Thank you for your replies, ladies..
I'm very unsure about having baby in Dubai mainly because I dont quite understand the laws there about maternity care. I'm guessing Al Wasl would be out of the question this late in my pregnancy, right? Even found an article on Gulfnews saying that you have to pay double the usual fees if you are not registered with them from the beginning (am not on any insurance).
I will be looking at the various hospitals, like how Sally suggested American Hospital. City Hospital also seems to be a good experience for many women on this forum. But is it true that emergency cases are referred to Wasl? And that in some cases they even refuse unregistered patients?
I am 30 weeks pregnant and have come to my home country for my pregnancy and delivery. However, something has come up and I may have to return to Dubai. This is far from an ideal scenario, and I guess if I have to absolutely remain here, then I probably should, esp since I am in my 3rd trimester.
But has anyone here had their antenatal care abroad but then come to Dubai to deliver? or know of anyone who has?
:((( am really worried....
