Did not see a thread devoted to this yet Anyone want to add any great deals or what stores are having the best sales this week I went to the Bath and Body Sale one yesterday at Dubai Mall and got loads of tropical large candles for 45aed ( I know there is a thread on that alone) Gymboree says they are having their biggest sale of the year starting today Life pharmacy - if you spend 200aed you get a 50 aed voucher on many selected brands

I also can't say it would never happen to me but with two little ones of my own I actually get questionable when I feel the quiet. I just can't imagine not realizing after that amount of time not knowing your child was not with you. My heart breaks for these innocent little angels that were robbed a full life and I do also feel horrific for the guilt these parents will carry with until their last breath On another spin off- I notice a lot of stories on here from a generation ago. Reminds me of being purposely left in the car by my father while he went shopping even in the US Summers. Makes me cringe today as what could have happened and of course I hated it. I would look around at other cars and see the occasional other 5 , 6 year olds waiting in cars also. Than the Etan Patz story hit my community

Sorry for the misinformation Ophelia For some reason I thought the children's Garden in Jumeria was somehow connected to JBS, maybe just same owners I understand how you feel. I feel children are only this young for such a short amount of time. When we moved here from USA and placed her in BC she was so far behind and was feeling a lot of pressure. As another poster stated, maybe it's a Dubai thing How about ASD?

Thanks to Wuffles and PPM for enlightening me, it had never occurred to me that books might be used for decoration!! In answer to the original question, the book I've read recently that I most enjoyed was "Gone Girl". Wondering why blondie007 felt let down? I really enjoyed reading Gone Girl and could not put it down, it was the ending that I felt let down. I don't want to write any *****spoilers****but it just seemed like it was wrapped up oddly(for lack of a better word) On a book club forum from my home area a lot felt the same while others felt it was genius :)))

While a great read, I was really let down by Gone Girl. Trying to get into "Dark Places" right now. Years ago I read "Becoming Madame Mao" and everyone I passed it on to (such varying demographics!) have always thanked me. It was just one of those very special reads.

Seeing mixed on here. We got an offer for seats for all our children at our number one choice but already placed deposit at another school before we heard. When DH called about a refund he was told no, only if we moved. Am I going about this wrong? Something else I can do? Thank you

HI B4, sorry to tell you but it is the one you are going to visit! I know there is a few ladies that have stayed more than one year but in general the turn over is exceptionally high with teachers not even staying a whole term :-( .. I think last year up to ten teachers and TAs left, most only stayed a few weeks or months,,,, but if you ask at the nursery then you probably wont hear about it from them ,, Just curious if you had children there There was a lot of confusion

To add- when I had to have the maid leave after the contract finished I was told so many different stories from her- the aunts in Abu Dabi that she wanted to stay with under our visa and many more. The day she left she seemed happy and said she needed to take care of her ill father in the Philippines. We hugged and I thought we left off well. At the airport she also had a ticket for Iran unbeknownst to me. She was unable to use it and suddenly turned. She threatened and cursed at staff and demanded the police be called. When they spoke with her you would not believe the accusations she made about our family. She winded up being police escorted on the plane. I'm sharing this to just be mentally prepared for other possibilities and mainly to add that the police were very nice and helpful. I think that is why other ladies on here are warning you about the notice. I'm not sure what she was planning but it must not have been legal with us. The ladies are also telling you to make sure someone is there with her at the airport for any possibilities. I understand how some may be baffled but sadly a lot can happen Good luck

Depending on the facials. If we talk about the ones where the beautician just applies hydrating masks and makes a massage, then no. But I swear by paraffin facial-for dehydrated and aged skin and also for the caviar facial, with micro-lifting effect. At these you see the difference before and after. And those facials are done in a sequence and the effect lasts for weeks. For the rest I just use a range of dermato-cosmetics special for skin 40+ (I brought these from home) and for usual home facials with honey, coc0nut oil, clay masks and exfoliating masks. Where do you recommend to get these type of facials ? Sounds fantastic !

As someone who has worked there in the past I really feel this is a wind up OR the OP is not getting the full story. It was made clear as water that engaging in s#x contact while unmarried and getting caught was a HUGE no-no !!!! A US citizen in my company also manged to get pregnant and was not even a month along. She contacted a friend from the embassey and was flown out within 2 days. No if, ands , or buts....no stories-nothing- she was told staying was not an option. very similiar to your friend's situation. Im not sure about the stamping , but I would not be suprised. Any behavior deemd innappropiate by the religious police standards is not tolerated. I myself was questioned at a hotel bustop one afternoon for standing too close with a co-worker. we were not even shoulder to shoulder- it was very innocent. We were given a warning.
