There is a clause for redundancy under the UAE Labour Law however it is called Arbitary dismisall, having made numerous people redundant and given the time that he has served with the present company, he may be entitle to one months notice and one months compensation as classed as arbitary dismissal, under no circumstances would i sign a termination letter. Article 117 is not as clear cut as it may seem so my advice in general would be to approach the MOL in Al Ghusais. On another note I know that a company in MEP and Construction are hiring at the moment he can send his CV to [email protected]

The children can be in the family book without the mother being there, they obtain nationality from their father so it is automatic, when the wife moves from the back to the front this is when she receives the nationality, as I said in my previous post if only now you are being entered you will go into the back until the waiting period is over and this can be anything from 3- years years. As for the visa they know that you have a british passport as it is all linked I asked this specificly, I am talking from a UK standpoint here and it may well be different for other nationalities. Travellign with 2 passports is risky and the immigration in the UAE do check for valid visas, if they find you with another passport its a huge problem and could result in your nationality being revoked and all sorts of other issues. Sit back stay cool and dont worry about it until you get the green light to go ahead and that will be after so many security check, producing documents etc.

i handed my British passport when I received the UAE National one however, if you are only now going into the family book unless your husband has BIG wasta it will take time and by that I mean anywhere from 3-7 years depending on what Emirate you are in and how many children and his work. When I handed in my passport to the immigration the British Embassy told me that I wwould always be able to apply for another passport however I would not be eligible for a visa for the UK in my UAE passport as I was holding a British Passport, this is new regulations that came into effect about 2 years ago. I would not worry about it now as the process is a long drawn out one that takes time and the rules in your country and or here may change.

But annual rents are a ME thing - all of the gulf states operate this way; including for nationals of that country. We are nationals and we pay monthly always have and always will do, if everyone said we are paying monthly what choice would the landlord have.

they only have one, I was sceptical at first but when I saw the PO bills and delivery notes on the drivers docket, I was certain that this is the brand that is sold throughout the UAE in all major sport stores.

Try carrefour they have really good trampolines, I have purchased 2 from them in the last year, they deliver the next day and if I recall correctly they deliver free. ETA the trampolines are the same as in intersport and sun and sand, the driver had bills from both with delivery notes. edited by Birchy on 20/12/2011

Here you go this is the way that my inlaws and I make it 1/4 cup green coffee beans 2 cups water 1/2 teaspoon saffron threads pinch ground cloves 1 1/2 teaspoons rose water 1 level teaspoons cardamom Roast beans over the fire in a small frying pan or roast in an oven until lightly golden brown. Traditionally, after roasting, the beans are ground in an electric coffee grinder. Add the ground beans to the water and boil rapidly for three to five minutes. in the meantime, place the saffron, cloves, cardamom and rosewater in a large flask, pour hot coffee over this and leave to steep for 30-40 minutes. edited by Birchy on 06/07/2011

I was British and my husband a UAE National, my daughter although being born here and holding a UAE Passport is still listed as being a British Citizen and can holda British Passport at anytime in her life and pass that on to her children. She also holds a right of abode in her UAE passport so that she has the right to work and live in the UK on her UAE passport, as far as I know for the UK as long as the parent is British it doesn not matter where the chid is born.

Parking is a nightmare you are best to park in mega mall and walk across although it is a little hot, when are you coming .? The best way is to come on the Dubai Sharjah highway onto al wahda street head for the gold centre it will be on your left turn left under the bridge follow thenroadndown and you will come to a large roundabout with all mobile phone shops on it, turn left at the roundabout 3rd exit and immigration is there on the left side it is sign posted from there, the other alternative is to go to sahara and catch a cab

take care when eating camel meat it is classed as a hot meat and in some cases it can really effect your stomach in a bad way, I recall the first time I ate it and boy it was painful and not an enjoyable experience sitting in the bathroom for 2 days.

Hi ACB, I had a consultation with them and was not that impressed to be honest with you, I was recommended to go to another Dr and he actually said that under no circumstances would he perform the operation as my BMI was not high enough over to warrant it. however cosmosurge were willing to do it, I then went to another Dr and he agreed that they would not do it for the same reasons. I personally felt that they were just interested in getting my money out of me, the Dr that I can recommend is Dr Abdul Salam @ Behoul hospital and his muber is 050 412 5051. Please think about it carefully before you decide it is a HUGE operation. All the best

I was there today and thought show was amazing we left early duento the unruly kids running around, sitting kicking chairs, up and down and people talking all the way through, four year old even said do these children not know how to behave, I was very very disappointed with the behavior of some of the kids , I mean what adult allows the child sitting on her lap to continually kick the chair because he was bored and the pull another childs hair rant over

As per the UAE labour court a deduction cannot be more than 5 days of the monthly salary however if you have signed a housing loan form it is a little shaky - given all of that all the cases that I have known recentley the UAE court have ruled in favor of the employee

For me i do the following 1 whole chicken 2 whole onions cut in half 1 green chilli 2 dried loomi Pinch of black pepper Pinch of cumin seeds 2 Cardamon pods Boil a whole chicken for around 45 mins in slightly salted water, leave to cool in the water so that the moisture retains. The stock that is then left over I make into either vegetable or chicken and mushroom soup, either that or add some cornflour and water, a table spoon of bisto and it makes an amazing gravy.

Smilies, thank you for your response. He has an unlimited contract. Apparently there are loopholes (probably a fee to be paid) and he can get an NOC? The laws of the UAE remain puzzling. If he receives a ban, can he pay a fee to get the ban lifted? Not anymore, ban if from the mol and not the employer anymore noc are no longer available for use in the mol so please don't fall for it !,,,

What labour contract does he have limited or unlimited ? Ifi it is limited he has to give 3 months notice and if the co wish to terminate they also need to provided 3 months notice or pay in lieu of notice. In respect to the noc he will need to have completed 2 years in order not to receive a ban from the mol unless he is in a freezing or government

Hi Wbusy I am married to a national and to be honest when I went for lessons it didn't help me that much, I learnt so much more from being around his family and being around other locals. DUCTAC sounds great as often when I communicate in Arabic in blackberry messenger I type using numbers and letters. Please let me know how you get on if you decide to take lessons Xxx edited by Birchy on 10/04/2011

I personally hated every minute of it, the sound was bad the organization of the whole thing was a shambles and the escalators getting out was a joke and a real fire hazard not also to mention that the bars were not equipped for the crowds and boy georges performance was so inappropriate. Glad some of you enjoyed it
