Need your help ladies, please! My DH renewed his E-Gate card at T3 on Tuesday morning and gave over a $500 bill instead of a $100...it wasn't until he got through to the gate that he realized his mistake. I spent all day yesterday trying to get in touch with the E-Gate desk at T3 (by security) and every number I was given was invalid or they would give me another number to call. I must have called 25 different numbers yesterday and its started up again this morning. Is anyone travelling through the terminal today that could ask for their correct telephone number - PLEASE!???

I really like the Latitude for Brunch at Jumierah Beach Hotel. I've seen kiddies there before..... there website says they have Kiddies Entertainment on selected days,.....might be worth calling them. They are also in the Entertainer! edited by Brits Abroad on 10/09/2014

THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU Solo!!!! Have found it .....now have a smiling DH! 2nd baby - the guy I spoke to last night at Du basically said its nothing to do with Du...... And I needed to find the channels out myself as they don't have this information..... Annoyed me as they've recently increased the package prices again! At least now I can cancel AD sports package as we only had that for F1. Here's to a fun F1 season!

I've been to showers where we've: 1. Guess size of bump by looking, then cut some ribbon to the length you think and put it around the bump 2. Buy some baby grows/onesies and fabric pens and have the guest draw a design on them for the baby 3. Write A through Z on a sheet of paper and add a word, pregnancy/baby related for that letter and read them out and see how has the funniest Here are some other suggestions: http://pregnant.thebump.com/pregnancy/baby-showers/articles/the-best-baby-shower-games.aspx

I have recently moved to Dubai from the USA....and miss the lifestyle sooo much! I do not have children, but most of my friends/colleagues did and they used some great nanny/baby sitting agencies. And like Chi2dxd said, on $100k salary, you can easily afford a nanny and cleaner...... in the US a lot of the nurseries/schools are open 'full time' and children can attend after school activities. My old bosses children attended nursery from about 6 weeks old, as the maternity leave is awful and she would drop them off at 7:30am and pick them up at 5:30pm as she went back to work full time. Food and clothes are sooo much cheaper in the USA...... I still get freaked out at the prices over here....and here we live TAX FREE! I lived on the east coast (Atlanta and Miami).....and would move back to Atlanta in a heart beat......its the main hub for Delta airlines and you can get a flight to almost anywhere in the USA within 4hrs.....plus a lot of international flights come in/out of Atlanta. The weather is great, especially in the summer......but you do get cold winters....but not as cold as the north. The schooling was good and there was always something to do, whether you had a family or not. I was nervous about moving to the USA (from the UK) at first but once we were there, it was so easy to make friends and feel settled. Always here if you have more questions.

great. Thank you for the positive feedback, I will look more into their flights! And a dry airline is perfect for my mum.....don't want to getting off the flight drunk.....that wouldn't be a pretty sight!!

Its always hard moving away from the people you love and home comforts......trust me.... I have moved to 2 different countries/3 cities in 6 years and I hate having to start over.....its Ok for my husband as we are always moving for his job so he socialises every day....whilst I am 'stuck' at home....also trying to find my niche! Talking to a counselor might really help. Do you attend any of the expat woman coffee mornings??? I couldn't be without these groups of women, from all over the world who all seem to be here for the same reason......our husbands careers!! Its the highlight of my week....... When I feel lonely and lost here, I just remind myself how fortunate I am to have my health, a loving husband, great family and friends, a roof over my head, food in the cupboards and money in the bank. Keep smiling!!

Thank you ladies for this information!! We have had both in the past and prefer cooking on a stove with gas but was worried it would be expensive...... might look into the gas stove/electric oven option.

Sorry if this is a stupid question but when i look at the transformers on-line it looks like they all have US plugs..... do you then use a travel adapter into the wall or did you buy your transformers in dubai? We bought our transformers here. We plug our US appliances into them, then plug the unit into the wall. Ok -great thank you!! Where can we get them from in Dubai?

Thank you so much for the replies. The area's you both mentioned are already on my "communities I need to check out" list, so that's good to know that its OK to walk your dogs there. I also went on to the Pet Planet website last week and saw the weekend off the leash dog park.......I can see myself being there every week!! We are very excited about the move and meeting new people. Thank you
