Zilch really. Theres one about a meat stealing maid... Been going on and on and on and on... And it appears that the maid is not really a maid but a cleaning lady from a rather posh suberb in Uk (or somewhere, but def not Dubai!!)

I have a droopy eye from having Bells Palsy after delivering my daughter and if I could chose one thing I would get it fixed. (I will one day when I get up the nerve and feel justified in spending the money on something elective.) If you could change just ONE thing about your appearance what would it be? [i'>*Yes, we should all be happy with what we have been given etc etc blah blah but it is Thursday (even though it is Wednesday) so leave off with the PC ranting about self love and surgery or wishful thinking not being the answer. Thanks muchly*[/i'> Just noticed the disclaimer at the bottom...Made me chuckle!

Morning Got a visitor over next week who loves all things "trainy", so aiming to spend a fair amount of time on The Metro. Have used it quite alot myself but I'm only really familiar with the New Dubai area and know that he will love the Old Town. Couple of questions if anyone can help me out: Is Khalid Bin Al Waleed station the same as what people call Burjaman(sp) where the Burjaman Centre is in Bur Dubai? and: Which station would it be best to get off at to go to The Creek (Where all the abras and "watch" souks are and Dubai museum) and is it walkable? Would really appreciate any advice. Thanks

No plans for tonight as he is away during the week, but will go for a nice meal in AD at the weekend when we are together again. *whispers*... It may seem like a strange thing to post but it may be worth asking for room 341..!! Its got a huge balcony with sunloungers etc and a stunning view of both the mountains and the sea.... Sure we didn't pay extra for it, so it may be worth checking if its available....

We stayed at The Crowne Plaza and to be honest enjoyed sitting round the pool (Mind you, Vikram who was in Corrie was there so that was an added bonus!). But we also went on a half day fishing trip organized through the hotel which gave us an opportunity to see the stunning coastline. We also popped over to The Chedi, but much preferred Crown Plaza...

I don't think for a second that October is suggesting that she doesn't love and value her parents...She clearly does. But i must admit, although its lovely to see "The Olds", when you've lived with your own family for a number of years, done things your way etc, It can be quite mentally draining living under the same roof for 2 weeks or more.....

Do I need to book longs? Is it smoking? Wouldn't want that for my lo??? Hmmm... Both places i suggested are smoky I'm afraid. Wouldn't reccommend either for LOs. Don't really eat much pork so don't honestly know the best brunches to suggest. Hope someone else can help.

Does it have to be a yacht/cruiser? We did a YellowBoats 75 min Atlantis, Palm and Burj Al Arab with visitors and it was great - informative, lovely photo opps and a very knowledgeable driver (captain?) It goes from the marina, next to Spinneys. That sounds great for visitors... How much was it if you don't mind me asking?

What's with the frying pan? Was there some drama involving maid and frying pan that I missed? Oh gosh...I dread to think..... There sure was! The maid had made madams life a misery...But the fact that she stole the egg pan kept the thread going for days!! Must actually add that on the other thread.."Best threads of 2010".

She was really quite sweet. Doncha know who you're dealing with !! lol One of my favourites for never ending excitement was the dishwashing thread - how do you do yours ? then enter the "tea towels are unhealthy" brigade lolol Oh yea..... Its all coming back to me!! And how can a dishwashing thread get so heated!!.... "You drip dry.... ???..... Bah" ...... "You use a tea towel....???... Death be upon you... Yep, that was a good 'un.

Hmmm... Really depends what you like. As previously said, The Grand Mosque is awesome. Then maybe Heritage Village and nearby Marina Mall. In this weather you could then walk down The Corniche, stopping at one of the beachside cafes/restaurants for lunch. Where are you stopping?? Tourist Club Area? If so, Captains Arms at Le Meridian has a lovely beer garden to refresh and replenish! HTH

New Dubai??. OK. Start at Westin (Senyar..To the left as you enter lobby) at 7pm. You will get 3 bubbly tokens per lady. Put those in back pocket! Proceed to bar and order vod and coke or wine at AED19. Stock up (happy hour finishes at 8pm). Then at 8pm (or whenever you run out of afore mentioned) proceed to small bar near outside doors, pool tokens and get a bottle of bubbly with 6 tokens. Enjoy. Then take taxi to Grand Habtoor... Go to horizon lounge and claim your 3 free bubblies (till 11pm, but make sure you get them before 10.45!). In the meantime, go to Bartini in the same place as Horizon and ASK for ladies tokens (ask at bar...They don't advertise it!). You will get 2 free cocktails each. Giggle in the lift, slip into taxi and job done....... edited by captainjacky on 09/02/2011 is this not just a tuesday night ??? As far as i know its just a Tuesday night.
