. Aramex /DHL willl charge around Dhs230 to send a parcel weighing less than 500g to the UK (I enquired yesterday).

I don't Blueskies but children here seem to go to a variety of schools - there are plenty of buses around in the morning! A friend drives her children to Brighton College daily - about 30 minutes, apparently. Join the Al Reef Ladies fb and you can ask any questions you have about schools there - it's a very active and helpful group. If you come back and would like to have a look around a villa, let me know.

We've lived in Al Reef for just over a year and love it here. We don't have a pool so can't help with the costingsbut our utility bills haven't been more than Dhs1,000 even in the summer (and my husband has the house as cold as a fridge!) Pink Properties are based in Al Reef and were very helpful to us. Otherwise, try Al Reef Village Group FB page - people sometimes advertise properties there direct from the landlord. And if you do come to Al Reef, Al Reef Ladies is a very friendly group :-)

Hi - Dr Vikram Hundia at Al Zahra has treated me for an underactive thyroid for the last three years. He's UK trained and is a great guy. I would recommend him to anyone. Good luck!

Tahir in Satwa is the best for flannel - you'll have to rummage around a bit, though! If you stand with the post office behind you and the mosque on your right, Tahir will be in front of you - between Fida and the (old) Nippur. They do close for lunch at 1pm.

Home Centre in Abu Dhabi (I'm sure they'll be in Dubai, too) has some white frames with a distresed wood inner frame - I thought them very different and would have bought them if I wasn't looking for black frames!

I've had electrolysis in the UK but not here. I'd be interested to hear how you get on Abby32 as I need some maintenance!

The main dealer for Janome in the Middle East is in Deira. It's just along from the Gold Souk. I have 04 2267 5046 as a contact number but Google Janome Dubai to check details.

Hi Delgirl - I'm a patient of Dr Vikram Hundia at Al Zahra hospital. He's UK trained and a great doctor: I'd recommend him to anyone with a thyroid condition. There are really good facilities at the hospital and it's normally very easy to make an appointment.

I have an underactive thyroid and losing lots of hair every day was a symptom(unbeknownst to me at the time). Thyroxine sorted that out - until I came here! Now I use a Blu showerhead & QV shampoo & conditioner & everything's back to normal. It might be worth getting checked out.

We lived in Jumeirah Park before moving to the Springs and I'd much rather live in this 12-year old house than the one there! So they are looking a little tired but the landscaping is very well established and Emaar maintain the neighbourhoods beautifully, I don't think JP will ever be finished or pong-free!

Have you considered changing their food? The food we gave our Springers is no longer available in Dubai so we swopped to Royal Canin which is readily available and reasonably priced (for Dubai, anyway!)

Sorin Rizan at Better Homes in Al Barsha helped us with our rented villa in Sorings. I can't recommend him highly enough. He's very straightforward and efficient - he helped us sort out some issues long after we'd paid his fee and signed the contract,

Dr Vikram Hundia at Al Zahara hospital is a first class endocrinologist, in my opinion. Explains things very well, answers all my questions and is very approachable too. Can't recommend him highly enough.

Try Nippur in Satwa (opposite the mosque) or Fida's. Nippur is my favourite but there are other shops along that stretch of road where you should be able to find what you want.

I prefer Nippur in Satwa. It's at the opposite end of the block from Fida. I think thry have a wider selection and, as already been said, their prices are keener.

Congratulations! We were married in the Five Arrows Hotel in Waddesdon - between Bicester and Aylesbury. It is just at the southernmost point of your Midlands search area but it's a fantastic venue and they couldn't have done any more to make our day perfect. Their prices are very reasonable and there are lots of options so it might be worth checking them out. http://www.waddesdon.org.uk/five-arrows/ Good luck!

I bought eight 'luxury' crackers in LuLu (upstairs) for Dhs 44.50 yesterday. They are quite large and they had them in gold and silver colourways. They also had some smaller ones in different colourways and styles for Dhs26 - can't remembr how many in a box, though! Lots of other choices too.

The only permanent way to remove facial/bodily hair is by electrolysis. I had this done before I came here so cannot recommend anyone, I'm afraid.

Early in the summer I met someone who told me about a film group in Dubai. I can remember some of the details - meets on a Wednesday, starts at 7pm, shows international films - but not the name or venue! Can anyone help?

Bake an oblong cake and cut it to shape. I once made a Jane Asher cake for a first birthday - stand a Swiss roll on end (secure wirh icing!), pour icing over the other end - it looks like a candle -and make a flame from fondant icing and a cocktail stick. Really easy and very effective!

Make an appointment with Dr Vikram Hundia at Al Zahara hospital. I have been a diabetic for a number of years and he is the first doctor to really explain all aspects of my condition in a very clear and precise way. He is lovely and very approachable. Going to see him was the best thing for me and my diabetes!
