My favourite was being told why did I make a comment when I could just use the thumbs up or down........ ;) Absolutely, if all we did was use thumbs and not comment in writing posts would be nothing more than scoreboards!

Worth a try, I empathize completely, I fell down a flight of stairs recently and looked like a picasso! Failing that you could ask for extra seat cushion on board if its Emirates, not sure if the other airlines all have them, I did not realize they had these available and found it really made a difference to the seat comfort where there's a bit of injury of any kind. hth

Well I for one am not using the red thumbs, I feel its a bit too like cyber 'happy slapping' . Unnecessary when we can politely disagree if necessary in words in an honest and open way.

I actually would prefer they are removed, and certainly can't see any value in having a running total of red and green thumb points alongside our names. If someone gets lots of red thumbs on their username I don't think its very friendly. I feel all this categorization defeats the spirit of the board IMO.

i use C4, Wrose, choitrahms..... never had any issues. I never go to Giant and i only use clinique.... I've also never had "vintage" products here. Even after having done my groceries for 2 years at Geant I never had this problem. I've shopped there for 13 years ever since they opened, it as only become a real problem in the last few years though, in fact I've spoken to the manager on several occasions about their practice of returning abandoned fridge food items to the shelves after they have been left at check out until to go bad as well as the tampering of other products on the shelves and their habit of putting these items back on the shelves when they are returned to customer service. It seems I am "lucky" enough to encounter this on a regular basis.

Really sick of buying tampered products, its only a few dirhams product I threw in the bin, but now have to go out again for more toothpaste! ( I hear you. I learned the hard way about tampered products when I bought a pack of tampons only to discover that a quarter were missing! What the ...?! That's why I always take a pack from the back of the shelves and squeeze the box to make sure it's full. What is also worrisome is that I can't imagine some poor woman (or staff member) being that desperate that she has to steal from the box rather than just purchase the goods to sort herself out. What gets me is that back home, these boxes -- being 'sanitary products' -- would have a proper wide sticky seal on them so they couldn't be opened/touched, but out here, that doesn't seem to be the case. Annoying and ... unsettling as well. :( edited by LadyBee on 06/04/2014 Yes agree about the need for proper seals on products, tampering is rampant here. And watch out for lipsticks too, so many times I have bought lipsticks that appear sealed with a bit of sticky tape around the tube and found them used. It has happened three times in Boots and several times in Lifestyle and Beauty Bay too recently and there is no exchange on cosmetics. Now I only buy lipsticks with proper factory perforated seals. edited by Di@DXB on 06/04/2014 I have seen the assistants in the Lifestyle shop take the sticky tape off lipstick, let the customer try it and when the customer doesn't want it, put some sticky tape back on and return it to the shelf. Yuk, Yuk edited by Ladybirdsarethebest on 07/04/2014 They should be reported to Health Authorities, this could spread all kinds of diseases!

Where did you buy this tampered product? Ibn Battuta Mall Geant supermarket, I would have taken it back to them but knowing from past experience that they just put tampered products back on the shelves I binned it.

Di This is the reply I got We will do our best to keep everyone as informed as possible, and will use this page as often as possible to do so. If you are travelling through Dubai the quickest way for you to get information would be to speak to the airline you are travelling with. Thanks sarahlou, so it seems the airlines don't know yet either.

So the question is which airlines are moving to Al Maktoum Airport and which are staying at Dubai International. Hopefully there will be a list published somewhere before May 1st, we are flying out on May 2nd and cannot get any info even from the airline. I think the airport has a Twitter and FB page so will ask Good idea, let us know if you get any info please!

I used to quite some time ago after being recommended as good, however they managed to charge me credit card charges and currency exchange rates on a debit card purchase in UAE Dirhams! I never had a credit card with them at all, and it took weeks and multiple trips to HO to make them understand how that was wrong!

We went on opening day too, although it was lunchtime there but were told they were only serving high tea, I had high hopes and although it did have a range of the preserves but it has the feel of an exhibition rather than a store and the staff I found a little intimating they way they follow around at close quarters as if they are afraid you will touch the products. Did not find my favourite pate spread and I found the general vibe uninviting and very sterile. Had expected a much bigger and better store so disappointing overall.

It depends on the country he is going to. The consulate of the country he is immigrating to can direct you, either they can attest a sworn statement at the consulate or direct you to a lawyer recommended by the embassy.

Some parents do cheat. They cheat themselves and they cheat their children when they actively teach them to do everything they can to what they think is 'getting ahead'. They teach by example (doing it themselves) or by turning a blind eye when they witness their child displaying less than stellar behavior. It makes me wonder if I should talk more to my child about what to do when getting pushed out of a line than about waiting in one. But what to do? edited by Redrec Tangle on 31/03/2014 Absolutely agree ( and I have used the 'like' button too!) as you say many parents even see cheating as something to be praised rather than a bad trait. I was queuing for petrol yesterday in a very long line and a lady drove in on the exit side of the pumps in the adjacent queue to me, reversed to the pump in front of everyone waiting , stuck her hand out of the window and snapped her fingers at the attendant and he served her! You can only teach your child to have good manners and to politely stand his ground when someone pushes in front of him.

Me: Its **** and I made the call at 9am this morning, your automated phone system confirmed it would be collected before 6pm but its now 7pm and no one has come to pick it up. Him: We don't collect after 6pm. Me: Yes I know but I booked it early today so it should have been picked up before 6pm. Him: There is no booking reference of that number for collection. Me: How's that, your automated system generated that reference at 9am today. Him: We have no reference of a call from you, your mobile is 050 *******? (I am calling from my landline so wonder how he knows that) Me: Yes that's my number. Him: Sorry I cannot help you now. Me: Ok can you rebook it for collection tomorrow please, Him: Yes, give me your number. Me: Its the mobile number you just gave me a minute ago! Him: OK it's booked for collection tomorrow. Me: Thank you. Doorbell rings....its the courier, I ask him when did you get this pickup request? Him: This morning! Next day he turns up again to collect the same package.

Di@DXB do you know which one would have the best selection of things or the biggest store? OF&C are the biggest so maybe start there, they do have some of their product range listed online so you could check before going, although its not at all comprehensive. Calling them never gets me anywhere but you should be able to call and ask at Ripe or Be Super Natural and they usually have someone who can answer a question effectively.

Hi, Soy candles are a great idea with earth day approaching! You are perfectly safe selling at the markets and craft fairs as the vendors are covered by the main licence of the event organisation, there's lots of regular markets around town run by ARTE, Ripe and Wafi besides the occasional flea markets and school fairs. For selling off the internet if you host your products on a site such as Little Majlis, Momsouq, Souq or any of e-market site online you are also covered by their license. hth Do on line stores like the one you mentioned really work ? I mean can you really make a good selling through such websites ? Like any thing you want to sell anywhere on or offline all depends on your product, marketing, competition and demand. I know of some ladies who have really made it work well and others who have had little results. But since it costs next to nothing to give it a try, worthwhile looking into even as an additional means of getting your products into the marketplace.

Olive oil is comdogenic and so is grapeseed oil, so could potentially block pores and cause breakouts. I would recommend Argan oil and raw organic Shea butter, both are completely non comedogenic and Shea butter is highly anti inflammatory as well as healing.

I spend 16 hours in A&E last week, my only expectation on the basis of what i had heard about the place was adequate medical attention in an emergency but sadly did not receive timely or proper attention. I got there at 6am with a very sick diabetic child. who had gone into ketosis from vomiting and diarrhea. After waiting 3 hours in triage where he received no treatment at all he was sent to A&E where they also did not treat him appropriately, his blood sugar was dangerously high and they denied him insulin completely and he went into acidosis which is life threatening, the cardinal rule of diabetes is you never stop insulin even when the patient is unable to keep down food, they did exactly the opposite, I pleaded and battled for 16 hours there to get him the treatment he needed and ended up having to discharge him. The place was an absolute chaotic nightmare of doctors and nurses who failed to communicate to incoming shifts over this period of time resulting in a new doctor coming in every so often asking what the problem was, each one just decided to leave him as was without being admitted. It was a vicious circle of failure going nowhere after 16 hours there with his condition worsening, finally I was told they had no beds to admit him and there was nothing else they could do but leave him in A&E. I removed him from the place at midnight to a private hospital where thankfully he was properly treated and is on the mend. We nearly lost our child, would never go there again.

I was put off the other store when I returned a banana loaf purchased from their bakery which was badly tainted with some sort of chemical taste and smell. The whole 'product return' experience was very poorly handled by a floor manager, therefore I would prefer to switch to an organic store who values my regular custom. I'm concerned to hear you also bought a chemically contaminated loaf, I bought a gluten free loaf a couple of months ago that tasted heavily of some kind of chemical, so it was not a one off in either case. Seems their flour and ingredients are contaminated and this is realty disturbing especially given their "organic" position.
