I think he will manage, just give it sometime and get him to listen to a lot of audios on youtube if needed. I went thru this myself when i was 18. I was in a French school with only little English, then went straight to a pure English University. It was a bit difficult at first but i managed after a while. English is a very easy language to pick up and very simple compared to French. He might struggle a bit in literacy until he picks up enough vocabulary but Maths and Science will be an easy transition.

Unfortunately I don't have the receipt with me.. I took it back to Threads but they refused to exchange it or do anything about it..they simply said to buy another shirt hmmm I tried giving it to the dry cleaners too but nothing changed it looks the same That is too bad!! I would still speak to their management and let them know. Anyway, if you buy another shirt, there are color catch sheets that they sell at supermarkets. You can use them when you are washing the shirts in the future to avoid the color spread.

Do you still have the receipt? I would take it back to the store and ask for an exchange and clear washing instructions (assuming it is not already written on the item).

I am like you in a way :) Have to admit i went to several mid managerial level interviews in the past wearing a dark pair of skinny jeans, a shirt and a blazer and got accepted… But you are saying that this is for a senior role, if i were you, i'd play it safe and wear a suit. Check Zara, i always find their formal wear classy with a funky twist. You can wear ballerina shoes instead of heels… Best of luck

Coming from Egypt and all, I need a big sprawling souq where I can get a GPS battery replaced and lots of options for fabric. Is that what Satwa is? Give me all of your Satwa advice :D - how you get there (public transport or taxi or drive? is it walking distance to Financial Centre Metro Station 2 or would I take a taxi from there -- and where to?), where things are located (are shops arranged by type like fabric souq/phone souq/etc and are they all relatively close to each other?), what days & times are shops open, anything else? If I weren't going with 3 kids I would be more adventurous and just start heading in that general direction, but I want this to be as easy as possible :p I am going to Satwa in a bit and live right next to financial center metro station as well. If you are on the Dusit Thani side, you have to cross to the other side of SZR otherwise, just look for the bus stop near the metro station on the Shangri la side of the road. Take bus F11 to Satwa and back (runs every 15 mins)

Just did this a couple of weeks ago at wellcare with Dr. Fouad Al Saraj. The pain is bearable, and you are supposed to stand still and not swallow when the needle is in. Good Luck. Hope it turns out fine.

I want to go to Legoland on my Honeymoon! Have you considered that, it is in San Diego?! I am spending 2 days in San Diego before the 10th, and was wondering what to do there apart from enjoying the beach and the water sports. Thanks for mentioning Legoland, will put it on the plan :)

Nurofen is more effective for fevers above 38.5. Adol is more for lower fevers, or to control fever in between. Also add some white vinegar to the cool water before you wet the towels.

We are looking to employ a filipino maid in September. She use to work in Dubai for 1yr and was sent back home recently, so we know her very well. My kids love her, she knows my likes and dislikes so we don't mind spending the money to bring her back. She is married and had a child back home but her relationship with her husband is not so good. While she was working her she got close to a pakistani man and has formed a relationship. I personally think its a dead end relationship because the guy has a very strict pakistani upbringing (promised to a girl back home, parents want him there now to get married). I cnt see this relationship being anything but a bit of fun. What i am worried about is how this might affect her work, while she was here previously she was always on her phone during work hours chit chatting away, i wouldn't mind her doing this if all the work was done, but never while i leave her in the care of my children. I'm also worried about if she gets herself pregnant, or if she thinks she can bring this man over when we are not around....i have told her already that if she does get pregnant theres nothing we can do to help you, just as a warning that its not an option. I don't trust the instinct in men either as she fought for the man she is currently married too, she hasn't spoken to her parents for years because they never accepted him and despite going through all that shes now chit chatting away to this new guy rather than fighting for her husband. How do you address these issues, am i being harsh expecting her not to have a relationship? Apparently its the filipino culture, so do i have to bite my tounge and let it be? Any advuce would be appreciated Thanks Why would you get yourself into all this? Can't you just find someone else and just state your rules from the beginning?

I don't think there is a law, it is based on mutual agreement. We give ours 1 day off, Thursday night and she comes back on Friday night. She sleeps at her sister's accommodation (At least that's what she tells us), and we are fine with it. But if you have a problem with her sleeping out, just let her know, it is really up to you as you are sponsoring her.

If it's Dubai Al Ain road, then Downtown/ trade center 1 & 2 are the areas you should consider as they give easy access to Al Khail Road and directly to Dubai Al Ain. There is an IBIS hotel in trade center which is quite cheap i think. Also Warwick has reasonable rates...

With my first child never had anything like this. With baby no2 I am experiencing this (lactostasis I guess). I don't produce too much milk - this is the most interesting part. But today I woke up with this hard as stone one side of my left breast. And my LO is not helping me as she doesn't like when no milk comes out, she just pushes me away. So where I can search help: is it lactation specialist? or mammologist (do they exist in Dubai?) Today is Friday and I wouldn't like to delay this too much before it's too late. Please advise who can I go to? Any recommendations please? I don't think you can find any drs. today. I would say go to City Hospital's emergency and they will call the right dr. on duty for you

Have you asked the school why? Maybe they can sit down with you and explain. Of course i did! They have a new teacher this term, so i asked her how come they are repeating the same thing, she lied and said she didn't know they've done it before. All the kids said that before handing them the papers she told them i know you've done it before but that was 3 months back and you forgot.

They can figure that out from a different assessment aligned at the same level. It makes no sense at all to make a kid sit down and repeat a comprehension for instance that they've done a couple of months back. They remember the text, questions and answers. I honestly have never seen a school doing this in my whole life, that's why i wanted to check with you ladies, if this is common practice here before i report them.

I have the Galaxy S5 and happy with it. It is only against splashes, you cannot drain it. They might have an underwater case for it though (not too sure). Personally, i find it more user friendly than IPhone.

I'm sorry, but breast milk is the only way- and medicating a baby? My god I hate your doctor and I don't even know him You know MF, you can be a complete and utter moron on your own stupid thread but don’t you dare come on a thread with a new mum who has genuine concerns and spout your moronic diatribe. Keep your opinions to your own pitiful thread. Oh my gosh, no offense intended, as a mother of 4 I was just passing along what i've learned Natural mothers milk has special enzymes and nutrients that you can't get any where else...enzymes that a baby needs to develop properly..There is a growing belief in the medical community that breat milk or lack thereof is responsible for a host of other life long ailments- she should still be able to lactate 4 months in- I strongly suggest she try Well, every rule has exceptions. Just find something else to do please.

Sorry you are going through this, it is so painful i am sure. DD 1 was suffering from acid reflux and was vomiting after each feed till she turned 1. Around 3 or 4 mths she started getting eczema as well and the doctor had to put her on some special formula (can't really remember the name as she is 7 now). To help with the reflux, he also advised to add some baby rice or cerelac to the bottle to make the milk thicker (you would need to make a small cut on the tip of the bottle if you are going to try this though else the formula won't get out). I was giving a small amount of gaviscone and some colic drops15 mins before each feed ( it was ok to give the gaviscone at the time cause nothing else was working) Hope it helps, good luck!

Stay away from Star Mirdiff. Teachers keep changing at a scaring rate, and most of the parents are searching for other schools currently. I've heard good things about Deira and Royal. The latter is a bit strict academically but from what i heard is very good.

[i'>"They kept asking if I had insurance and then they burnt the bill" [/i'> They cannot "burn" the bill as all the medical insurance companies only pay according to a fixed fee which is being dictated by the health authority. It is true that they have to stick to the rates. BUT, they can still charge for extra services that wouldn't have been there in the first place, leading to an inflated bill.

Today I paid 1698 AED for my son's three stitches on forehead !!! They kept asking if I had insurance and then they burnt the bill !! Anyone knows where I can complain ? Thanks Unfortunately this bad practice happens a lot. Once they know you have insurance they would try and get as much money as they can, and that is why i stopped going to there. DD had a bad flu once we went and saw a dr there, we paid 500 AED for the visit, or rather insurance did. Exactly 2 days later, her temperature went up again. Called them to book another appointment with the dr for the same thing, but the dr. was away so they had to book her with another. I specifically told them over the phone that this is a follow up, as i've been less than 3 days ago, hence no payment, which they confirmed. But when i went and finished they made me pay for another visit, of course i made a big deal and told them to check their phone recordings and all, but still they didn't wave it off and had to pay another 500 AED. Btw I also complained to the management there and nothing happened edited by Carambar on 14/01/2015 You should not have paid based on the date of the bill! And even though Insurance pays it is not ethical at all ...it is privately owned we get it but they are more like doing heartless business ! I know i shouldn't have paid, but they said ok we will tell the Dr. that you didn't want to pay for his visit… etc. They were very unprofessional and i didn't want to make a big scene, that was at Medclinic Dubai Mall. So thought i'd pay then complain, which was useless unfortunately.
