logically it would be posters with more stars, but does anyone really care, it's all quite farcical anyway. I'm now thumbing everyone, well nearly lol So you're on a mission to give everyone five stars? Then they will need to zero it out and start again to make it have any purpose :)

I never turned mine off, does not anyone else do this? Just bumped up the thermostat to a higher temp during the cooler months. edited by Redrec Tangle on 15/04/2014 Me too it never goes off, just up a bit.

this is why the thumbs should be like facebook (ie you can see who like / dislike it) Excellent idea! If they could change the system in future and let everyone know their likes would be visible, but not retroactively, I think it would add better value to the feature as well as do away with he need to explain that we have not red thumbed someone when we add a reply.

No offence, but this has to be one of the most infuriating OP's I've ever read !! lol Sorry if its a bit of a puzzle, I haven't revealed who did it because its against the rules to attack other members plus I don't think it wold be very nice to do so either, and I have not bumped up the old thread as that would validate all the newly added green thumbs! But anyway even if you cannot see who's doing this its interesting to know what some people do on here isn't it? (P.S. The red thumb on your post was not me!) :)

I'm amazed that anyone would think of doing this actually, but think its enough for whoever to know this kind of ploy is going to be pretty obvious whenever the 'newly thumbed' old threads come up in a search. And no doubt its going to pop up again when others search for the same info, so i would not want to be that poster! She has set herself a trap really rather than gained anything.

for some info about something I need, the search results brought up a thread from way back last year, looking through it for the info I wanted I noticed several thumbs up had been posted on multiple posts within that thread all for one particular user name. None of the other posts in that thread had any thumbs up or down as you would expect in a defunct thread. Why would green thumbs up be added to threads that pre-existed years before the thumb feature? Isn't this a bit strange? We can help you Di@DXB, what was the info you needed :) Thanks I found it :)

I have tried a couple of Chinese doctors here for lower back pain, one was located near the Safestway building on the SZR, not sure if its till there and don't recall the name as it was some time ago and more recently another one at DHTC. I was given a heat massage at the first place and dry cupping, which relived the pain temporarily after each session, and I had a Tuina massage at DHTC, which I have to say was completely ineffective for me. I left the place in the same pain if not worse than I had arrived in. The doctor spoke no English so it was not possible to communicate my history at all, that may have been a factor but they should have provided a translator. I would be the last person to discount alternative treatments but I found neither of these places able to resolve my chronic pain. <em>edited by Di@DXB on 15/04/2014</em>

Since I saw the "person letting their dog poo in Di@Dxb's garden" being thumbed up I've lost all interest in thumbs. The whole thing is ridiculous! Thanks TB, yes, strangely on the other hand most people have thumbed up to my question 'are people in Dubai nicer than in your home country'. Just wonder if they are the same ones who agree with letting a dog poop on my garden! Confusing :s And even weirder someone has thumbed down my post thanking admin for a lovely recipe!

This maybe a bit of a long shot but I was given a recommendation for someone in Jumeriah who makes headboards for the Sealy mattress store, I have since lost those contact details but perhaps you could call the Sealy store in Karama and ask for the headboard maker contacts. They should still have them as Sealy do not supply headboards with their beds. 04 357 4990 hth

We bought a sun protected life jacket age 3- 5 and it came with a sunhat in the same fabric. From Geant and I have seen them in some of the toy stores and sports shops too.

Agree there's no sense to the way the red thumbs are being applied. An appeal for prayers for critically injured attack victims was thumbed down along with a simple question about where to find a cake :S In any case the whole thumb thing has been mixed up, a thumb down actually means spare the person and a thumb up means finish them. There's a framing shop inside of the Safestway building on the SZR. Art House on the Wasl Road, possibly more expensive, and a shop in the mall next to Magrudys on the Beach road. I have used the one in Jumeirah and they were not over expensive that was some time ago, and I hope they are still there! <em>edited by Di@DXB on 10/04/2014</em>

Thanks Di. I've gone through the threads but can't find any info on the apartments, only the villas. Any info greatly appreciated. Also, can you access Al Furjan from the back i.e. From 311 or only from sheikh Zayed road side? Sorry I don't know if there is access in from the back, an extra access out was opened recently to help reduce rush hour traffic jams. Someone who lives there should be able to tell you. I have asked someone who recently looked at the apartments, they found them to be spacious and good value for money but did not consider living there as there due to the noise. In all the buildings they viewed it seemed to be normal for the occupants to sit with the front doors open watching their kids playing noisily in the corridors. Perhaps this is not the case in all the buildings, it would be best to check it out.

Try this link: http://lively.ae/en/gourmet-a-d-lites At the bottom, you'll see a link to the Gourmet and D-Lites menu. They use Maltitol and Fructose. Fructose is still sugar isnt' it? Yes, you're right, it's a simple fruit sugar, ok to a degree when taken in raw fruits as the contain little and its slow to absorb but not ok when used as a sweetener such as in high fructose corn syrup which is not healthy for anyone as well as diabetics..
