Really DM, where? Iran, for one. And it's a huge debate, even in Australia, about whether it should be prescription only there as well. And are they also proposing punishments for women who chose not to in those countries?

True, but the UK was 12% behind the US and 23% behind South Africa. Yes, that makes homes in India 2% cleaner, the US 34% cleaner and South Africa 45% cleaner than homes in the UAE.

No doubt BF is best but the first thing that springs to mind is how on earth are they going to enforce such a law? Aside from the issue of it being more properly a personal decision they would have to take into consideration mothers who could not BF for medical reasons. Would all new mothers have to be state monitored? And what kind of "punishment" would they meet out to a women who simply chose not to BF..a fine would cause hardship, a flogging would be injurious to mother's health and removal of parental rights a breakdown to the fabric of society. Cannot see how this is ever going to be sanctioned.

What kind of service or product will you be selling. What is your budget for forming the company? Based on that i can advise which free zone you could use. You can use these formation companies such as creative zone etc but they charge up to 10k more for practically nothing. If you go direct to the free zone you get the same service. I used Creative City freezone in Fujairah to form my company Decluttr Me. They have a branch office in Dubai near Lulu Barsha which is convenient for handing over paperwork and collecting when required. They are very helpful too. I can work outside the freezone with this trade licence which is not possible with Tecom and Jebel Ali free zone. Hope that helps. I am looking into this option for an incoming UK family. Can you tell me if your visa medical tests were done in Dubai? And if so did they make you do an xray? They would rather avoid unnecessary radiation but I see on the Creative City info they say the tests are done at Al Baraha hospital and the procedure seems to include an automatic xray. Much appreciate your guidance. ETA where is the Creative City office in Dubai, cannot find it on Google! <em>edited by Di@DXB on 20/01/2014</em>

But I see you say you are still paying for the car, so it sounds like the car is still owned by the bank or finance company, in that case you do not own it so you cannot sell it until you clear the debt in full and get the clearance letter from the bank. That's NOT true at all! You can find a buyer, who then goes with you to the bank and pays the amount to the bank to clear the loan. SOme banks will do the clearance letter on the spot, then enabling the transfer of sale, others just take a couple of days. But you certainly don't have to pay the loan off first. Well I was only speaking from experience with our car loan and it had to be done that way and the clearance letter took a week so it was not possible to sell it until then, perhaps it differs between bank to bank, but I did not say you are not allowed to find a buyer and then of course you can pay off the loan or have the buyer pay it if your bank will process it quicker for you! Don't see the need to shout in CAPS!

You will most likely have difficulty getting someone to carry a package for a complete stranger off the internet, I would not take anything from someone I do not know at all and carry it on a flight or anywhere else, as Sakhifa said easier to open S&S account and bring things in that way, its easy, quick and cost effective <em>edited by Di@DXB on 15/01/2014</em>

If the car is owned by your husband he just needs to make a POA as A.Rancher said, its easy I have done this for family members. But I see you say you are still paying for the car, so it sounds like the car is still owned by the bank or finance company, in that case you do not own it so you cannot sell it until you clear the debt in full and get the clearance letter from the bank.

Its like this one but comes in different designs and has optional canopy www.childrens-rooms.co.uk/toddler-beds/me-to-you-toddler-bed.html Also, but not so recently we found the size you want in Cilek like these http://www.cilek.com/en/kids_rooms/princess They have shops in MCC and Ibn Battuta mall hth

Oh my goodness, Di!! Yes, you are lucky it wasn't something more serious like a broken limb or neck!! I have found chivalry, especially in this region, is well and truly dead. And the women are just as bad. Humanity has really turned itself inward and people are now hesitant (that's if they're even aware of a situation!!) to lend a helping hand. Talk about insult to injury! Hope you feel better soon. Have you got arnica cream or tabs? I heard that helps with bruising. Thanks Ginnee, yes I was so lucky, I am using loads of arnica and ice packs and it is really helping the bruising a lot. xxx

Oh poor you! I do hope you are not too hurt. Now a days I find our fellow man to be very heartless. There seems to be no compassion for the immediate world around. I think everyone is so horrified with the bigger things in life that maybe they feel this is just a small issue. I still hate it. I guess its true there so much going on these days and we are exposed to a lot of really bad news, perhaps that contributes to a kind of numbness where human compassion is concerned. Thanks for asking, I am fortunately just very badly bruised and sore. Considering the drop I fell down I feel very lucky!

Thanks GloriousMorning, I found that really interesting. Especially interesting that the US and Russia predominantly detonated in their own countries but the UK and France it was mainly in the Pacific. [b'>Why do you think none of them were done by women Di@DXB? There are many notable female nuclear physicists, in fact nuclear science was predominantly created by a woman, [url=http://www.iaea.org/Resources/Women/famous.html'>Marie Curie.[/url'> Not everyone on here is just interested in schools, rents and bad driving. Wondering the relevance of a science based link to a women's forum is such a shame.[/b'> First off, I said "maybe" I have no idea who did them that was just a casual suggestion, but I believe Marie Curie did not set off atomic bombs anywhere, do correct me if I'm wrong, goodness me. The topic here is not women's contribution to nuclear science but the proliferation of nuclear explosions globally. And second I did not question why this was put up here. Really have you nothing better to do than attack the slightest lighthearted comment on here. edited for typo <em>edited by Di@DXB on 15/11/2013</em>

Hey everyone, Where would I be able to find gift boxes that are only a couple of inches long? (not flat though - with a proper square/round base?) I'm looking for ones that are about, say 10-15 centimeters long max, and maybe some smaller, some bigger, assorted sizes... I've never actually seen them anywhere in Dubai - is it worthwhile to check Daiso or Dragonmart? I'd like them to look really nice - sort of like these, but not so flat!: http://www.google.ca/imgres?um=1&sa=N&rlz=2C1CHMO_arAE0536AE0536&hl=en&tbm=isch&tbnid=oG73HVwwSApCSM:&imgrefurl=http://www.creativebag.com/boxes/gift-boxes&docid=BjMKTaqWl24whM&imgurl=http://www.creativebag.com/files/products/738/11260.jpg&w=738&h=526&ei=W_Y-UuTDDMHaswaU_4CYBw&zoom=1&ved=1t:3588,r:54,s:0,i:259&iact=rc&page=3&tbnh=168&tbnw=207&start=36&ndsp=24&tx=117&ty=68 or: http://www.google.ca/imgres?um=1&sa=N&rlz=2C1CHMO_arAE0536AE0536&hl=en&tbm=isch&tbnid=MNaVN9cWGa9qWM:&imgrefurl=http://www.123rf.com/photo_14431749_beautiful-gift-boxes-with-ribbon-3d-render--high-resolution.html&docid=g_SVl4md3nJAjM&imgurl=http://us.123rf.com/400wm/400/400/addricky/addricky1207/addricky120700049/14431422-red-gift-boxes-with-gold-ribbon-and-bow-isolated-on-white-background-3d-render--high-resolution.jpg&w=1200&h=1200&ei=dfY-Urq3N8q1tAbT-oHICA&zoom=1&ved=1t:3588,r:36,s:0,i:205&iact=rc&page=3&tbnh=178&tbnw=183&start=36&ndsp=24&tx=64&ty=61 Thank you! Diet is important as others have said, esp cutting out dairy, and if you prefer the natural route in medications the combination of Lemon Myrtle oil which is effective in inhibiting the outbreaks and Clove oil which kills the Propionibacterium bacteria that acne produces has been successful for teen acne. NB Lemon Myrtle oil must used at specific percentages in a cream formula, not neat as it is extremely powerful.

The Snopes article actually confirms that the concern is the food colouring which was the issue I posted on not the GMO factor. edited by Di@DXB on 26/08/2013 Yep, I know Di@DXB, I wasn't trying to contradict you. It was more to explain how the story has come about, the last paragraph being especially relevant but snopes wouldn't let me cut and paste. Anyway, I'm with Bird, I wouldn't let the stuff near my children, it looks vile. Glad to have the link to the Snopes report thanks. I think as others have remarked many of us have noticed adverse effects in our own children after consuming products with these kinds of colouring agents and for sure they are best avoided as are most things synthetic.

I grew up on this stuff and (I think) I turned out fine. And not hyperactive. These warnings always sound like fads...next week it will be something else that harms children, be it food, cleaning products, or life in general. edited by Sakhifa on 26/08/2013 Glad to hear you are ok. But if Kraft who make the stuff think there a definite connection I would not think it just a fad idea. There has been a lot of research done in mainstream medicine that points to a connection and while the jury may still be out on an official conclusion what has been established is that it is a likely trigger in kids who are predisposed to ADD & ADHD and the elimination of these artificial additives can be of benefit. Why take the risk?

Article you are referring to is from June so are the labels mentioned, but nothing from today on NYT page. edited by Goose on 26/08/2013 Yes you are correct the article did first appear in June. Not sure why the link I received today said "today" but anyway its useful to know whatever the date of publication I think.

Just a little concerned about this competition run by a company here, you have to post your child's photo online at school, to win. With the technology existing that enables anyone to locate where an online photo was taken and all the incidents outside and around schools recently I really feel this is a risk, one I certainly would not take just to win a few 'back to school' supplies. They say the pictures are not shared with the public but if you click on 'voting' you see all the submissions. [url=https://www.facebook.com/SouqUAE/app_195077797327415'>link[/url'>

So months after moving to our new house and after weeks of scouring dubizzle ads I finally found the cooker of my dreams in perfect condition at a price I was happy with. Had it delivered today only to find that the gap for the cooker is not the standard 90cm but 89.6cm! Basically when they built the kitchen apparently noone checked the measurements and we are the first unlucky tenants! :-( Right now I'm so hopping mad I can't think straight! Apart from the obvious trying to sell it on does anyone have any suggestions for a solution? We had this problem and a carpenter managed to fix it in, if the sides of the units are wooden should be possible to do. Seems a shame to sell the cooker without trying.

Hiya ladies, When i moved here i was unaware of any hair problems that were to come my way. To be honest i knew i had damaged my hair previously as i used to colour it for no reason. As soon as i noticed my hair started falling out i stopped and i haven't looked back for the past 8 years. However when i moved here my hair started to get thicker, this was because i was pregnant and i was told to enjoy it as it will go bk to normally as soon as the baby pops out. I have now tried everything from putting in a water filter, using coconut oil, olive oil, eggs, keratin treatment, masks, serums, hair extensions and hair cuts. Nothing seems to be working, infact i feel like i have done more damage as my parting seems to be getting wider and wider. I now use eye shadow to hide the thinning parts. I am now thinking about seeing a dermatologist? Has anyone seen one and could recommend me someone good? Or has anyone discovered the real secret behing beautiful long hair? Thanks X Hi, sorry I cannot help with a doctor recommendation but just wanted to comment about the use of the shower filter which is often recommended as the solution for hair loss here in Dubai. What most people are not aware of is the de-chlorinating Lemon Gel filter cartridge in these shower heads contain SLS and other synthetic fragrances that actually can cause hair loss, so if you are using one of these filters take the liquid fragrance cartridge out as it could be making your hair loss worse. It is only there to provide the lemon scent and the filter that removes the chlorine is in the shower head so you don't need it. Read more about how SLS causes hair loss here http://hairlosstreatmentreport.net/sodium-lauryl-sulfate-and-how-it-contributes-to-hair-loss/

Yorky, here's what we are going to do, drive to the nearest hotel and get a taxi, one of us gets in taxi and tells him our address and we all return home, keep the taxi there, leave the car at home all get in the taxi and head for the airport. This will only add a few dirhams to our trip. We have just called one of our friends and he has offered to take us. I would never usually ask anyone to take us but can't face the stress in the morning if we can't get there on time. I can't believe they would not accept the booking, I have never had an issue booking a taxi to the airport. Hope you get a taxi if not I am sure your plan will work! See you at the airport! Fingers crossed, if not we will just leave the car in long term. Ridiculous that we are reduced to these kinds of strategies just to get to the airport! And btw they are saying we all need to get to the airport earlier than usual as they expect crowds at check in. Have a great holiday!.
