I have a pair if you're interested (Bronze) - only really want to sell them together but selling them at face value. Let me know if you would like them.

I think the recruitment landscape is just different here to perhaps what we are used to back home. Great store is set by two things which can be tricky for people: 1. Years of experience - so if you had a great job and achieved some great things it can be overlooked if you only have 5 years overall 2. Middle East experience - there are lots of people looking who do have this so if you've just arrived it can be tough to beat out competition. I don't have any great words of wisdom of how to overcome these problems but keep hassling the recruitment agencies, utilise linkedin, use bayt.com and if you are on sponsored visa then see if you can do temp work to fill the gap / get some local experience. Good luck!

Lloyds was sold to hsbc so that won't be an option any more. We did one through Emirates nbd but it wasn't on arrival as company stopped doing advances without notice so we were caught short.

Anybody know a good roast that does chicken / turkey? We've tried Nineteen at the Address Montgomerie but wanted really just a meal rather than a buffet type scenario. I don't eat beef or pork so don't know about my Reform. My DH said it was nice but very salty.

Where can you buy a good blow up bed? I want one that is actually going to be comfy through the night and not be flat as a pancake by the morning as once summer is over I have a steady stream of guests due. Any thoughts?

I have one (fitted over 3 years ago before I moved here). I have absolutely no problem with mine and it makes my life easier. I didn't want to add any more hormones to my body so wanted to stop the contraceptive pill. I've noticed my time of the month being heavier than previously and I definitely underestimated how much it would hurt fitting it. I tried to go straight from my appointment to a client meeting and I was pouring with sweat because I felt so awful. Had to excuse myself and go home to bed. It settles fairly quickly though (about a couple of days in my case) but I'm certainly not looking forward to the point when it will need to be replaced. Overall it was worth it for me. I guess it's just a personal choice and make sure you ask the doctor about pros and cons so that you can weigh everything up based on your specific circumstances.

It depends whether it is the employment visa part or the residence visa part. People seem to get confused between these and they are different. One is your right to work with a particular employer and doesn't actually result in getting anything stamped in your passport but a paper employment visa which is then applied to your passport either when you enter the country or through a visa amendment if you're not exiting and re-entering.The second is your right to reside in the country and this is where you have to do the medical, wait for the results and then get the residence visa stamped in your passport. For the vast majority of people you need the first before you can get the second. They can do the employment visa part without physically having your passport but not the stamping of the residence visa. Either way I don't think you can travel out once either is under process until the residence visa is stamped in the passport so you might want to check with them on the timelines.

As far as I'm aware if your new employer has already submitted your new visa application, travelling in or out of the country will invalidate the application and they would have to apply (and pay) again. I think this is because they have to say whether you are in or out of the country and you have to remain one or the other during the application process. So you might want to check with them before you travel out so that they don't apply until you're out of the country and then you can return on the new employment visa.

Thanks! Dubizzle doesn't seem to be working for me yet and I bought the bed off a friend who was moving back home so don't know the exact retail price. Will lower my asking price and see where I get to. Thanks for the help.

I've never driven before. However I have managed to get on the bus home afterwards with absolutely no issues. I've only been to the last 2 and believe that they've made improvements based on feedback at previous ones. The buses seem to go to pretty obvious places like Marina and Mall of the Emirates and it's then easy to get a taxi from there.

Just so you know there is a way back from a written warning - performance improvement. It doesn't automatically mean somebody will / should be fired. The idea is to set out very clearly the issues and what improvement is expected, along with the timeframe. Make it clear the consequences of not achieving the improvement and when you will review again eg. in one month / two months. Good luck!
