No way. In the Ranches, children under 14 aren't allowed unsupervised in the community pools.

It doesn't :( However, it should get better at 12 noon when preK and KG1 finish once kid care starts as a lot of kids will be enrolled in that and going home at 2.45 then. edited by carymama on 04/09/2012

My knowledge of schools in Dubai is limited to the American system, where Pre-K is ages 3-4. My kids never went to Nursery but instead started in Pre-K. A lot of kids in my DD's KG1 class (ages 4-5) never went to Nursery or Pre-K either. You will find that a lot of schools in Dubai have wait lists for the early years, so it would be best for you to register your child as soon as you decide which schools/nurseries you are interested in.

I bought them from Zaks uniform store (where they sell uniforms for many schools). They are iron on labels which they personalize for you on the spot. Have been using them for a couple of years now.

I was told by the pediatrician that if my kids are eating a well-balanced diet then I don't need to give them multivitamins. However prior to this I was giving them the chewy gummy bear ones - can't remember the name!

I know you said you didn't want to have it at home, but your post got me thinking about planning for my sons 5th birthday so I started looking online and came across this link.... http://splashnbounce.com/index.html If you have a yard you could rent one of these bounce houses, or if you have a pool or a comunity pool you can rent their pool party stuff. Do you know what the weather will be like begining of Feb??? I know it is a ways off, but that is when my sons birthday is and I would love to have him a pirate pool party at our comunity pool :) Good luck with your planning. The weather in early Feb is always lovely. Perfect for an outdoor party!

My kids are at DAA and we have been very happy so far. After school activities start from KG2 but the kid care program starts from Pre-K. There are a couple of nurseries in Barsha, close to DAA. One is Seashells I think (just minutes away) and I also heard that The Children's Garden will be opening a branch in Barsha soon. Do you know how much the Kid Care program is? I think it's AED 5000 per semester (so an additional 10K a year)

I can't offer any feedback on the assessments but RIS is located close to several residential communities- The Lakes, Springs, Meadows as well as the Greens (apartments) would all be convenient choices.

The kids are mostly 8 years old. I did ask DS first and he is ok with it (probably because I said there would still be sweets in the bags). I think it's a great idea and 8 year olds should be old enough to understand about charitable gifts.

mumto2, posted at same time! Yes the amount in the bottle doesn't mater, it's the total size. Can we take more than one bottle of medicine? 100 ml bottles.. Yes, as long as the total amount of liquids carried is not more than 1000ml. (In hand luggage, take what you like in checked bags). great - thanks!

If she likes watching TV, then take a portable DVD player/iPad. That should keep her busy for a couple of hours at least. I always traveled with one when my kids were toddlers.
