Hi seasand I will ask my son to seek advice from his careers guidance counsellor, although he has not had an appointment with one yet but I know the school is making appointments soon. To me this should have been done before now!! I'm intrigued by what you want to put to me.

Hi Silvstet One school has offered us a place but has given us a date in April to pay the deposit by but I have to send an acceptance letter back in 10 days. I wanted to know if I accept, can I decline before I pay the deposit?? I will have heard from the second school by then.

Hi can anyone give me advice on accepting school places? We have had an acceptance from one school and have to send the acceptance letter off in 10 days and pay a deposit by April. We have also applied to another school but we will not know until the end of February if we have a place. Can I accept the first school and later decline before I have paid a deposit or will l get charged? Any information, much appreciated, thanks.

Hi Anyone who has children in an international school, do you have to pay extra on top of the school fees for after school clubs such as sport? Any information appreciated, just try ing to work out total cost of yearly schooling. Thanks.

My husband has looked round one school and it looks like it will be ok to get my eldest into it but it will be more difficult for my 8 year old. Has anyone got any advice on which good British curriculum schools it would be easier to get my youngest into? Thanks

Thanks for that information Buddha. You mentioned that some universities are tougher than others, when can you find out if they will class you with home status? Do you know if you can phone and ask or is it only when your child has been accepted? It would be great to hear from anyone who has been through this situation.

Hi, my husband is currently working in the UAE and we are looking to join him next year. We have 2 children aged 8 and 15, my eldest is completing his GCSE's in the UK but hoping to do A levels in the UAE. I am hoping to get responses from anyone who has gone through the process of their child/children doing A levels and then returning to the UK to attend university. Are there any disadvantages for the child? Has anyone had any problems getting into UK universities? I would appreciate any advice, thanks.
