Hi LadyBrit. Sorry for bumping such an old post but I was searching the forum for similar issues. I am facing the same issue currently with a school that is trying their best to label my absolutely normal and healthy 4 year old as a special needs child. I am really stressed out. Could you please suggest how you came out of this situation and if you were able to find a better school. Thanks.

Hello. Has anyone registered their child for Kings School Dubai for FS1 starting in 2018? Did you receive an invitation for submission of documents yet? I applied as soon as the registrations opened on the website and have still not received the email.

Hello. Anyone here with kids in this school? Need some feed back pls. How is it academically? Are all teachers UK trained? Are the students from any specific nationality in majority or is there a good diversity? Thanks.

Hi Does anyone know of any "reliable" private transport company that I can use daily from Dubai to Sharjah and back. I have got a job offer from a company based in Sharjah and I don't want to tire myself out by driving so much daily. It would be nice if I can just sit in a van and read a nice book on the way maybe :) Taxi would be too expensive. Any options?

Thanks a lot Poppy. Yes I have the smiley face one. I am a bit confused though. I recently read on another forum that the holder expires after a month of purchase. Is this true? Any idea? I am inclined to believe it since I used it in my last cycle and did not get a bfp (not much of a justified reason I know :)

I feel sad for innocent people being targeted anywhere in the world. Sadly it is so common now that it is not practically possible for me to be glued to the tv all the time to get updates on all of them. I would not choose to give importance to one over the other since innocent lives are important regardless of the status of their country - highly developed or under developed. War also has certain rules to follow and ideally no innocent civilians should be killed. I don't know what the world is heading towards. Lets all pray for the innocent souls who have lost their lives to such incidents - whether it be in the most powerful country in the world or one which is not so powerful. I have read about these so called wars in detail so I know my facts about how many innocent people (including a large number of children) have lost their lives in these.

Thank you soooo much A and Poppy. I went to the mall today and was really happy to finally find conceive plus at boots. Just hope it works for me. Thanks a lot for your wishes. Poppy - You are right, it is quite ironic. I was actually thinking that the first AF might be depressing for me but in fact it was quite a relief. We are also planing to follow the SMEP this time. It seems like a difficult plan with our normal routine but we have decided to try it for sure this time. I hope we are able to and it works for us In shaa Allah. I am glad to know that it worked for you :) I was taking Duphaston last time before my IUI. Our doctor has recommended to try naturally for a few months before going to the IUI route again (since I fell pregnant with the first attempt). I think I will still ask her if she thinks that we should at least take Duphaston. Thank you soooo much for offering the O-sticks. That is so sweet of you. I have the test holder and around 5 sticks left. I have heard that the sticks are not available in Dxb on their own, so I might need the sticks that you have. edited by Busybee87 on 05/04/2013

Hello. Finally my first post D&C AF has arrived and we are ready to start trying again. I have done some online search and am considering using preseed/conceive plus lubricant this time. Does anyone have any experience in using these? Is it now available in Dubai? I read some previous posts on it but am looking for more updated info on the availability.

I shopped more than I did last year. Definitely check out Turkey for the pretty crockery, Spain for good quality (and yet cheap) Saffron, Saudi Arabia for cheap scarves (after you bargain) and Pakistan for reallyyy nice antique style wood furniture and colorful summer foot wear (called Kolapuris).

I used Belhasa and regret it. There admin is pathetic. As for the instructors, I was not satisfied with my first one so got her changed. The second one was Ms. Ayesha at the Jabel Ali branch who was an outstanding teacher. I owe my first attempt license to her. I suggest whichever institute you select, do some research on the best instructor there. It is always better to have the place close to your office/home because you never know how many classes you will end up taking.

Hi - I had a surgery done to remove nasal polyps last year. I went back home for the surgery but I was seeing Dr. Naggar at Medcare before and after the procedure. He was the one who suggested the surgery. I highly recommend him. My surgery was endoscopic surgery (FESS). I had fungal sinusitis and nasal polyps. It was making my life miserable. I had even lost my sense of smell. I was given steroids before the surgery for around 25 days and some after the surgery as well. If you are given these I highly recommend that you speak to your doctor about the side effects and weigh them with the benefits before deciding to take them. These tablets had a very bad affect on my mood and also on my cycles. For the surgery I was put on general anasthesia so did not feel a thing. Subsequently, I had nasal bleeding for around 3-5 days. The surgery really helped me at the end of the day and now Alhamdulilah I feel MUCH better. Let me know if you have any questions. All the best.

I went for my 9 weeks scan yesterday. Baby A is doing well Alhamdulilah but Baby B was still measuring 6 wks only with no heartbeat :( The doctor has said that I should keep no hope now and that Baby B would either be absorbed by my body or I might bleed. I have convinced myself that this baby will wait for his/her right time up in heaven and will inshAllah come back to me in the future :) I am now just a bit worried that if I do not bleed, will this effect the other baby? They are fraternal so the doctor says that one should not effect the other but I am still worried. I am already 9 weeks and my next scan is going to be at 12 weeks. AmyAus and Feefmick did you bleed before the baby vanished? How long did it take for her to completely vanish from the ultrasound? I have heard that if the baby stays after the first trimester it can cause complications for the other. Thanks to all of you for your support!

Thanks a lot for your feed back. I guess I must try and convince myself that this was not really in my control. Unfortunately I am unable to wipe off that ray of hope from my mind that maybe his/her heartbeat will pop up in my next scan. I am actually worried about both of them now :( Please remember me in your prayers ladies. Really need them.

I know it's late, but thank you so much TC and Mahawish for your feedback. I got my HSG done yesterday at Medcare. They injected some sedative that almost put me to sleep so the procedure was Alhamdulilah not at all painful. You guys were absolutely right in saying that I should get it done before the IUI....now that I know that my tubes are doing fine I feel much more hopeful and positive :)

I applied online and was asked to fill the form again at the police station. They will not take your fingerprints if you already have an Emirates Id (since the system will have them already). I got mine done at the Jabel Ali Police Station. Make sure you note down and take the name of the requestor of the certificate (Your Company in this case) in Arabic. They asked me for it and I showed it to them on my cell phone.

Btw for those who want to try Ravi, please make sure you order/visit the branch opposite to Burjuman Mall and the one which is called "Ravi Resturaunt" and not "Bait Al Ravi". There is a huge difference in the quality of food.

You can try Kabab Rolls (Discovery Gardens branch delivers at Springs) and Students Biryani (Barsha branch delivers at Springs with a minimum order of AED 50 only). Kabab Rolls is a bit on the spicy side but you can always tell them to keep it mild.

This recipe is very similar, but the original ones have some sort of dough conditioner in them that is what makes them so fluffy. But I have used this recipe forThanksgiving rolls and were told they taste similar to Texas Roadhouse Rolls. •1 package active dry yeast •1/2 c. warm water •2 c. milk, scalded then cooled to room temperature •3 Tbsp. melted butter, slightly cooled •1/2 c. sugar •7-8 c. flour •2 eggs •2 tsp. salt •1/2 c. honey Directions 1.Dissolve the yeast in the warm water with a teaspoon of the sugar. In a mixing bowl, add the yeast and sugar mixture, milk, the rest of the sugar, honey (if you're using it), and enough flour to make a medium batter. Beat thoroughly. Beat together and let it stand until light and foamy. Add the melted butter, eggs, and salt and beat well. 2.At this point you'll want to add enough flour to form a soft dough. Don't throw all 8 cups in or it might be too much. Sprinkle a small amount of flour onto the counter top and let the dough rest for a few minutes. 3.While the dough is resting, grease a large bowl. Then knead the dough until it is smooth and satiny. If you have a KitchenAid you can knead the dough with the hook attachment for about 4-5 minutes. Then put the dough in the greased bowl. Pick it up and turn it over so it's greased on the other side as well. Cover the dough and let it rise till it is double in size (about 30 to 40 minutes). 4.When it has risen to double get some rage out and punch away. Put the dough out onto a floured surface and divide it out into portions for shaping. Let it rest for another 10 minutes. Shape the little dough pieces into desired forms. Place on greased baking sheets and let rise until doubled in size. 5.Bake at 350 degrees for 15 minutes until golden brown. Baste immediately with butter. shape rolls by rolling out the dough into a rectangle, about 1/2-inch thick, then fold the rectangle in half, making it about 1-inch thick. Use rolling pin and roll over the dough just to seal the two halves together. Then use a dough scraper and cut the rolls into squares and place them on a greased baking sheet. ◦Cinnamon Honey Butter: ◦1/2 cup butter ◦1/2 cup powdered sugar ◦1/2 cup honey ◦1 tsp. cinnamon (Leave powdered sugar out if too sweet for your taste) Thanks A LOT for sharing this recipe Rubbadubber! I'm gonna try it when m back from holidays in 2 weeks. Will be my first try with bread/ rolls....have only baked cakes and brownies so far.

Dubai Gynecology and Fertility Clinic (DGFC) at Building 64, Dubai Healthcare City. I highly reccomend Dr. Mohammad there. I suggest your friend visits them for an appointment since their telephone lines are normally busy. The clinic otherwise seems to be adequately professional so far. Good luck to your friend.

Hey..had my appointment yesterday. I cannot thank all the ladies on this forum enough for all the posts on Dr. Muhammad. If it wasnt for you girls I wouldv never found out about him. I was extremely nervous before my visit and kept thinking how I would answer the "personal" questions in front of a male doctor (yeah m a shy looser ;) ) Also, based on my past experiences with the snobish gynes (sorry but most of them are just rude and cold) I always ended up in tears while talking about how we were trying to conceive for so long. I cannot believe that I left Dr. Muhammads room with a BIG smile on my face. I cannot praise him enough. He is comforting, practical, open to questions and also seems to be quite experienced in his field. Just like Dallydoo, we are not planing to consult anyone else after him :) He has prescribed some further tests for us after which we will discuss the treatments required. He has also given us an option to bring any recent ultrasound and blood test reports that we may already have so that we dont spend extra money (I could not get hold of them before the visit). This shows that he is also not the money maker type. I am really looking forward to the treatment now :)

Hi Ladies! We'v finally booked an appointment with Dr. Mohammad at DGFC. We have been trying for around 2 years and no luck. I have no idea about the doctors other thn Dr Mohammad who has been mentioned on this forum a few times I think. What should I expect in my first appointment. All they told me is tht DH will have a semen test :S
