Any of the Daiso branches should have it. There are Daiso stores in Ibn Battuta Mall, Oasis Centre, Lamcy Plaza, Reef Mall, MCC and Arabian Centre.

Do you want M&P glycerin? I guess you know that is synthetic, so will not make real soap. Check that the blocks mentioned are not synthetic and are chemical free or really there's no advantage over ready made chemical laced commercial soaps. Assuming you want to make real soap. edited by Di@DXB on 02/12/2012

Yes the park is open to non residents Thanks, I might take that in today, don't want to go to the big parks as they will be swamped. (If only the paper could put out complete information when they post stories, GN please NB if you are reading this, nice article just like the info on the fireworks but no details or not enough detail to make it really useful)

The paper says "Dubai Festival City: Spirit of the Union celebrations from 6pm, with performances and fireworks". No exact time given for the fireworks though. http://gulfnews.com/in-focus/uae-national-day/events-listings-uae-national-day-1.1110756 ETA this report indicates the fireworks at FC maybe only Saturday, not sure if they mean its on Sunday too. edited by Di@DXB on 02/12/2012

They have them in Spinneys as well. But I've checked their ingredients list and they are the same for the complete range of their products - am I missing something? Same ingredients for floor cleaner and dishwashing liquid? Yes, the ingredients do seem to be all the same but the percentages are different as well as the strength and fragrance. I have tried the window cleaner, the floor and the multi purpose cleaners, and they all work well. You can get them at the Change Initiative store on the SZR as well.

That actually works, I was not expecting an eco friendly floor cleaner to do much for my ground in discoloured floor tiles, having tried every kind of industrial strength product, but it really does and has even left them shiny. Smells fresh too and made from all organic ingredients. Brilliant product and good for the environment, I will be back for more, thank you Ecoclean.

I saw a frosted one yesterday, and I am trying to recall which shop it was, had to be either Daiso or Home Centre in Oasis mall as I only went into those two shops. Home Centre are having a very good sale there on the Christmas decorations, people were buying them buy the cart load, and I would like to thank again, in case she is on here, the very nice lady who let me escape the queue with my one purchase in front of her trolley full.

Having the phone number noted for your next order I'd be a little bit concerned that they may give you an extra besides the cherry tomato. I would never order again from anywhere I had complained, someone who worked in the food industry told me its pretty standard everywhere to add a bit of "relish" to food for customers who have complained. Don't mean to put you off, but better safe than sorry!

I used to love Le Taillevent resteurant in Paris, not been for some time but I hear these days this is the place where Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have dinner when they're in Paris. You must delcare any plant material, it will be inspected and if its in a commerically sealed unopened packing then they may let you bring it in, but if you have an bag of loose flower stems I would not be so sure about that. They do mention plant matter here as being on the list of items subject to import restriction. http://www.daff.gov.au/aqis/travel/entering-australia/cant-take I was able to take some date filled biscuits in because they were in the sealed manufacturers packaging, I was told that was why they would not seize and destroy them.

All I wanted is a small amount for kids science experiment! Ugh! Where is Safestway? Safestway is on the SZR just after Mazaya centre when you are heading in the AD direction, you need to take the exit marked Mazaya and go straight on you will see it on your right.

It can be found in Safestway, the pharmacy next to Waitrose in Dubai Mall, some Al Maya supermarkets, and the pharmacy in the Greens. It can come go in some of these places so I would say the best bet would be Safestway to start with. hth

I buy it at the organic shop off the Wasl road, to melt it you just need to mix it with hot liquid. Its really gorgeous and so full of flavour and anti oxidents. Its chocolate that is good for you as opposed to the fat and sugar processed stuff. Here's the location of the shop http://www.ripeme.com/farm-shop I usually use lindt 70%; do you really think there is a huge difference? So i could use the same quantity? Sorry the answer is going to be a bit long! The difference between raw organic cacao powder and regular cocoa powder is the raw cacao has no fat, hydrogenated oil, synthetic flavorings, preservatives, sugar and [u'>most[/u'> importantly is not processed by heat so it retains a wealth of anti oxidants, enzymes and nutrients. In fact on the ORAC scale ( Oxygen Radical Absorbance Capacity ) raw cacao contains 95,500 units per 100 grams making it is one of the best super foods around. Processed Dark Chocolate has only 13,120 plus all the fats and additives already mentioned. [url=http://bestsuperfoods.wordpress.com/2008/08/14/raw-cacao-chocolate-and-orac/'>link[/url'> because its had the life stripped out of it. As for the taste, yes the dark raw powder being unsweetened is more bitter tasting, but in a recipe you are going to add some kind of sweetener, I use agave nectar as its natural and low GI. Raw cacao is powerful stuff, you will need less of it due to its intensity. For example if making a cup of hot chocolate to drink you would only need one teaspoon as opposed to the usual 2 teaspoons for commercial processed drinking choc. So while its expensive as compared to cocoa powder a little goes a long way. If you are used to a 'dairy milk' kind of taste you may not like raw dark cacao but really there is no comparison between the two imo. To summarise raw dark chocolate is healthy and good for you - yes, guilt free choclate exists! While processed commercial chocolate is the opposite, for me a no brainer :) hth!

I don't add vanilla to chocolate recipes either because I always use organic dark raw cacoa and like the intense flavour pure and unchanged. It raises chocolate deserts to a whole new level imo. I know it's slightly crazy but I spray my fake Christmas tree with it to make it smell real. Thanks, I just have a craving for holly this year! Was that this year you found it at Bathworks? I have a recipe for healthy Fudge Brownies these are less guilty and really delish! Healthy Fudge Brownies Ingredients Serves: 9 1 cup yogurt (low-fat) 1/2 cup cocoa powder (I use organic raw cacoa) 2 cups brown sugar 3 eggs 1/2 tsp salt 1 cup whole wheat flour 1 tsp vanilla (optional) 1 cup walnuts (optional) Method 1 Preheat oven to 350 degrees. 2 Whisk together the yogurt and sugar to slightly dissolve the sugar. 3 Add the eggs one at a time, mixing thoroughly. 4 Stir in the vanilla, if using. 5 Sift together the cocoa powder, flour and salt. (Sifting prevents lumps.) Add the nuts, if using, to the sifted mixture. 6 Add half the dry mix to the wet mix and fold in with a wooden spoon. Fold in the rest. Do not over mix or the brownies will be cakey. 7 Pour into a 9x9 non-stick loaf pan and bake for 30-40 minutes. Use a toothpick to test for doneness. The toothpick should have some moist crumbs sticking to it, not be totally dry. 8 Cool on a wire rack, then store the brownies in an airtight container to keep moist. You probably will not need to store any I find they dissapear very quickly. edited by Di@DXB on 27/11/2012

A good one is the Arte events, they take place twice monthly. They are booked up over December unfortunately, but you should be able to get in there from the New Year. You could try the school fairs, there are many coming up over the next month.

Technically the world is ending on 21st, so 25 days! Leaving visit to the inlaws until after then, so at least there will be little silver lining. :-) FFx It turns out actually the world is not ending on 21st December, experts have explained how the whole Mayan calendar thing was interpreted wrongly, so looks like you may have that visit with the in laws after all! http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/07/08/mayan-calendar-world-will_n_1655135.html

I have always thought it unhygenic to have unwrapped bread on open display, besides the dirty hands and flies that are going to touch it, I notice frequently people who see nothing wrong in bending over the bread and coughing and sneezing all over it. I would never buy open displayed food products.

Yes, I need a syrup not an antibiotic. What is the name of the syrup? However I think I might get Flagyl for myself. Have been struggling with stomach problems for a week now. edited by Appletiser on 24/11/2012 I wouldn't take Flagyl lightly Appletiser, I had to take it for giardia and it was AWFUL. Made me even sicker. Same with my silly husband who took it 'just in case' which I warned him not to do. ... I agree with Daza...Flagyl is vile and should only be used for specific, medically diagnosed conditions. '>It treats bacterial and protozoan infections (like giardiasis). I had a quick look at one site on flagyl and didn't see any indication that it acts on any other parasites [b'>so I imagine it's useless against worms[/b'>[/b'>. Agree any meds should be prescribed by a doctor, we have only used Flagyl when it was prescribed by our doctor. The literature that accompanies the medication says its a treatment for roundworm which I see is the general term used for all the major types of worms including pinworm, hookworm and whipworm. We have used it on adults and children and none of us suffered any ill effects, however as with all meds what suits one person may not suit another. I can only presume our doctor was correct in prescribing it. It was not useless against worm for us however I would definitely consider trying one of the other meds recomended here if ever needed again, this thread has been very informative. edited by Di@DXB on 26/11/2012
