It was direct through the hotel website (Starwood hotels). Also try Booking dot com as they have flash deals for hotels in AD. HTH.

Just stopped at Le Meridien for AED 240 per room per night. The "seaview" is not actually a seaview but..... Nice hotel, good staff... And if you take the room service breakfast at AED110 then just get one between you....loads!!

Our local pubs are every bit as busy and you can eat food without the stench of fag smoke billowing in your face. Agree that some pubs have suffered but in many it's still standing room only when we pop in for a pre dinner or theatre drink. Smokers in many have covered areas elsewhere in my neck of the woods. As I said previously our local has become more of a wine bar serving local ales with food and is jumping most nights of the week with the weekly quiz night drawing people of all ages. We used to hate going into pubs because of the smoke but these days we are frequent visitors which we enjoy visiting with friends. Theatres do serve vino.... You could drink there before the performance. Not trying to aggitate you...But pubs/bars are for everyone..... My last trip back to Uk .. Said places were so cold and clinical..Without the "essential" bar dwellers...

Wasn't trying to "big up smoking" but just suggested that an happy compromise could have been saught. And i do know that in my home town pubs are/were being shut down weekly... Could give links but think its common knowledge.

You could try looking at Marina Sail... Know you want to know buildings NOT to go for... But yep...Tis an older one but if you get one facing the marina... All good. And no probs with maintenence... Across the road from big supermarket... Metro 5 min walk.... adequate pool and spacious apartments. Thanks captainjacky - we looked in there a couple of years ago and liked it but ended up going for another one - I went in the other day and the security guard told me it was full, I found a couple of adverts but then the agents said they were no longer available! So I will keep an eye out for further adverts - thanks for the recommendation :) Not 100% sure... But don't think its full... Will ask the building manager tomorrow and update you... Post me your email if you like.. If not no probs i'll reply on here... CJ. x

Do understand what you're saying girls... BUT... UK introduced no smoking in ANY bars and so many have closed down! The anti smoking brigade pushed for it... Fair enough... But they are not using them now they are smoke free... Pubs in UK are shutting by the day and people who wanted an indoor smoking room are just buying drink and staying at home... Cheaper but they lack the social scene...And folk who wanted totally smoke free bars are ...Erm... Still staying at home and buying cheaper drink!! The answer would have been to have bars that serve alcohol but no food with a smoking room...And pubs that serve food no smoking...And thats from my hubby who is so anti smoking you wouldn't believe....

Morning Have been to Longs Bar brunch and the food is nice...Not a massive selection but they do p*rk... If you are non smokers you may also find it a bit smokey. One the whole though, I like it. Infact, was thinking of going myself on Friday...

Stayed last weekend for the first time and loved it! Rooms are lovely... Very arabic. We got a fab deal through Booking dot com. Went to Al Haderah(sp) and whilst it was a lovely night, it was a bit too warm. Should probably have gone to an indoor restaurant.... The pool is fab and staff were charming. Enjoy.

WARNING! theres been a fight in the biscuit tin. a lad called rocky hit a penguin over the head with a club tied him to a wagon wheel with a blue ribbon and made his breakaway in a taxi. police say rocky was last seen after eight in maryland with a ginger nut as a accomplice only known as Rich T. they didnt leave a crumb of evidence so the jammie dodger may get away with it!

Have you looked in Lifestyle near Carrefour in MOE? There is a variety of branded outlets in there... You can often pick up some good quality stuff fairly cheap.... HTH ETA... Also try Woolworths. They tend to do more classic casual styles. edited by captainjacky on 14/07/2011

All the shops that you have mentioned, IMO, are what i would call "one wear" shops - ie, clothes are cheap, bad quality and don't really last more than a couple of washes. If you want something that last longer and is of better quality try looking at shops suck as Reiss, Hobbs etc Yea... Like we can all afford to go to Reiss, Hobbs etc for a "casual daytime Tshirt"...lol

Captain Jacky always recommends them, try a search you might get more info. Sure do Dally! Lots of leg room, great service, direct into Heathrow. Would thoroughly reccommend them. And the price is usually a lot lower. Have never tried BYO but generally manage to squeeze in a few at The Irish Village prior to flight...So all good!! *Winksmilie*..

Ok. Went yesterday..(twice, but thats another story!). It's great. Lots of seating, a sports bit with darts and a pool table and lots of attentive staff. Hasn't really been advertised as open yet, so I was surprised it was so busy last night. There are a few finishing touches to be done but i guess they're having a "slow opening". Food was good....Try the crab and prawn fishcakes..Yum! And did I mention its just outside my front door!!!lol. Really quite excited!

Have to agree with fairytale. Your skin will change as your climate etc has changed. Wouldn't go down the antiseptic route though. I found just changing to a regular Nivea mousturiser did the trick. Its a simple case of finding what suits..... Now if i put on stuff i used previously at home the same occurs!! Welcome anyway Bergan.. x

The Millenium is super... Great location, very central but when relaxing at the hotel you wouldn't know you were adjoined to the Jungceylon Mall. And if you have a bit of cash to splash..Look at taking one of the poolside rooms....Lovely private patio, jacuzzi and direct access into the pool...Heaven! Oh...If you are googling it, there are two Milleniums close together...Look at Lakeside!

Hmmm... Remember seeing a programme about nuts/crisps placed on the bar as freebies..... You sure as h$ll wouldn't want to eat them after seeing that.... Think men/toilets/hands....Urgh! But as an aside, Trader Vics JBR does give you (your own!)bowl of proper chips...And very nice they are too...
