Tictactoe-the agency is an arabic name. I will get it for you this week. my MIL has been handling it. I was emailed a few applications and conducted telephone interviews. The ladies are overseas. I feel this may be better but I notice many expats use maids that are already in Dubai

I was considering a trip to Bali in mid November. It seems it will be rain season. I searched on here and found many accomadation recommendations but I am interested in feedback from anyone that has gone there during November (start of rain season). Is it nonstop rain? Is it worth going? scanning thru trip advisor now as well thank you

mashkara, why is it worrying you? i just feel that there are many CV's but they get jobs very quickly so often when I contact them they already have a job are you going thru an agency?? if so maybe you should switch. there are many in the agencies and each one I have spoken to is very eager to come here

I need one right now until a replacement because a few times a week my daughter needs therapy that coincides with school pickups. I have tried and tried to change the appointments but cannnot. I would hate to miss more than a weeks worth Based on the advice here I will cancel the visa same day as the contract expires and send them both back on the dates the contract finishes. I will tell them on the day of the flight. Before anyone jumps on me I do not want to deal with a runner and already feel I am being played. just curious- when they do run away where do they go? other houses that are not legal? I pay more than the contract states and give plenty of time off. Do they make that much more elsewhere?? Also suprised about Canada being a prospect.

Thank you for all the input. One of them says she has a job offer in Canada (?!) in December and the other is being very evasive which is unlike her. Both want to stay on my visa yet not live here for 30 days. I offered to transfer the visa if they had the sponser as I want to make sure I do everything legal. seems I will cancel the visas the day the contract ends and send them home. I guess from there they can sort out new opportunities.

Thank you for all the responses. I asked if there was anywhere I should transfer the visa or anything and I am getting yes and no answers. Seems something is being hidden and not sure why. They were insisting that they would stay on MY visa and LIVE elsewhere (friends, etc) That in and of itself sounded odd. I was expecting the one not to renew but the second has suprised me.

Sorry this does not answer your question but you peaked my curiousity and I looked thru some of the adds. I noticed one looking for a maid's room only (?!) and others that are still working for families. I dont know anyone who has employed a maid from Dubizzle-usally an agency. If you do employ someone from Dubizzle or start interviewing keep in mind they will have thier own expectations and work styles as they have been in other houses. This can be a positive or negative aspect.

Teenagers can be quite devious, I know some who had one FB identity which their parents had complete access to and a second one in a different name for "private" use. Most do. They open up a new account outside of home and arrange for the name not to appear in a search. They usally only go on the second facebook account on thier phone or outside of the house. They also can block you from seeing most of thier posts/photos on thier wall by customizing the setttings,,,, very common here

I have two girls and loads to sell that was not used much due to relocating for awhile and now back. I will be posting in the classifieds. 2 cribs that convert into beds (one cream colored from Alana's Baby Dream and one oak from Mothercare),,,endless clothes, unused toys, etc.

Thank yoiu for the responses. I was very clear in asking if mussels were even on the menu. She said mussels are only on the menu once a week...and just to double check I asked if they were on the menu Saturday for lunch- "No ma'am , no mussels on the menu." I am dealing with this now! I was sent the wrong absentee ballot request. you need a different one if you are living overseas or in the military. I had to call Friday and was passed around like salt and pepper before I got an answer. you go online and download the postcard request...(some states/counties let you vote online) download the request -print and fill out the form and I may be able to send it out for you this week. This is JUST the request. Then the actual ballot will get mailed here to you. We are alotted extra time. As stated each state is different..let me know if you want me to pass on the request to get mailed out

I was in the US for over a year and it is near impossible to find a job in the area I was...even as a cashier at Target and starbuck's (which by the way recieves over 30 applicants a DAY of adults who are out of work). A family friend who is a social worker for over 30 years and dealt with unemployed families says she has never seen it this bad, not even close. The county Sheriff said that he has had to deal with more foreclosures than he ever imagined in his career the past few years than all his decades combined in the department. I was back in school and the class was ALL adults (!) just about all out of work. The professor asked the class on the first day how many already have a degree (everyone), have a masters ( 19 out of 25), and how many are laid off or about to get laid off (23). The majority were teachers. Now many guidance counselors are pushing trade schools unless your determined to go into healthcare (which seems to be getting overflooded) or engineering. It is one thing to visit the States but another to live there and see first hand. this is based on my area...from what I understand North Dakota is the only state as a whole thriving. I only know of mixed marriages where the home is decorated with all sorts of Halloween decor int his respect. Also many Emirati's have their children dress up in costume and attend events with all forementioned decor and the like. At the end of the day if you dont want to offend in your host country than it is better to err on the side of caution if you feel so. As we see on these boards and in daily life everyone is different

I think it depends on your neighbours. We have [b'>local, Muslim [/b'>neighbours, and they decorate their house for Halloween, they give out candy, and their son has gone out dressed up in past years with our kids to trick or treat. Not everyone would be okay with this though.
