I cant wait to leave the marina. The noise of the Ferrari's going up down up down up down for no reason. (which i can hear as im writing this) the lack of parking for my visitors and the way shops feel its ok to block off public parking for their customers only. The marina has become dirty and run down and because the prices have dropped, any old tom, d*ck or harry can live 10 to an apartment. More and more low quality restaurants and shops opening which really do not cater for 'Marina' style living really had enough of this dump now. In fact the whole of Dubai is going down the pan compared to when I was first here 27 years ago. Yikes... Everyone to their own i suppose... But I love living in the Marina and certainly don't find it "dirty and run down"!?! Its super convenient for everything, has shops,metro, access to taxis etc...

Hmmm... I feel your pain. Just returned from our first visit back for 18 months.... And we counted 10 packs/unpacks/house moves in 2 weeks! And this time we even rented a place in Center Parcs for 5 days. We had "his" family out for the first half and "mine" for the second, which worked quite well, as it felt like we had a proper base.... Nevertheless, all the travelling backwards and forwards trying to spend equal time with everyone can prove stressful and doesn't really feel like much of a holiday....

Must admit that my baby is now nearly 22.... But if my memory serves me right, I think at 8 weeks I was just glad of half an hours shut eye whilst she was sleeping and a soft toy/playmat to keep her entertained!

8 weeks old???! er... talk to them, sing, dance around the lounge, lay them on a play mat and let them look in a mirror at themselves, show them plants and flowers on your balcony/patio (through the window in this heat) goodness.. surely you don't need to take an 8 week old to a class for entertainment? god help you when they're 3 years old then!! what'll be left? Must agree Pentel!! If OP is feeling lonely then by all means research a group that would suit...But to be looking for "activities" for an 8 week old........

I always used a travel cot. Net meshing so nice and soft. Can see through it too. Total godsend. Have reccommended them to friends with small children and now they can't live without them either.....

And on a final note.... If you've had a bad day, wearing jim jams and slippers when he gets in is all part and parcel.... Take a look at the kids sleeping after a fun day and both of you should not even notice what the other is wearing.... And if he gives you "that" look you can always say you think you're coming down with the same bug the kids have had and limp of to your boudoir....

chickychic... Honestly we do all know how you feel. But, you know, parenting is a two way thing. Bet he's changed since you were both in the first throes of love too? Try and keep a sense of humour, laugh together, take the mickey out of the kids(in private!) if you have to... But be united. Its hard work and will be rewarded with you still at odds over boyfriends/jobs etc(Thats the kids not you!) in years to come!!!. Do feel for you. Beachcombers is nice and has lovely views of Burj Al Arab... Although its getting a bit warm to sit outside. My favourite is Go West. Food and staff are lovely, fun atmosphere...And the kids love sitting in the "Wagons".. Both in Entertainer. I've never even heard of Go West...is it also suitable for a bunch of grown ups without any children? Yea I would say so. Been a couple of times on a Thursday night and they have a duo on singing cover songs. Really nice atmosphere....And I haven't got little ones (here!!).

Used Falcon since we first located to Ad. When i spoke to the chap and said we no longer needed it he asked where we were going. Gave him the location and expected nothing! But on arrival at our new apartment there was a water bottle and a note saying "Welcome to Dubai".... May have been stressed/Hormonal/dissoriontated,but it made my day..... What you doing posting sensible messages at this time on a thursday night/Friday morning...... Aren't you usually propping up a bar???? Your reputation is at stake! Hee Hee... My hubby "made" me go for a meal and "a"drink.... WTF.... Will make up for it at brunch at The Yacht Club tomorrow!!! And have a cheeky vod as we speak... But i appreciate your concern... Do you know me??????lol

I think it's a beautiful idea to put a picture of your Mum and you on FB for Mother's Day to honour her, really lovely, and I suspect only your BIL thinks other wise, stuff him and do it anyway (and while you're at it, delete him from your contacts, that way he won't see it anway, none of his flipping business)! I feel so sad for you... It's very difficult when rotten things happen back home. If you really can't get back then I'm sure she'll understand.... But just be there on phone/M S N/ S K Y P E etc. She will know you are thinking of her.... And I guess its all sinking in, but breast cancer is the devil in our family..... And all have lived to tell the tale and celebrate at the parties. I really feel for you... It's hard. Hate the saying "Big Hugs" But sending you one right now. xx ETA....
