Hi Di@DXB, I just came back from vacation and forgot my email address (cause it was an unusual OVI account) my username was momof3. kindly can you check your inbox and let me know it is momof3 @ovimail.com OR momof3 @ovi.com. you can check the following thread http://www.expatwoman.com/forum/messages.aspx?TopicID=186117 Hi, the only address I had for you was not an ovi . com one it was at hotmail. If you want me to put that up here for you I can do, not sure if you want me to post it? ETA also it was not the same format as above ovi prefix, possibly it was the same prefix as the hotmail one. edited by Di@DXB on 18/12/2012

I am not an expert but this is what I do, if you have the images already somewhere on your pc right click on the thumbnail and select 'copy' from dropdown menu. If you need to source the images from a website then right click the image you want and select 'save picture as' from the dropdown menu. Not all websites allow the right click function. If it works I would save it on my desktop as a jpeg. Then open a new doc in MS word, click on the 'insert' tab on the top bar and select 'table', move your mouse down and the table will extend to however many boxes you need for your chart. For example if you want three picture across and 6 pictures down in the chart then select three boxes across and 6 down. Relase mouse. You will have a small chart in the page. Right click and copy your picture and drop in in any of the boxes. If its too big for the page left click once on the picture and go to the 'Format' tab. Adjust height and width in the top right hand corner feature box. Hope than works for you.

If you are still after stocking fillers that don't cost an arm and a leg but are classy and unique and even organic, take a look at the offerings at the Courtyard market on Saturday, I got a really beautiful handmade necklace from a lady there last week and plan to get another. There are lots of other quality things that would make super stocking fillers from homemade olive pates, preserves and organic Christmas items. A quick trip down there this Saturday could sort your shopping woes out nicely.

For a general idea on property prices of rentals and for sale go to www.realestate.com.au and for schooling, suburbs, cost of living and taxation etc see http://www.aussiemove.com where there's some useful info. Here are some previous threads where aussie ladies on here have given detailed replies, as you see this has been asked many times before and there's a wealth of info in these threads. http://www.expatwoman.com/forum/messages.aspx?TopicID=185299 http://www.expatwoman.com/forum/messages.aspx?TopicID=184101 http://www.expatwoman.com/forum/messages.aspx?TopicID=181869 http://www.expatwoman.com/forum/messages.aspx?TopicID=177642 http://www.expatwoman.com/forum/messages.aspx?TopicID=175763 hth

SM - I'm not a tax expert, but I think they are toughening the laws regarding non-residents. Under current legislation you are classed as non-resident if you average fewer than 91 days per tax year over a period of 4 years. But In the new article it says 45 days (if already a non-resident for 3+ years) and 10 days for new non-residents. With 8 week summer holidays this could be a problem for those who return 'home' for the holidays. And although the number of days is not the only factor, I would assume it does get more difficult IMHO. Who knows who they will go after? Let's face it Starbucks and other large companies get away with millions every year, but so many small fry get clobbered. Guess we'll have to wait til the tests are issued! Yes, I believe you have understood it correctly, could be an issue as you say for many of us who want to spend more time in the UK over the summer.

An official "statutory residence test (SRT)" is expected to be introduced in the UK next spring which could affect many UK expats in the UAE. The new rules will seek to make it harder to break residence for UK tax. The number of days spent in the UK will no longer be the only means by which resident status will be determined. The new residency test will gauge residency status and taxes payable annually based upon a variety of connections the person enjoys with the UK such as "family, accommodation and economic interests." http://portal.mediawatchme.com/pages/client/item/summary.aspx?ID=df789b62-8a5f-4894-839d-f11972d40f9c&LID=1

I agree, I saw a small tub of homemade dessert for dhs40 yesterday, I thought it rather overpriced too considering it was just milk and fruit but there are a few sellers who don't ask crazy prices at some of the markets and they are most often the ones with the really worthwhile nice handmade things.

I could not sleep on one, mainly because it felt strange being basically an air filled plastic bag, having said that I am rather a fussy bed person. Also I think it depends on the size and weight of the person, ok for child to teen, but if its for an adult and you are thinking of buying one maybe a folding bed would be money better spent if its for more than a couple of nights.

The ad I find annoying is that repetitive nattering bird that sits on the woman’s head and goes on and on pecking her head in that high pitched voice. I wonder who came up with that, cannot figure what a bird trying to peck someone head open has got to do with biscuits. I never get to the name of the product as I have to switch channels the minute it starts.

That's a scam, and the 2012 doomsday calender thing has been explained by experts as a misinterpretation of the Mayan calender and is not at all valid from any perspective. Clearly you are part of the Illuminati misinformation project! :D I just want to know what the History Channel is going to do next year. Dig up some new Nostradamus stuff?? Focus on coronal mass ejections? Think they can stretch than another year or two... No Beebers, actually I am way too busy for that with buying stuff people don't want! :D

Again??? Why?!? The reason given by the CEO of RTA -(Quote) "This procedure will clearly contribute to easing the traffic flow by re-routing the vehicular movement on a number of roads and streets in the Emirate. Most notably, it is set to ease the pressure on Sheikh Zayed Road," (unquote) If as it appears they aim to divert traffic to minor roads, surely this will cause congestion on roads less equipped for greater traffic volume as well as less salik revenue?

Try souq.com its better in that scammers and time wasters are not able to work their tricks as well there, users have to sign up have an account with local phone number which is verified and buyers have to pay for the asking price or they don't get the goods. You don't have to worry about delivery either as souq will pick it up from you and deliver to the buyer at buyers expense.

You just apply normally for each passport according to the normal way for each, no need to mention to either that you hold the other passport as well, we have this in our family with two children, its completely routine and no different than when you just apply for one.
