Byblos in tecom 6pm - 8pm, centro rotana al barsha 6pm - 9pm, holiday inn al barsha 6-9pm, ibis al barsha 6pm - 2am, golden tulip al barsha 6-8pm all have happy hours on thursday night. Byblos has ladies night from 10pm also- think its free bubbly wine?. Prices are all between 20dhs and 25dhs for all wine, beer, spirits. Mohito bar in holiday inn has buy one - get one free on their cocktails tomorrow night. Just called them all because we are going to go the happy hour ourselves. The media rotana and millenium dont have happy hours. Cant guarantee what these bars are like because I havent been to some of them. Another great place that I can recommend is the dubai marina yacht club. Thats buy one get one free and has a great atmosphere. Definitely ideal for ladies night. Enjoy your night. Yacht club is really good but unfortunately the happy hour is only from 6 til 7.30..... As i live next door though, its always a good place to start! ;) <em>edited by captainjacky on 09/02/2011</em>

Waxy's used to do ladies night on a Thursday - go there at your peril though. I used to be a Waxy's regular pre-DH and DS. At your peril indeed, but did I ever have some fun nights out there! Love it.... But wrong side of town! Should travel over there though. Great fun!

New Dubai??. OK. Start at Westin (Senyar..To the left as you enter lobby) at 7pm. You will get 3 bubbly tokens per lady. Put those in back pocket! Proceed to bar and order vod and coke or wine at AED19. Stock up (happy hour finishes at 8pm). Then at 8pm (or whenever you run out of afore mentioned) proceed to small bar near outside doors, pool tokens and get a bottle of bubbly with 6 tokens. Enjoy.Then take taxi to Grand Habtoor... Go to horizon lounge and claim your 3 free bubblies (till 11pm, but make sure you get them before 10.45!). In the meantime, go to Bartini in the same place as Horizon and ASK for ladies tokens (ask at bar...They don't advertise it!). You will get 2 free cocktails each. captainjacky...you can nail down your hatchetts if you like, but you may have more success if you batten down the hatches...? Just a thought x Nails, battens, hatchetts or hatches (!!lol)... I wouldn't bother.... Its not going to happen is It?! ;)

I go to Desire nr Yacht Club. Lovely massage chairs, do a great job and think its AED120 for mani/pedi. And the polish stays on much longer than when i've been to the "posher" places.

There is also Cascades, Marina Mansions, Yacht Bay, Marina Sail and Damac Waves. Horizon Tower has big 4bd apartments but no water in the pool for a good few months??. All the rest have pools, gyms etc. Al Majara is a collection of towers with nice facilities and some nice ground floor apartments that may be more child friendly.

Hiya In the marina you have Azure, Marina Reasidence, La Riviera that are all right next to a metro station (JLT station) and a small outdoor childrens park. Not sure about the other amenities in them but these may be a start for you. Also a supermarket, cafes and 10 mins walk to JBR beach. HTH to get you started in your search. Have a drive around the area around the Yacht Club. Many security guys have keys to empty apartments and you can check out the facilities at the same time.

Had one at Wild Wadi and thought it was great... Hubby made himself look ridiculous though, by giggling like a schoolgirl! Don't know of any salons that do it here....But someone else may do..?? Did you have to pay entrance to Wild Wadi then the fish pedi or can you just book for the pedi and go in for just that. My mum would love to have it done when she's over next (goodness knows why - I think it sounds like my worst nightmare!) and thought she'd like to go to WW for it but wondered if you had to pay for the park entrance too. If so, will check out the other place. Not 100% sure pilotprincess but think you have to be in Wild Wadi and can't just pay for the fish spa. We had gone there for the day. I actually liked it, and i must say I'm not a fan of anything or anybody touching my feet. A different experience but i would say one I would do again...Oh and my feet DID look and feel great afterwards. Hope your mum gets to try and enjoy. x

We had friends who lived in Oman for a while and they had the same problem with the wretched things.... They also left miniscule bits of cheese around and apparently they completly disappeared. Only really small crumb sized peices though.... Yeh I also have some friends in Doha who had an infestation of them. I was a bit suprised as i thought leaving cheese, however small, around would encourage ants... But they said that ants won't go near cheese. Weird, but it obviously worked for them.

Pergolas for brunch is great. Probably in my top 3... But its a kind of "make your own fun" as there isn't music. If you choose there, sit outside....Inside is a bit "quiet".. The Talk I have been to a few times and whilst the food is superb, the last time we went the service was ridiculously slow, and the ambiance was..well...Bland!
