My daughter brought the 2 series over for my Christmas pressie, and we watched them all while she was here. I am watching the chrimbo special on youtube- have watched half of it and am 'saving' the other half. Crazy, isn't it? Lol... I watched the first one last year... So had to watch the last episode to remind my poor old brain before i started on the second series!!! Can you get Crimbo special on normal you tube then without a v p ennn??

hello crystal, i hope ur point abt the parking is true in my cluster since we don't have a parking spot in our contract... let's hope for the best :) We have just moved to JLT. Don't have a designated parking slot like we did in Marina but can assure you there is no problem parking at all. Think BIG lessons were learnt over parking in The Marina....

Think there was a fire in JLT this morning.... Know it was foggy but dont think fog was resposible for the big billows of smoke coming out of a plant building at the back of O cluster... Thought i was in the middle of a movie set, as i saw that then made my way to The Marina where there were at least 20 vehicles and 100 or so people filming ....... So much more exciting than waking up in Nottingham...

Yep... After bragging that i'd not had a cold or a sniffle for 3 years... It hit me on Saturday. Just about feeling human again..Albeit with a cough like a miner and a snotty nose a two year old would be proud of... Sorry, just realized its teatime! x

Tales From A Midwife by Jennifer Worth. Seriously fascinating stuff. I loved that book. They have turned it into a series in the UK and i watched the 1st episode last week. Excellent watching but not as good as the book. Jennifer Worth sadly passed away last year Oh have they?? Would love to see it. Lets hope it comes out as a DVD at some point. Can't put the book down..Its amazing how people lived, only a relatively short time ago. Sad to hear of her passing :-( edited by captainjacky on 19/01/2012 There is one character in the book that i love. I dont want to say too much as i dont want to give it away but i guess you will feel the same once you have finished it. It is a Female and she is very elderly. My old next door neighbour was a Midwife in the 40/50/60 and i grew up wanting to be a nurse due to her stories. Shame the NHS in the 90's changed otherwise i may of followed that vocation Is it Sister Monica Joan?! I'm just reading the part about the workhouse...Scary stuff. And that lady who had 25 children.... Gulp!! It the old lady who lives in the slum and has a fascination with pregnant ladies. The toe nail part of the book :-) The workhouses sounded awful. Oh yes... I get you now...And apparently her toe nails are now an exhibit at some museum!! So many moving stories... They are certainly the generation that made Britain Great...

Barasti actually has a smallish but adequate function space raised up from the rest of the bar. Went to a wedding there a couple of years ago with a similar number of people and it was very nice... And you can/could smoke!! Have a great day.

me and DH have walked past many times, and as we like Greek food have wondered if it's nice grub but they advertise the screening of football matches, so we're also worried about scumbags being in there The food is nice...If not abit limited. And if you like football and enjoy watching a match, are you automatically classed as a "Scumbag"??? Get real.

Morning Planning a trip to Sri Lanka in November and would like to stay in a villa, ideally on the beach. Have done a search on here and that was very helpful, but all the places seem so far from Colombo airport and we would prefer something within about an hours drive? Any reccommendations for Negombo or anywhere similar? We are two couples, no little ones and would like to be on the beach but also within close proximity of bars/restaurants etc. One last question.... If we went down south to say, Hikkaduwa, is it worth getting the sea plane/water taxi as we are flying in with FlyDubai and not sure if they only connect with Sri Lanken Airways?? Would really appreciate any advice or heads up you can give me. Thankyou. CJ

Grrr.... Can't believe that the Ma'am was so nonchalent about it. Sometimes wonder whether some people are actually thick or have just adopted a "Don't give a **** attitude". The cut was VERY deep, right down to the bone. Hope you feel better today..... And yes, you were a very brave little soldier!! x

mmm, ok. He's a little on the plump side. Shaved head (steady) and one pic is of him behind the wheel of his car (no badge to show what car it is) then another pic of him all bundled up in the snow. I'm sure he'd love to toss you up and down on his high seas * Mops brow as this is looking promising* Can you give me time to mull it over... Would be nautical to jump in feet first.

LOL... Was slightly confused (But that is a normal state of mind for me..)... Until i found Redlesleys thread!!! Now i'm intrigued and I must admit, slightly excited! James M Mathews sounds just the job. Would need to know more though before I venture into the open seas with him... Like, how pristine is his equipment, and how big are his propellors... Any further info more than welcome.. TIA CJ. You're not for him CJ, you don't blow up! Don't you believe it!!! Ever heard of the Dubai 3 stone....

Morning. We have a Manstad sofa bed from Ikea. Looks like a regular L-Shaped sofa but has a spring mattress and a storage compartment. Guests say its the comfiest bed they've slept in.... Think its around AED2500 but is really worth it. HTH I also had that! Same comments, I slept on it myself a few times - soooo comfy. It is isn't it.... Have also retired to it myself on occasions..... lol

Am not sure that any medical cover do direct billing for dental - i thought it was a claim back procedure. Not sure to be honest. Guess it depends whether you opted for the additional monthly payment for dentistry.. Even, all the insurance that i have had that have included dental cover; i have had to pay and then claim back. NOne have been direct billing, even the good insurance like Neruon. You're probably right. Was just suggesting a one stop shop to OP.

That's like 3 kg of whiskey - how do you accidently knock it over? Must have given it a good old whack to do that..... Yes exatly its a LOT of whiskey! It used to stand in a cradle type thing on the bar, she moved it to clean under and then must have knocked it or moved it too close to the edge - god knows!!!!!!! Does anyone know the actual cost, I tried calling MMI but noone there yet! and yes I need an hour in lieu for time wasted. My Dh is going to be soooo mad about this. edited by JShepherd on 25/08/2011 Off out soon but if you let me know what is was..Age, name etc I will try and find out cost value for you....
