Keep in mind what works for others might not work for you. Its all trial and error,so dont go out buying in bulk just yet. On that note I will add products that worked for me. *JASON normalizing tea tree shampoo+conditioner.(organic shampoo and conditioner,so no SLS) *Bioderma Node DS+ Anti Pelliculaire (very moisturizing to hair) *Polytar Liquid (smells disgusting but works great) Yeah, that's the thing. The reason I created the thread is because stuff like Head & Shoulders and Clear just doesn't work for me. I'm a little apprehensive about Lush because it's a shampoo bar as opposed to liquid shampoo and I've never used that. I have heard of Polytar but apparently it's quite strong. Have heard good things about Neutrogena. I hope something helps with the dandruff and itchiness!

amkcbrandon, I bought the Lush shampoo bar today. Planning to try it tomorrow. Does anyone know where I could also get the Neutrogena T-Gel? Can you get it at Boots by any chance?

Well, from what I heard... It's usually someone going around begging or even trying to rob people. I once looked through the peep-hole and it was a lady dressed in an abaya (though I couldn't tell the ethnicity). Basically they try the handle in hopes that the door might be left unlocked in which case I'm assuming they'd be happy to come in and rob you. Quite scary really. My mom's friend got robbed this way actually and she happened to be in the next room. She said she started to sense something was off because her cat started acting really strange but when she got to the hallway the intruder had ran off leaving the front door open. Btw. this happened in Qusais. edited by Cheezu on 31/08/2012

This has actually happened to me several times and I live in an apartment and I have heard of it happening to others. It's usually like this - someone rings the bell and then if you don't open they immediately go for the door handle. Though in my case it's only lasted a few minutes and the person would leave. I have heard that some people go from house to house begging.

Thank you, Apricot. And amkcbrandon, you've been very helpful! I will be going to Dubai Mall this Saturday so will pay them a visit. =)

The Lush shampoo is called "Soak & Float" -- they also have a treatment (Snake Oil Scalp Treatment Bar). I haven't used it, but my brother's girlfriend has insanely sensitive skin and a milli allergies and swears by both. I bought them for her one Christmas and now she orders them in bulk! I use just about every other thing Lush makes, though, and I'm in love with them all -- so I'd definitely recommend them! Thank you so much, amkcbrandon! Any idea where I could get them - pharmacy or do I need to order online?

Thanks for the replies, everyone! I hope I can find something. Any idea if there is lotion I could massage into the scalp and just leave it in? I'm a little afraid to use oil as I heard it can clog up your pores and cause more hair fall plus my hair is on the oily side.

Is there any good shampoo out there though? Or a leave-in lotion which could help... I usually just take quick showers in the mornings and I'm out.

Try rinsing your scalp with Apple Cider Vinegar after shampooing your hair. Leave it on for 10 minutes and then wash it off. The smell will go away after your hair dries. Thanks! Any idea where I could get that? Or do I need to mix vinegar and apple cider?

Check out lightinthebox.com. There's a lot of choice and you basically send in your measurements to them. I don't think they make custom designs though. All the dresses are made in China. I had my rehearsal dress from there and it was great. Keep in mind that you need to order at least a month in advance.

OK folks. After a very stressful day here are some definitive answers: 1. British Marriage cert CAN be attested at British Embassy in Dubai BEFORE 11am BUT takes 5 days. Hi Feefmick, Just to clarify, do you need to get any special appointment with them before you come in?

Feefmick... I posted a similar thread regarding UK marriage certificate attestation. Apparently it can be done through the UK embassy here and not necessarily in the country of origin... thank goodness! See more here - http://www.expatwoman.com/forum/messages.aspx?TopicID=187482

No need need to get it translated. New rules for residence permits for spouses/dependants require that the tenancy contract has to be attested from Ejari...... Our real estate agents are in the process of doing this for us ;) Thank you so much! This makes life so much easier. When we go to the embassy though do we need to bring in anything else like our passports, etc., or just the marriage certificate?

Once it's been attested , that's all that is required for your marriage certificate , but.... you now also require your tenancy contract & title deeds attested by Ejari, then you can get paper work completed for your residence permit application then you can make an appointment for your medical and emirates I'd card ;) edited by aberdeenquine on 26/08/2012 So basically after it gets attested I won't need to get it translated into Arabic or anything like that so it's recognized here? The tenancy contract is under my husband's name actually. Will this change after the marriage is recognized in the UAE?

Thank you so much KB100 and Aberdeenquine. After you got it attested at the embassy what did you have to do next? Hand it to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs here in the UAE? Or does it still need to be sent to the UAE embassy in London? edited by Cheezu on 26/08/2012

Also, thanks to all the others who have replied. I wonder if the information is outdated and that now you can't get such things done through the embassy. Also I heard that the embassy is now in Abu Dhabi. edited by Cheezu on 26/08/2012

Thank you, Snowy2012. I too thought that this is most likely how it will have to go. Do you think you could give me a link to that company? I don't mind paying extra just as long as we get it done and it's safe.

April Flower - i didn't go. had to reschedule it to next week. =( i am a little concerned because when i told him i have to reschedule he just told me that i can come in at "any time" which would suggest that he doesn't get many visits/perform many operations. or maybe he was just trying to be nice. what do you think? in any case, i'd really like to hear from someone who has had some experience with a good plastic surgeon here. from what i've read many still go abroad to get their surgery done. that also worries me.

hi everyone! i'm new to the forum. i am looking for a good rhinoplasty (nose job) surgeon in Dubai. i have read up on Dr. Ashok Govila and i have an appointment with him this Wednesday. i was wondering if anyone would have any information regarding the doctor based on your own (or friends') experiences. also, please do recommend any other doctors if you've had a nose job in Dubai. =) (note - i am specifically interested in someone who specializes in rhinoplasty and facial procedures).
